The old games literally have you perform a cartwheel/roll every time you want to run. They have some of the worst controls I've ever experienced in a platformer.

1 is the best. Has the fewest gimmick levels. 2 is still really good, 3 gets shat on a lot but it's also fine. The whole franchise is consistantly pretty good.

1 > 2 > TF > R > 3

At least most of us agree 3 is the worst. Too many gimmicky levels.

It's more expensive and all it has is an easy mode, not worth it at all unless you just want it portable. I ended up just getting it as a birthday gift.

It has waggle in the sense that it either registers shake or it doesn't. It doesn't take into account acceleration nor position. It's just like a button press, only instead of pressing a button you shake your hand. And you do this a lot, as it replaces basically everything the Y button did in the old games. Shake! It's fun!

I've only played the 3DS version and thought it was great. There's also a whole world unique to the 3ds version.

The load time are also drastically shorter. I'd buy it again for that reason alone.

I was SO pissed as a kid when I realized DK isn't in 2/3 of the games.

Perhaps a focus in exploring the overworld, and the levels are not as good as 1/2
Still a pretty good game though

Main thing holding back Returns is how bland it is.

Because nobody played it back in the day so less nostalgia for it, the music isn't as good and it has a kiddy theme to it which actual kids are turned off by.
