I really dig it. It reminds me of the combat of Rome 2 with a shogun 2 esque feel to it. Diplomacy is a lot better over previous iterations, but you can still break it with certain things like becoming a rice lord.
But in the campaign mode, you can chose to follow a story path and get certain generals that those individuals in history had. For example, as Liu Bei you always start off with Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei. But if you play certain events right, you are able to recruit Zhuge Liang and Zhao Yun later on in the game. I personally enjoy the hell out of it.

Runs at fixed 30 fps at 5k resolution. There's a 60fps patch but I care more about resolution.
Just started the game so can't make a solid judgement but I'm really impressed by the scale of the world and monsters. Gameplay systems are dense as fuck though, it's going to take weeks to learn what shit does.

You're a Templar going down into the depths as pilgrimage, fighting all kinds of evils, and some not so evil.
Stamina based combat, cool bosses and while it may look like a platformer it doesn't have a jump button. It has some rogue-lite elements, while the map itself is static you do lose everything once you die, though you do get permanent unlocks via unlocking various starting gear, stat upgrades you find and using currency from enemies to get specific perks to hone your build
Took me about 20 hours to beat all the bosses and pretty much do everything aside from going for 100%, well worth a playthrough.

Sometimes there are good narrative moments in gameplay, but the most interesting bits of the story are told through an in-game lorebook type of deal that you unlock entries for through gameplay. Personally I think it's a lazy way to handle the story and I wouldn't recommend anyone to play the games for the story alone.

Guardians were created after the Travaler became inert as a last act from it so humanity can be protected during the following Dark Age.
There are pretty good story beats, along with excellent soundtrack, but most of the lore is text-based and you unlock throughout the game. It's the same deal as Halo. You have a simple premise to justify the gameplay while the rest of the stuff can be found outside the game.

Is the gameplay at least solid? I've been craving a decent FPS, and I've always had a soft spot for Scifi. I've been scouring the Steam store looking for something I haven't tried yet. Actually came across this free to play trash called Warface. I thought it looked good, but it turned out to be a COD clone with only one level set on Mars.

Do you have all the game types selected? There's some sort of glitch that makes it take a really long time to find a match if you select them all. I just have 1 or 2 unselected and I generally find matches in less than a minute. I usually play a match or 2 every night.
