Unoptimized games

This is the thread for complaining about stupidly unoptimized games.
Why does this game run so fucking shitty? I know my hardware isn't the most bleeding edge gaymer shit in the world, but there's no reason that a game from 2007 should run so abysmally on an FX8350 and an R9 390X. It seems to get more and more unoptimized every single year. Not even CSGO has this problem.

Abundance of shiny cosmetics. Also the reason why Dota 2 runs like shit now too.

its built on spaghetti code and the game uses the cpu for particle effects which leads to stuff like cosmetics and unusuals making the game run like shit

Is there a mod to turn off cosmetics?

It pisses me off because this game is literally the only reason I use a PC with better specs than a Core2Duo. The kind of games I'm into are like arena shooters, visual novels and /vr/ shit. I still can't get over it all these years later that it used to run just fine on my Pentium 4.

Jesus christ you fucking faggot. You have to be braindead fucking stupid not to notice how horribly unoptimized this game has become since gun mettle. You could easily get 300+ fps on upward pre gun mettle and now you can barely maintain a smooth 144hz. Overwatch is for fucking faggots but you should still kill yourself for being this fucking retarded.

Fucking this. I play on Linux which gives me better performance than it does on Windows and it still runs like hot diarrhea.

I played this game since 2011, got over 1,500 hours in and I just had to quit playing this abomination. Maybe I could handle the constant stuttering getting me killed, maybe I could handle my hitscan missing 80% of the time, maybe I can handle the game calculating my damage I do with rockets and hitscan as if it was always at maximum fall off damage and never getting ramp up, maybe I landed more headshots by completely missing my target but put all those together and I had enough of this shit.

Oh and I forgot to mention, I tried over 20 different configs including Chris and masters but nothing and I know I installed it correctly cause my binds work and setting lerp to stupid levels shows.

I've had good luck with most games but Bayonetta stuttered like a motherfucker on my pc

Install mastercomfig 7.0, and learn to setup interp correctly, you want "balanced smoothing" unless you habe a third worlder internet.

tf2 is such a fucking enigma over its performance, the dumbest shit can cause the game to chug and even dumber shit makes the game run better, for a lot of people the game even runs better with textures and models set on high, its fucking insane

Not that the FX 8350 is a great CPU, but TF2's optimization really is inexcusable. I'm guessing its all down towards all the particle effects or models and shit pushing Source far beyond its intended limits
