I finished this game 2 days ago and Jessica literally has no interest or romantic connection with the Hero whatsoever. She was added in as a marriage option purely for waifufags since her getting married does not make any sense storywise. Why not add Red as a marriage option too? She shows as mich interest in the Hero as Jessica does, you get to cuck Yangus too.

I remember that she calls the hero sweet once. Other than that, yea idk, Medea makes more sense as a love especially considering their backstory, but Jessica is there for the lust for most people. Most people don't know the difference.

To be honest, I mostly agree with you. I do think that the 3DS version adds a BIT of interest in the Hero as far as Jessica is concerned, but yeah for the most part you're correct. They try to explain this in Jessica's ending with the whole "I didn't want to get in the way" stuff, but for me the Jessica romance honestly fell flat. Medea genuinely felt like the much more natural choice as a love interest.

Jessica also calls the hero "guv" in the original version after hearing Yangus do it, in the 3DS she calls him by his name the whole time. And they added in a couple brief scenes with Jessica at her parents house

I recently beat 8, and I wanna know how other people played through it. What weapons do you typically give to everyone? What's the best way to spread skill points?

I just haphazardly put skill points where ever without thinking it through. Typically gave the strongest weapon I had for Yangus, focused purely on magic on Jessica after realizing that melee on her is pointless, and had Angelo as DPS/support up until the end/postgame where he became support/Kazing spammer since his physical and magic damage output drops to shit up to this point.

Also to people who played the 3DS version, are Red and Morrie even worth using?

Red is very good for killing Metal King Slimes

I messed around with her while grinding metal slimes, her Blade Cascade is a really good skill. But I found it easier to just spam insta-kill moves like Executor and Lighting Strike with metal slimes. It didn't always work but I got more consistent results from that then trying to whittle them down.

I used Angelo for Rapthorne and Dragovian Lord primarily for buffing and Kazing since he's the only other person besides Jessica capable of learning it. Hero learns Zing but that's not as consistent and only gets you to half-HP anyway.

Yangus was my carry for most of the game. He hits and bulks out damage like a tank and he can take off like 1/3 of Rapthorne's HP if he manages to pop off a 100% Psyche Up'd attack. Even hits at 50% or even 20% are enough to trivialize more bosses.

You probably won't max more than 1 tree per character until postgame but
Hero: Boomerangs aren't worth it. Max Swords or Spears and Courage.
Yangus: Literally only Axes are really worth a shit on him. I usually get Helm Splitter then go for Fisticuffs early to get Thin Air on him, then go back to max Axes. His Humanity tree has some useful support stuff later I guess.
Jessica: Twin Dragon Lash is busted, besides getting far enough into Whips for that max Sex Appeal and then go for Staves for all the extra spells, especially Kazing.
Angelo: Bows and Charisma, dip into Swords for Metal Slash and Staves purely for extra spells again. Pearly Gates from Charisma is actually super strong.
Red: Blade Cascade from Knives is ridiculous, Fans and Roguery have good stuff in general
Morrie: He's fucking busted no matter what you do but Claws and Passion have all his best stuff. Third skill tree is up to you.

Is there an easy way to beat God in VII? That fat fuck keeps spamming Underpants Dance and One-Liner and drags the fight on way past the 20 turn limit to get his shards.

Hand of God and Deep Breath + Knuckle Sandwich are your two most reliable damage dealers
He does tend to be a faggot and get you to waste turns though so you just gotta beat his shit in before RNG screws you

I got my Hero as Champion, Maribel as Druid, and everyone else as Hero. Do any of them do better as other classes or is this fine?

Whips are still good in 3DS? I heard they got nerfed hard.

I think I had Hero as Hero, Maribel as Druid, Ruff as some unholy Monster class abomination at that point and mostly had him abusing usable items with his speed, and Mervyn as a Champion.
Not sure what level everyone was when I beat him the first time.

They did but Twin Dragon Lash is still by far her strongest move to use when Psyched up other than Magic Burst and maybe Kafrizzle at high levels against bosses that don't resist it.

A lot of them are, since monster skills carry over to every other class just like the base classes. Rainbow Peacock is the easiest way to get perma-Scorch on someone, I think I had him as a Champion for the stats and Hand of God once I went through most of this fucking mess. Never bothered grinding out Platinum Slime.

Thats good to know. I was hearing some people playing around with daggers due to the whip nerfs and were getting decent results with them but mostly she was being used as a mage first and foremost.

I think you get a Plat Slime Heart after doing that Slime Prince subplot thing for The Haven, but I forget.

Yeah I never finished the haven, Scorch and some utility spells were all I really wanted on Ruff. Scorch is fucking busted.

I know Hellfire is in the game too, Druid learns it for some fucking reason. But Scorch carried me the entire game, I had Ruff permanently as Monster Masher just to spam Scorch.

Yeah same until I made him a Peacock for a while, then you can leave him on whatever other class you want. Champion basically guaranteed Ruff goes first and gives him some actual single target damage too.

Are Scythes worth it for the stealing skills?

I technincally finished the game a few days ago but have yet to beat the final Dragon Form or go through Memories Lane. Do you guys think its worth or should I move on to other stuff?

Absolutely not, the chance is abysmal. Red gets a passive chance to steal in the 3DS version which is way better.

I'm currently grinding for Memories Lane. Fuck the Trap Box in Memoria, all he does is spam Thwack. He's managed to one-shot my entire party 3 times in the 10 or so times I've fought him and I'm pretty sure he's immune to Fizzle too.

Aside from the vertical slash, which is a very basic animation for a sword fighter anyway, the animations between both models is very different
The Hero pulls his torso backwards, head's turned to side diagonally, holds his shield more upfront, bends one of his legs, after his slash delivery the Hero crouches entirely to the floor while Link turns his body to the side. Not to mention the Hero has several different moves like use of magic.
I don't know about being based on the mii-swordfighter but the only thing the Hero has in common animation-wise is a very basic vertical sword slash, at least based on your ""proof"".
