quests have a level requirement, if you're doing a lvl 45+ MSQ you won't be able to do it on your level 12 archer until it gets to level 45+ itself (but you can still do it on your warrior until your archer or whatever catches up)

I love the game but I do feel like you should have your expectations tempered a bit. The start is slow. Real fucking slow. The combat is slow, the story is slow, you will feel like your brain is slowing while playing it. Just keep in mind it absolutely gets better. Also to not skip cutscenes, it may all seem like a chore at first but you'll appreciate having a grounding in the world later.

No, it isn't, an overabundance of one aspect of aether begins producing monsters no matter what aspect it is. The dark consumed a shard and became the Void, the light nearly consumed a shard and produced sin eaters and lightwardens. There were probably chaotic confluences of water, fire, earth, etc. monsters on the other shards that were consumed.

The only higher wills we have to go off of are Hydaelyn and Zodiark, and they aren't actually gods. Hydaelyn in particular is fairly simple-minded because she was made for only one purpose.

Why do people always get assblasted about skipping story? Some people don't have the time to experience a 200+ hour story before getting to the end game content, and some people want to play with their friends. what's wrong with just skipping the story and watching it on youtube instead? Not everyone is going to like the story after all but they might enjoy the gameplay. After all lets be honest the gameplay doesn't really shine until you unlock most of your skills anyways.

Sin eaters consume multiaspected living aether and reduce it to more umbral light. The flood of light does the same shit, just much faster and to all matter in the shard at once. Voidsent are the same deal, Umbral, but dark aspected.

Playing healer in solo battles is tedious as shit and you look ridiculous in cutscenes, but you get the fastest dungeon queues. I would probably pick a DPS for doing the story because then you won't have to grind palace of the dead or heaven-on-high to level that job.

I've leveled a WHM first both on ARR launch and 6 months ago when I came back to the game.
It's fine, you spam 1 spell 90% of the time, but you have no trouble soloing any quest/scenario.

Im gonna real with you champ. All the jobs are slow paced in the 1-30 range. Healers in particular. That being said, the benefit to healers right now and usually is that you get instant queues into dungeons, which are required to progress in the story, while DPS can range from 5-15 minutes. Remember that in this game once you hit level 10 you can freely change between jobs you have unlocked and leveled, so don't feel like you have to commit to one if its not working out. Just remember that the early levels in this are a SLOW burn.

I watched Momo's video about dungeons with Scholar and while most points were things I was already doing, one thing that stuck out to me was using Recitation on Excog. Like, what's the point? Excog can't crit, and using Recitation doesn't reset Excog's cooldown. At best you'll be switching around the order of your aetherflow skills (use Lustrate to keep up your previous Excog buff, then Excog again with Recitation after instead of Lustrating after Excog triggers and waiting for more AF stacks to use Excog again).
