>due to level scaling most weapons and abilities are useless in late game
>developers just keep adding new stuff that doesn't survive into endgame

Level scaling is the worst. It literally kills all sense of progression and makes every area feel the same.

If your chance of missing is entirely RNG and not based on where you chose to aim and fire, your game is doomed to be boring, repetitive shit. I hate seeing games where you control one guy but have to click everywere to move and combat is just selecting a target and spamming hotkeys to spew skills and spells. That kind of bland combat should've stayed in micromanagement games, how it became the main feature of so many games is beyond me.

Pay to win mechanics.

Weapon durability is a good mechanic if done right.

i dont understand the autistic hatred for durability
yeah its not a great mechanic but its a mild inconvenience at the absolute worse its never actively ruined a game
to put it on the same level as level scaling is absolutely absurd to me

Really depends on the execution, but it's often a red flag for me because I usually just associate it with busy work. Constantly dropping old weapons and scrounging around for new ones after every encounter because metal swords and sledgehammers break apart like dry twigs.

Thats what made me stop playing ESO

Putting fire puddles in a raid and expecting half your team not to stand in it

Escorts NPCs that are slower than you and stop completely if you go to far from them

Scoring mechanic in stealth games that penalizes you for doing things like knocking out a guard or making a distraction.
