Is it better than the original?
Is it better than the original?
DQB2 does everything the first one did much better and is a much better game overall
Except the 60 hour tutorial with a mountain of text behind every tiny thing you do.
>Be sure to do X!
>I will tell you three times so you do not forget
>And there are at least 3 npcs on the way who will remind you
>Praise Hargon!
So far as of completion of the first chapter, its pacing starting out is worse than the first one. It's because of the focus on harvesting crops though which isn't taught until the 2nd chapter of Builders 1.
I'm kind of annoyed they locked fishing behind one of the DLCs but this game is so fucking fun. Only real issue I've had so far is the sheer amount of text you have to read through at times.
I don't care about spoilers on this. Do I get to shut Lulu up. I don't get why DQ insists on characters like this but every time she's on screen she vomits up something about Lulutopia and it's just annoying.
I'd rather make mega evil hell castle or whatever Malroth wants because he's at least endearing for a little shit goblin. Lulu sucks ass.
She stays behind when you go to different islands so you barely see her most of the game
Anyone else autistic with making pathing to buildings? Animal Crossing did this to me.
Is the exploration more rewarding in the sequel? Are there optional/hdiden dungeons to discover? I liked the idea of getting to explore the map and encountering Dragons or finding treasure, but there wasn't much of that in the first game.
Yeah that's what's bothering me. She was already grating when I was stuck with her (I'm sick of her character type in DQ games)
Literal second I came back after the first island all she says is "This is my town mine mine mine" and it's just *fuck off* this isn't endearing. It's annoying. I want a text box that just tells her to shut the hell up.
>DQB1
>tfw you first make it to chapter 4
Does DQB2 even come close to that feeling of nothingness and despair that DQB1 chapter 4 had? That shit was pretty intense.
>"Oh so you thought you've been starting out with nothing before? "I'll show you true nothing"
who's the cute and funny character on the left? :)
I was so surprised when I got to chapter 4. You literally have nothing. It was nice scrounging up just enough resources just to survive till the next day.
Does either map theme from 2 ever play? Still on the farm island.
How come every time I turn around Babs has undergone some sort metamorphism? How she looks at the beginning is completely different from her final form and It's really jarring
Babs is a WHORE
im enjoying it so far, still on the farm island and hoping it wont hold my hand like this for too much longer. i could figure out half the shit by just playing the game instead of reading 30 dialogue boxes
Game is mega comfy.
Its like the chapters of the first game, but this time they're islands. You go to the islands in search of people to help build your personal island (The demo Island). The events on the island is what you would expect from DQB1, but with better delivery in my opinion. The huge difference is you can revisit the old islands to explore/collect so you don't have to feel like you wasted effort and feels like a more cohesive world.
Just finished The second island and I'm really enjoying the finales. The way everyone comes together is bitter sweet, but It feels much more like you're restoring the power to build much more than the first game.
If you liked the first one, its better in most ways.
Finally, Lulu is a piece of shit.
>not making a fuckdungeon deep underground and assigning it as Lulus room
Some of the stuff people have built in the snapshots is insane
You as a girl
>tfw only just realized you can pause the game by clicking in the right stick
Can faggot monsters stop attacking for ONE second Im trying to build Babs house AKA the town brothel.
>tfw you spy a little shit eating silver slime
Babs loves BIG GOLEM COCK
The amount of dialog is excessive, its so redundant half the dialog is them either reinforcing the single plot thread or being handholdy. OH boy can't wait to see her dance. I barely have any character traits but text is funny to show my wacky personality
Try to switch to hammer game then any one of many follower npc accidentally will activate text box. They had multiple paragraphs explaining that you needed put down tracks to finish it. I can see the gaps I can see the stash of tracks you me to use. Just shut the fuck up and let play the game, You could cut out half of it and wouldn't make a difference.
Yeah, it's pretty fun to do. There are even dedicated path tiles, but not on the desert level.
Does this game have cross play?
>load up game
>figure I'll just plant a few tomatoes
>check clock
>5 hours have passed
Literally (you)
Its almost 1.30 AM and im playing this shit and I have work in 5 hours.
I've been playing all the weekend straight. Send help.
Seems to be good, but I have to say first chapter of the original is better. Then again, I also hated farming chapter of the original, so no surprises there.
Holy shit this
>i'll just play through some of the story
>realize it's morning and the only reason i stopped is because i have a headache
please tell me there's not speed run challenges in this game, that almost make me drop the original
>one the desert level where I have to rebuild the mine looking for iron
>cant find it anywhere and waste all my bombs blowing up tons of walls
>finally realise I had to finish the Inn before I could continue
yes i am retarded!!!
>tfw watching everyone come together to build the tree
Fuck that was great.
The direction is a bit too hand holdy for me, maybe the first was the same but it has been 3 years. I enjoy building in the Isle of Awakening and discovering new type of rooms.
>Finally finish chapter 1 after autistic town building to maximize crop output
>Get to landscaping Isle of Awakening
>Spend day and half getting Green Gardens up from that miserable valley to be on the same level as the River
>Tfw have to go to work 6am monday morning but I'd rather be townbuilding
>tfw Pastor Al dies
I made sure to take the best grave from the church ruins and place it right next to the bell
>Polished Minecraft game that lets me boss around villagers
>Village can be set up where everything is autonomous
>Dedicated roof blocks that corner correctly
>Jar that can spit out water infinite without having to refill
>Rooms tell you what they are and can be changed (bathroom, kitchen, bedroom)
>Game has an overall charming look and reminds me of GameCube Harvest Moon
I'm not even excited for Animal Crossing anymore, this game has every little autistic thing I want.
What's the multiplayer like? multi console, couch play, online play? Is it even fun?
Is there anything to do post-game?
