Can they ever be forgiven?
Can they ever be forgiven?
no
What does his poopies smell like:3?
No. They said they'd do something about the game, but just waited long enough for everyone to stop talking about it and kept the monetization exactly the same.
Come on, were not the bad guys!
IM HORNY
youtube.com
well they did produce this, so it wasn't all bad
The casuals and normies already have.
>but just waited long enough for everyone to stop talking
What do you expect them to do? pay to speed up the process?
So 5 stars?
No but they don't give a fuck because they have a monopoly on sports games and those games print money.
Why should we? We got perfectly decent spiritual successors to Dungeon Keeper from other developers, and management sims in general have never been better.
No.
AND LONELY
which one would you recommend? I loved DK2 and Evil Genius
Can they? Yes.
Will they? No.
NEVER. And I want to see them BURN in the wake of the lootbox and microtransaction ban.
Maybe if they make a modern NBA Hangtime instead of just releasing the same game once a year but with a different roster I might give them the time of day. But I don't see that happening.
>satan is a Jew that constantly asks goyim for money
I'd say it was the perfect representation
They'll find a way around it, snakes always do.
>I want to see them BURN
they're too big too fail. they have so many IPs it can sell off they can probably outlive all other companies in any would be crash, with the only other possible exception being Activision-Blizzard
Short for the Horned Reaper!
Nope. They have no way in this regard.
They will fail if they cannot monetize the shit out of them.
No. They are the villains and every employee in their business should feel like the bad guys of the industry because they are.
Stop buying AAA games. Pirate or ignore. Fuck all DRM, play indie or old and let the industry crash.
>They will fail if they cannot monetize the shit out of them.
no, they'll just start selling it off to other developers. they're sitting on tons of IPs which people want
Including employees in subsidiaries? including employees in subsidiaries which were taken over by EA which started working there pre-takeover?
Exactly. Even if they severed anything mainline EA or that could be tied back to them, only leaving the remote properties nobody would call them out on, they would still have a fuckton of property to profit off of.
>No, they'll just start selling it off to other developers. they're sitting on tons of IPs which people want
Unless the devs that are doing one of the IPs they have will be a good, and most importantly, complete game. EA is known these days to come out with half-baked products and very, VERY RARELY something that comes out from them is actually good. What is happening there doesn't show that there will be any complete games.
Not him, but War for the Overworld was made by a team of people who worked on DK 1 & 2.
I dont think you understood, I mean they will sell the rights to those games, sell the IP not make games based on the IPs
Yes. All of them. No exceptions to if your faggot president sold your company out to the literal devil of the gaming industry because he wanted the money like a greedy fucking faggot without a shred of passion in his job.
Based and redpilled, it's too bad nobody else thinks this way
As in getting rid of the IPs that they won't use anymore?
They commissioned that kick ass song for it so it's hard to hate.
ok but is it good tho
>if your faggot president sold your company out to the literal devil
you know there is such a thing called hostile takeovers right? its not always the president selling your company. infact EA is insidious with its takeover of companies and often manipulate people into selling out of lack of choices.
yes. for example they hold the publishing rights to Alpha Centauri, which is why Firaxis (subsidiary of 2K games and developer of Alpha Centauri) cant make another Alpha Centauri game or make a remake and this is why we got Beyond Earth instead and why they were worried about making it too similar to SMAC - for fear of EA suing them. I know for a fact there was atleast one attempt to secure the publishing right back to EA but EA demanded an unreasonable sum. and so this IP is stuck in limbo. EA could easily sell it to 2K/Firaxis and make money and I know 2K/Firaxis would be happy to buy it back (for a reasonable sum)
>haha we're self-aware about our terrible business practices
good for you EA, good for you
It's pretty much more of the same, so I'd say yeah.
>even their ''plz rate 5 stars'' popup is jewish
Jesus, fuck these guys
All EA really needs to fucking do is product good games at a lower budget without shitty micro transactions or gambling "surprise mechanics".
They just need to do this for a long time and slowly they will build up trust again.
actually they've recently been pushing the rhetoric of 'we don't want to be seen as the bad guys', so they're presently in a 'pretending not to know' phase.
They kinda switch between the two.
Oh. That's actually less probable. Big companies like EA are spiteful cunts. If they did something like that they would've done it a long time ago. Just how many IPs that they don't use anymore do they have? Loads and they will never sell them.
On the other hand they could've sold the the rights to Shadow of The Horned Rat and Dark Omen to CA so that we could get in future TWW games Morgan Bernhardt as a LL.
>If they did something like that they would've done it a long time ago.
go back to my original point I was saying they're too big to fail as soon as they have problems they can sell those IPs to keep afloat. they entire industry can crash and burn and they'll probably survive.
has EA ever made a good game?
OK. In the end time will tell how and what.
The Fight Night games were great.
No.
EA was pretty decent in past.
I always wanted Bernhardt representation in that game. Had to simulate it myself.
Figures it's EA's fault.
I'M CHUMS WITH THE DUNGEON KEEPER!
The general rule is, if the game has 'Electronic Arts' or 'ECA' on it and not 'EA', then it's cool.
EA is a publisher. they dont make games. they have subsidiaries which do that. and yes they have subsidiaries which made good games. plenty of them. the first two Dungeons Keepers were made by Bullfrog as an EA subsidiary. Dragon Age origins and the first Mass Effect were made as EA subsidiaries. The Sims, SimCity 3000, SimCity 4 - all done as EA subsidiaries. Dead Space was made by one of EAs homegrown subsidiaries (not a takeover)
>You'll never play DK for the first time again
is there porn of this character
EA has published some decent games, like Dead SPace, Mirror's Edge, and CnC3
Rule 34 mate. if it exists...
>CnC3
Really? from all C&C games you picked that? Westwood was taken over in 1998 since then it made Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 2 and Generals since then - all of which were superior to C&C3
I intentionally picked most recent games I could think of. Nobody disputes that the CNC games released during when westwood was still around were good.
THIS ABOMINATION IS THE PROOF THAT EA TODAY IS JUST A CASHGRAB SHIT CORPORATION.
People were waiting for dungeon keeper 3 long... Long time. And EA instead of making a legit dungeon keeper 3, they decided to make some shit cashgrab mobile shit what literally isn't hiding with fact that this is pay2win and brutal cashgrab and slapped "Dungeon Keeper" on it. They also literally ruined the soul of DK by butchering design of characters and made them look like shit from typical mobile shit like clash of clans or something.
And now I see articles about EA crying that "They struggle with perception that ther are bad guys". Their tears are fucking delicious.
Look at game called War of the overworld, that's how new dungeon keeper should be like, same gameplay but new mechanics, new possibilities, improved control etc.
I still wish EA will sell DK franchise to company what will respect it and release REAL DUNGEON KEEPER 3.
Fuck EA, I hope they will go bankrupt.
>companies now release games with no microtransactions and then add them in 2 months after release after all the reviews are out
the gall of these jews
Can we please stop blaming the Jews? We Jews are fucked by this just as much as any other goy.
Then why do you do it?
Great post you commie faggot.
We aren't doing anything. stop smoking crack and reading conspiracy theories.
point of no return - only bankruptcy shall absolve their sinful soul
never gonna happen. too big to fail
Jews love jewing over other jews the most
oy vey
>if your faggot president sold your company out to the literal devil
>what is aggressive takeover
will inevitably happen - it will just take longer
>will inevitably happen - it will just take longer
nah. EA sports will keep feeding the company. you'd need something serious to topple EA and something that big will probably topple the entire industry.
No.
Last time the industry crashed it was due to a huge glut of low quality games, which i would argue is basically impossible nowadays because of digital distribution.
still possible. digital distribution mitigates that risk considerably but it doesn't make it go away completely.
>In order to not be a commie you have to blindly follow corpoations and spread your asshole open for them.
Enjoy getting your little boi-hole torn open. Andrew Wilson probably wouldn't even buy lub because it's too expensive.
come on, you can do a better pun than that.
Andrew Wilson wont buy lube because he wants you to have a sense of pride and accomplishment of taking it raw.
or how the lube will damage the experience the EA is working so hard to give
I haven't purchased an EA game since Mass Effect 2.
how will EA recover from that terrible loss? guess we will need to sell more FIFA cards
>it's too bad nobody else thinks this way
Wrong.
Never! fuck EA for forcing us to grind for 2 hours instead of paying 4 dollars!!
>Populous: The Beginning will never be remastered
Probably not.
EA's that guy who always, just when you think they're doing something right, comes out of left field with a "oh god damn it, why you assholes" thing.
They're so fucking corporate they don't seem able to help this shit. To get away from it they'd have to somehow literally go completely bankrupt, downsize massively, and kick out the kind of people who serve as their board.
no and this pic is just a drop in an ocean of reasons
War for the overworld is dk 3 with different names, they even got the same dude reprising his role mentor.
Well, yes of course!
We as a company always work towards the statisfaction of our customers.
We listen to your complaints and always work on improving our service for the consumer.
Providing the players with enjoyment is our greatest goal and fullfilment, although producing fun can be difficult and we may make mistakes on the way but we learn and improve from them.
The guy just looks like a typical james bond villain.
big publishers are like savage animals, it is not a question of guilt and penance, you put them in a cage or kill them if they dont go in.
Jesus christ what the fuck is with his eyes
Whenever I see an EA apology I always think back about this
EA should never be forgiven.
Did they name is Twilight because they knew its going to be the end of the franchise? its light, forever extinguished. until Rivals
What will it take for you to forgive them?
>Simcity LIMITED edition
>its not that the supply of the game was limited, its that the game itself was limited in scale and the server caps
Never. EA must die.
We are sorry you are feeling upset. we will try better next time until then maybe a surprise mechanic will make you feel better? everybody loves surprises
Impossible. They crossed the point of no return.
Interesting. could you tell me exactly where was that point for future reference?
It started with Origin...
>started with origin
EA was shit LOOOOOOONG before origin.
That was only symptoms back then. Here we had the results.
The studio or the platform?
The former. The latter is simply defecating on the corpse of the former.
no.
Can you elaborate. it started with Origins. what exactly happened? where and when was the point of no return?
neve
RIP Bullfrog
I'd say introducing pay for currency in The Sims Online, and then shutting the servers down a month & a half later was EA at it's pure scummiest, and that happened at least half a decade before Origin became a thing.
I think he is talking about Origin studios. not origin the client/store.
I usually think the EA hate train is dumb but this was the first time it pissed me off.
It didn't even have the decency to try and hide its money-grubbing either, a minute in and it's exactly like every other mobile piece of shit energy-based bileware skinner box
Nope.
BEETLE ADVENTURE RACING
is the most soulful game they made.
Miss me?
Not at all John Ricandmorty.
Never mind they published this too lol
>bought out a lot of decent companies
>forced those companies to make games with various restrictions and shitty deadlines
>closed down companies because the resulting game flopped
>they're out there defending lootboxes and acting cognitively dissonant hoping they can trick european politicians to believe that lootboxes aren't gambling
Literally the worst thing to happen to the videogame industry, they represent every problem of the industry, the rampant corporatism and making games to maximize profit and nothing else, they're the sort of assholes that hire programmers in bulk and then squeeze them dry because they have no unions and there's always other programmers to hire, they even tried to buy Valve for a billion dollars but back when Valve was still good they declined the offer. Everything they touch rots and casual faggots keep eating up their shit and they keep getting away with it, a lot of their profit comes from re-releasing the same sports games over and over so they can afford to fuck over developers to have an excuse to close down the company
The second worst company is Epic Games but that's because they do as much scummy shit as EA, they spout the same kind of dumb shit saying that buying out developers to release their games on a shitty knock-off platform that lacks features and datamines your Steam information is competition, and I also dislike them because they're providing a foothold for chinks into the vidya industry, even if Tencent's largest shareholder is a guy from South Africa
There's nothing wrong with deadlines, and AFAIK EA rarely tells developers what to do in any direct sense.
Developers are more to blame for the EA cancer because they're too greedy to just say no to being bought out. If more developers were like Valve then EA couldn't exist.
Fuck off Andrew Wilson
>There's nothing wrong with deadlines
there is when they're unreasonable. do you have any idea how much pressure EA put to force games to be ready for release windows (like before Christmas)
>and AFAIK EA rarely tells developers what to do in any direct sense.
they do. often. Westwood CEO said that EA flat out told them they expect them to make hits one after the other.
>Developers are more to blame for the EA cancer because they're too greedy to just say no to being bought out. If more developers were like Valve then EA couldn't exist.
Its not that simple. there are several ways to take over a company, it can be a hostile takeover. or it can be EAs favorite method - lure them in with a good deal, but have a exclusive publisher deal. now their IP is shacked to EA and they cant make any sequels without EA as a the publisher and EA can force terms. its almost like a drugs dealer - they give you the good shit and a great deal for the first time but once they got the claws in you, you're fucked.
Free market will fix itself, you commie.
Deadlines need to exist because otherwise you get interminable vaporware, which can be a harmless disappointment at best (DNF) or predatory at worst (star shitizen).
My issue with developers using a publisher as a scapegoat is that it lets them get off for their own fuck-ups. Bioware is the worst example of this where they got lazy with ME3 and just blamed it for being shitty on the suits they were taking blood money from even though they hadn't changed since ME2.
I could maybe buy what you're saying if it were 30+ years ago and small developers were naive about how evil and ruthless megacorps are, but even in the early 00s teams like Westwood had no excuse. They could've and should've said no.
Were not the bad guys what? Finish your sentences, retard.
Holy fuck why did no one tell me about this game before? AHHHH
You better start posting evidence to back up your claim here.
Because it started out as a kickstarter, and went early access on steam, so it rightfully should have flew under your radar.
Well I'm really glad I stumbled upon it now because fuck me I loved Dungeon Keeper 2.
>Deadlines need to exist because otherwise you get interminable vaporware, which can be a harmless disappointment at best (DNF) or predatory at worst (star shitizen).
but they need to be reasonable.
>I could maybe buy what you're saying if it were 30+ years ago and small developers were naive about how evil and ruthless megacorps are, but even in the early 00s teams like Westwood had no excuse. They could've and should've said no.
Westwood was taken over in 1998, so you're kinda making my point for me. and its not easy for a small studio to say no to this, especially back then before digital distribution was a thing and publisher were vital so this publisher is coming to you with a wonderful offer and you're gonna refuse? for a clause that might screw you over if the publisher chooses to AND the IP is successful?
