Neither have I. In game game can I fuck my neighbour's wife?
Of course you can.
>game can I fuck my neighbour's wife?
yes you can my guy, play sims 1 or 2 if you can
3 has most content but technical issues. You gotta lock the framerate else that shit will melt your card.
Also installing everything means bad loading times for even browsijg items. So you either SSD it or only install the expansions you actually care and will use.
But apart from that, it is the superior content. Play 4 only if you want something straightforward and vanilla.
pc noob here, how to lock framerate?
Either through your card configuration program, add the game exe there and lock the fps and/or lock vsync. Enable viewing the fps to see if it works.
Theres also a fpslocker for the game people made. But you can do it yourself through your card program.
4. Don't listen to any nostalgia fags who yell you 2 or 1. Play 4, which is the newest one. It looks good, it plays well enough. It doesn't perform like garbage even on a nasa supercomputer.
3 has a lot of issues. Stay away from it. Go back to it in the future, but start with 4. If it's one of your interests, 4 has the best sex mods
That sounds like a bad way to introduce yourself in the series if you have to run circles and miss half the content just to get it to perform remotely well. Playing sims 4
OP, everyone who tells you to play any of the older games hasn't even given sims 4 a shot since release when it has no content. Don't listen to people who haven't actually played the games as they are now.
3
Don't listen to this retarded zoomer, 4 is shallow, barebone garbage compared to 2 and 3
Don't listen to this zoomer. He still isn't capable of forming an opinion by trying something out for himself. He still relies solely on the opinions of strangers on Yea Forums to tell him what to think.
2
Was anyone else's first Sims game the 6th gen console versions? (original or Bustin' Out)
Surprisingly competent
OP: I just wanna try the sims
>Hurr you need to get this specific autistic version of the game but don't install this this and this also mess with your driver software to do this and this, on and you can't do that, also you'll need to use these mods and change this setting, do that and you'll make it playable
OP: What about sims 4. I just want to try the core game and not mess with a million things
>ZOOMER GARBAGE WAH WAH
>tfw bought sims 1 day one on pc
It was a good day desu
Sims 3 if you can install it on a NSA cluster to get over 5 fps.
OP, I guarantee you everyone in this thread saying 2 has never even touched a sims game in 7+ years.
I also guarantee you anyone saying 3 tried the sims 4 on release day and tried to compare it to 3, which has over 12 expansions. Now 4 has a plethora of content packs and is the superior core gameplay experience that doesn't lag every 5 seconds. The only thing it doesn't have is university right now, but it does have a lot of content 3 doesn't. Don't let these people fool you, just try it for yourself and decide. Here's a reminder. These same people who "love" the sims 3 were absolutely REEEEEEEEEEEing when it came out and it wasn't the sims 2. They'll do the same contrarian shit once the sims 5 becomes a thing and claim to always have loved 4.
3 is my favorite, but 4 is the better choice for a newcomer. Don't forget to install the dlcs as well since the base game has literally no content.
2 is the Most fun.
This. 4 is the way better choice and in my opinion better than 3 in some aspects and worse in others.
games4theworld.club
Bustin' Out is still the best Sims game
>4 is superi-
>no open world
>neighbours dont age with you
>no create-a-style
>toddlers were added later in the game when they should have been there at the start,SAME GOES FOR SWIMMING POOLS
>body hair is gone
>story progression is gone
>no NPCs who are: firemen, cops and burglars
>cant even own a car
I would recommend to dick around with first one for couple of days to try to understand why it became such a thing. Sure, it's dated as hell by today's standards, but if you'll try to keep in mind that this was the first of its kind I think it'll be at least somewhat interesting to explore. You'll also couldn't help but appreciate the music, still the best.
I think if you'll start with first one you'll be able to build yourself up from that and appreciate the leap that Sims 2 in what it allowed players to do. DLCs, for some time, also felt like they were a good addition to the game, I think most people still remember University and Open for Business fondly, they really added something meaningful to the base game. Until all DLCs just became a dozen pair of clothes.
Sims 3 is at least interesting to experience because of its open world nature, you are no longer confined in the space you are allocated to, you can literally just go out an interact with living breathing world. It added a ton of stuff that was fun to explore, and hell, it actually added literal exploration. The only problem is that, well, the game is optimized like shit. You'll have to fight through a lot of lag to be able to enjoy the game. It's also by far most stylistically ugly, all characters look like potatoes.
Sims 4 took a step backwards. Instead of allowing you to run around in an absolutely open world you now got sections you could interact with. I think a good compromise in concept but... it still kind of runs like shit, there is still lag, it didn't fix that many of the problems and just castrated a feature. Sims 4 also had criminally the worst base content, you couldn't even have a pool when it came out. EA has obviously gotten way too greedy with DLCs even by its standards. But with all the DLCs and by far the best visuals, Sims 4 is definitely a good Sims game and a good starting place too.
Sims 3 is one of, if not even the best sims game.
However, it's starting to show it's age, and that's the only reason I suggest you pirate Sims 4
>boot up 4 for a fap and some light playing
>end up spending three hours building a multi-level underground bunker complex
2 is unironically the best.
3 is a nightmare of technical issues
4 is souless, it just doesn't work at all visually or mechanically. You can spend weeks modding it to get it working.. or you can just play 2.
I remember sending my friend this and he somehow got caught
sims 3
Play 2 , its the least compromised out of the franchise
2 is the best. some of the graphics didn't age well, especially on the sims themselves but you have more than enough mods to make your sims better looking.
>runs really well on modern computers even with all the expansions and shit ton of mods
>no rabbit holes like in 3, you actually get to see your sims try out clothes/eat in a restaurant
>tons of customization of your towns
>has a solid modding community that still has creators making new stuff to this day
sims 3 is 2nd best. it's really nice to have a more open world where you don't have to see a loading screen every time you go somewhere but that really doesn't matter after a while because again, there's a lot of rabbit holes.
i will give 4 a few things. being able to talk to multiple people while your sim is doing something else is really nice. building and decorating your house is a lot easier and smooth in 4 too. house building is probably the only thing 4 has over the other games.
That does sound shitty but at the same time I mostly want to fap to good looking characters so Sims 4 seems to be the best option
>neighbours dont age with you
i didn't even know about this, what the fuck is that shit
Just play 3 it's by far the best one in the series even with its technical issues which aren't even as bad as people make out, personally I had no real issues even a decade ago.
4 is actual garbage I can't believe anyone is recommending it. It's practically the sims 1 but worse, that's how far backwards they went. Not that the sims 1 is bad but you wouldn't expect the new game to be on par with the first one.
4's sex mod community is bretty good, if that's your thing
did anyone else get a sense of eeriness and even creepiness from OG sims? like the random telephone calls and this clown fucker. maybe it's because i played it when i was a kid, but it always scared me.
It's not true. Sims 2 is the one that behaves like that. In Sims 4 you can chose to either have them age or not.
Sims 1 is still the game i play
Shame that 95% of the CC sites closed down/404/permanent maintenance since 2007
Oh no, Sims 1 definitely had some weirdly scary shit. Fire 2 SFX would fit in a Hitchcock movie.
>No open world
But the game runs higher than at 9 fps and doesn't freeze every 7 seconds. It's neighborhood hub system is better as you still have a small open world to work with.
>Neighborhoods don't age
MC Command Center
>No create a style
This is your only point
>Toddlers were added later
This is not a flaw. Stop playing old versions. I know you haven't played since vanilla, but try updating your game and play again. A lot has changed, and parenting is easily 20x more complex and well designed than in the sims 3, but you'd know that if you actually played the game
>Body hair is gone
No one cares, but this who do can spend 5 seconds dropping files in the mod folder. No one plays without body replacers / sex mods anymore regardless
>Story progression is gone
MC Command Center. Sims grow old, have children, get married, move homes, etc.
>No NPCs who are firemen
Fine, you have two minor points
>Can't even own a car
Made irrelevant by the superior ease of traveling now. To introduce cars again means to inherently design travel by other means to be unfun for the player and clunky.
>WAH WAH YOU CAN'T USE MCCC THAT'S A MOD THAT'S CHEATING
It still fixes the game making half your points irrelevant, takes seconds to install, and you use nraas every single time you play the sims 3, so fuck off with your double standard
Aside from that there is thousands of items you can buy digitally.
If you arent a woman dont
Stay away from your own good
>Fragile masculinity : The post
Why?
>But the game runs higher than at 9 fps and doesn't freeze every 7 seconds.
How exactly did Sims 3 go from being a game with long load times to a game that runs at 9fps on a NASA supercomputer? The game runs fine, you fucking retards. The only issue is long load times, which is completely negated by an SSD, and the massive amount of bugs, which all Sims games have. I'm currently stuck on a piece of shit old computer at the moment and Sims 3 actually runs better than Sims 2 for me and is far less prone to save corrupting glitches. Sims 4 is completely unusable. It's too heavy on the CPU. My shitty computer, which can run an entire fucking Sims 3 worlds with 60+ residents at a reasonable framerate, struggles to run one of those tiny Sims 4 neighborhoods.
still have my bay copy of them all and like 100 digital packs
Sure thing, buddy. You're clearly smarter than the dozens of people who disagree with you
4 is better if you just want to create stuff like houses or sims
3 is better for everything else although it has many performance issues and unless you install it on an ssd the loading screen get quite sluggish
Not the case for me, but I'm happy for you.I'll keep playing Sims 4 until 3nm processors that can run Sims 3 is out.
>he doesn't know that anecdotal evidence trumps the scientific method every time
to be honest, even though i prefer sims 2/3, sims 4 does run pretty smooth and building stuff is the best it's ever been (aside from no custom colors) but the fact that all the dlc is too expensive for what they're offering and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, so bad that i don't even want to give at least one expansion a chance.
>expansion packs: $40
>game packs: $20
>stuff packs: $10
and you might be asking yourself, what's the difference between them all? what's the point? because it's a very good question. when you really look at it, it's dlc for your dlc. for example, "my first pet stuff" stuff pack requires you to own the "cats and dogs" expansion pack. if that's the case why not just include the pet stuff in the expansion from the beginning. it's BULLSHIT.
It's ironically the best porn game if you get mods going, Shit you would never think off
you will destroy your penor and smell like semen for weeks
I'm clearly smarter than meme spouting retards, that's for sure.
I'm sorry, it's just a simple fact that my ancient P8600 processor can run Sims 3 with little trouble but cannot run Sims 4 in any sort of playable state. I'd be fucking playing Sims 4 if I could but I can't. Do you retards actually believe all those people who have been playing the Sims 3 since it was released all those years ago have been playing it at only 10fps because it actually needs a super computer that doesn't even exist today, much less existed 10 years ago when the game was released? It runs fucking fine, you fucking morons. Even on my piece of shit it's playable.
sims 4 base game has actually zero shit to do. you eat, sleep, shit and repeat
I bought 2&3 with most expansion packs back in the day, Just pirate 4, You can get the full game
Every base sims game has little to do in it. Sims 4 is not unique in this regard, nor is it the worst.
the only reason i have 4 was because ea was offering the base game for free a few months ago. can i pirate just the expansions or should i just pirate the whole thing?
That's too bad.
I'm not sure, But you should just get the full thing if you wan't to be safe. Or you can buy keys off a site, Either way EA gets nothing.
zoomers too young enough to remember sims 1 base game was actually, eat, sleep, shit, repeat: the game. and we all ate it up back then. lel
You can pirate the expansions but EA might ban your account, better to pirate the whole thing.
If you don't own a supercomputer, 4.
TS4.
never was a fan of the classic sims games anyway. I played The Urbz GBA more
fitgirl-repacks.site
But the game is 0$ though?
Fuck EA
thankfully there's a bunch of expansions out and the modding community is extensive.
What are good mods just to spice it up? Not adding jank community animations, just decent nudity and shit.
thanks for the link, user. i hope you have a good day.
Always happy to share the loot matey
in 4 you can
sims 2 if you dont mind graphics
sims 3 if you dont mind atrocious performance and bugs
sims 4 if you dont mind less features
4 is better for sex mods
i bought 4 because EA got my hopes up too much and thought they would fix the glaring issues of 3
i was wrong
easy choice OP
>sims 4 if you don't mind less features
like what?
THIS.
you have to be retarded to actually buy hundreds of dlc for a piece of shit base game also mods is a must if you want full control of your npc
Where to find a good Sims 4 torrent + crack?
FItgirl, better question is where to find a good Sims 2 torrent?
>fitgirl
why do people keep shilling for repacks?
the time you saved downloading will be lost on unpacking
The only fun i get from sims 4 is watching LGR bash each entry or praise it out of pity
Sims 3 runs like ass, even with today's hardware. Sims 4 runs better but is more shallow overall. Either way you are going to pay out the ass for a full experience.
This is good. I'm not sure if it's copypasta or not. But I think it is good.
see
>Wah wah
Enjoy playing at 800x600
No one in their right mind actually pays for Sims AND its expansions. It's kinda like Windows in that sense.
3 doesnt run bad, it simply has loading issues. Your complaint is bullshit.
>Enjoy playing at 800x600
What on earth makes you think that's relevant to a discussion about CPUs? Sims is a CPU bound franchise. Always has been. Sims 4 is ESPECIALLY a CPU bound game. People aren't claiming Sims 3 runs like shit because their graphics card is not up to the task. On the contrary, people are claiming their graphics hardware is SO up to the task it's causing issues due to Sims 3's lack of framerate limiter.
id pay for sims 1 - 2 and all their expansions. A time where they made something worth the price tag
>A time where they made something worth the price tag
Oh yeah, stuff like the H&M fashion pack and IKEA furniture pack were so worth the asking price. Have you never seen the infamous PC Zone review calling out EA for it's greedy bullshit in regards to Sims 2 expansions?
>H&M fashion pack and IKEA furniture pack
not expansion packs :)
2 if you want to actually play the game.
3 if you want to have sex mods but are willing to spend time making the sims not ugly
4 if you want sex mods but are lazy.
The worthless stuff for Sims 3 & 4 are not expansion packs either. Expansions are generally worth it for all games.
Sims 4 blurred the lines between Stuff packs and Expansion packs in terms of quality/content quantity
EA gets a lot of shit over the way they handle the add-ons for Sims 4 but personally I like that everything is a lot more focused and if there isn't enough content to make an expansion with rather than throwing it in a random expansion pack somewhere they release it as a separate pack for a lower price. I hate, for example, that in order to have bowling in Sims 3 I have to install the entire University Life pack which comes with a whole load of bullshit, most of which is irrelevant or just an outright nuisance if you aren't sending a sim to university. Yes, it's more expensive and I don't like that but it's a lot less expensive than the Sims 3 store was. That thing was a much bigger rip off.
>Katy Perry Sweet Treats
>Showtime Katy Perry Edition
holy shit, why this shit isn't on Steam
open world
a lot of customization features
a shit ton of great expansion packs
the only thing sims 4 has over sims 3 is better graphics and the fact that it doesn't run like shit
>why this shit isn't on Steam
The license agreement expired
>why this shit isn't on Steam
deservedly so, the Katy perry content is the lowest of the low in the entire franchise
Factually untrue. Because of the open world nature and the game processing everything at once, it's common for NPCs, especially those without homes, to get stuck. They slow down the game tremendously over time this is one (but not the only) reason your games slow down the longer you've been playing.
>Everyone says don't install these expansions so you don't have performance issues
>Now you're stating the opposite
The likelihood of a sim getting stuck is entirely dependent on the construction of the world. Most worlds have virtually zero major routing issues while others, e.g. Bridgeport, have some issues that can be repaired if the user can be bothered to fix the problem spots. One world, Isla Paradiso, is generally considered to be so broken it's not really worth trying to fix or seriously playing long term in that world. Manually resetting sims that are stuck is trivial for the user and there's mods that will do it automatically for you but you really shouldn't use them because they detect lots of false positives.
tldr; It's not common for sims to get stuck unless you happen to be using one of the few broken worlds EA released.
>neighbours dont age with you
But they do
No, i remember this. But this shit only settles in after very very long playtime and there is a fix, which i dont remember how it was because i never even got to this stage. This aint the kind of stuff most people ran into. Point was, installing the game wont run you into fps issues, just loading times one.
Sims 3 for mods/customisation and don't mind shitty performance, sims 4 if your playing on a potato.
Pirate the latest version of 4 that includes the new Island Living expansion, then download the corresponding versions of Whicked Whims and Basemental Drugs. It's a super comfy game if you want it to be, and you can bust at least a couple good nuts using Whicked Whims.
>t. corelet
Thanks to user who posted that bundle of mods a few days ago
ignore this guy
never lock your framerate with your GPU settings, it will feel horrible. use RivaTuner as it caps the FPS properly and doesn't cause input lag like gpu locking would
