It's not so much killing them as making them whole again. Technically you aren't truly "alive" as you are only a fractured soul. After the rejoining everyone will be what they originally were.

You do more and have to think about more in post HW dragoon. It's more engaging and requires more forward thinking so as a result it's more fun to play. I don't really know what HW DRG has in comparison. The "slightly less damage than BLM point" you made earlier is irrelevant. How fun a class is to play has nothing to do with the dps they do, and even then the viability of a class isn't measured on their dps alone. It's the same reason ninja is fun to play (with low ping) despite having the lowest personal dps.

There are multiple interpretations of just what he was trying to do all along and that's what makes it so compelling.
On the one hand you could take what he was saying as truth and that he was testing the viability of mankind and the WoL specifically as new stewards for the world. If the WoL could contain the burden of so much light then they would prove themselves powerful enough to surpass the Amaurotians.
On the other hand it could just as well have been another cunning plan like states and he wanted the WoL to pop all along. Likewise you could say that it was just a contingency plan and he truly hoped that the WoL was strong enough to contain it and that mankind could inherit the world.
Another idea I rather liked was that all along Emet-Selch simply wanted to die and was tired of it all, which is why he subtly helped the WoL all along with directions, saving Y'Shtola, stopping G'raha's stupid plan and pushing them to use up all of their Light right at the end and achieve some semblance of peace, standing tall and dying with a smile.

By worse I don't mean worse performance/output-wise, I just mean that SCH feels weird and clunky to play now with the removal of core spells like Energy Drain, Miasma and Bane. It still heals just fine but everything else is kinda shit now. AST is in a similar situation.

We don't honestly know one way or another. Remember, Zodiark was actually physically given the souls of the Amaurot citizens to work his miracles. You can be an aetherless soul, like Ardbert was for the whole expansion.)

Hydaelyn's worlds preserve when Ascians aren't involved, even if war and suffering exist. I don't particularly see how they were flawed. It was a perfect united utopia which encouraged debate and the free-flowing exchange of ideas. Nobody had any need to fight one another for they didn't need to want or seethe with jealousy at their neighbours, one of the underlying problems with human society as it is now. Creativity was encouraged, but not stupidity, hence the bureaus spread through Amaurot. Perhaps the only issue you could state with the society is that there is no true individuality and that the Ancients were too communal but that could just as well be seen as a positive. The debate side quest didn't necessarily show a divide in society as we still know that half of the entire race sacrificed itself to save the other.
The downfall of this society came from a yet unknown sound crying out from the core of the planet. As we don't know the cause of it we can't yet state as fact that the Ancients were at fault.

What you're describing has been a problem for a long time but I agree that it seems to have reached a new peak with the current expansion. People get coddled so hard in PvE content in this game that it's fucking crazy to watch sometimes. Healers standing around wasting several GCDs doing nothing because they'll only heal and not deal damage. Tanks who blow all their cooldowns at once instead of cycling through them or just straight up not using cooldowns at all. DPS players who can't even string together a basic rotation at level 70+ despite the combo actions literally lighting up on your hotbar and players of all roles failing the most simple mechanics that they should've been exposed to half a dozen times at this point through mandatory dungeons/trials in the story.
There seems to be this strange unspoken rule that you just don't confront shitters who're actively dragging down the rest of the group and instead just grit your teeth and silently bear with it and carry them through content. I don't know where it came from but it's pretty frustrating and it's also the reason so many terrible players exist at endgame.
This is why the inefficiency of trusts is up for debate.

If you take triple melee or double ranged instead of having at least one caster one ranged one melee, you automatically lose 1% raid DPS. The average DPS for a non-speedrun group is around 60k right now. You're losing 600dps just by bringing a composition that doesn't have a caster. Couple that with BLM's high personal damage, and it becomes a really good idea to have them in the group unless you really need that res.

they have the highest apm out of the all the tanks so heavy armor doesn't make a lot of sense for someone that's supposed to be fast.
I expect DRK to pull ahead in more complex boss fights just because it has no phases and as long as you have 10 consecutive seconds of uptime for Delirium you're essentially maxing out. Right now PLD is more fun, more interesting, and on equal or better footing numbers wise though.
They share gear so just play both.

Just solo unsync it. I beat Nael earlier today at ilevel430 RDM after a bit of practice cheesing his phases.
I personally don't like any DPS but BLM, everything is far too spammy, especially something like current MCH. BLM is all about planning out the fight in advance, maintaining uptime on your spells despite the mechanics trying to fuck you, and to do that, you have to think a few steps ahead. With most other DPS, you just mash your rotation/priority in order and movement carries little penalty.
It's a shame most players think high APM = more fun, since it's really not very exciting at all.

GNB pulls the highest numbers. All the tanks are very great right now and mostly equal. It's just that paladin is the most equal of all.
DRG does way too much personal damage for how much raid damage it brings. I wouldn't count on it staying so overtuned. It's also really braindead now.

The tanks are all within about 200 dps of each other and have similar survivability/utility, anyone on Yea Forums sperging out about which ever one being shit is just them acting like minute differences are the end of the world, as usual.

Yeah, you can't take either of them. Instead you get access to all the Scions in each dungeon, but the problem with that is that there's unique dialogue for the characters who can be used as trusts in the story for each dungeon, which you'll never get to see for Lyna or Graha.
