I think it would be considered one of the best jrpgs ever at least. It never makes lists in the west since few have played it despite being one of the greatest rpgs ever made.

Nintendo was expecting DQ1 to be a huge hit in the West and it sold like trash so they just gave away copies with Nintendo Power, DQ2 sold bad, DQ3 was a massive success in Japan but once again sold like trash here, DQ4 sold bad, so looking at trends, DQ5 probably would have sold badly.

I'm near the end of DQ11 and it's really not very good. I don't get the love for the franchise. It's a fine game but completely uninspired.

Frankly, the SNES version isn't good, so I doubt it would be remembered fondly. It'd be a different story if the PS2 version came out here, riding off the coattails of DQ8 being a crazy popular game.

I really want to say thank you to the anons that convinced me to purchase the mobile version of IV. The controls and graphics are great, and the party chat truly does help to make these games for me. Is Kingdom Hearts even that good?
I've never played it but it doesn't look particularly engaging. The dialogue is atrocious from what I've seen. And I hear the story is all over the place.

The story of KH is fucking retarded but the gameplay ridiculous

KH2 is a very fun game, and it has great music. Don't really care for the story past the intro, though.

it's a mixed bag, the gameplay is great in 1 and 2, "spinoffs" are usually fun, it has some great characters but sora is a complete retard like every shonen main character and kh3 turned out the biggest disappointment and worst handling of story and characters

God, Kingdom Hearts is such a nasty series. I don't want to see anime and Disney in the same place let alone, from what I can tell, a hyper anime plot and tropes; I don't understand the appeal. Hopefully things wrapped up with that third one so I don't have to see it again.

The gameplay is worth playing in Kingdom Hears 1 and 2. Why only those two? Because Square Enix in their "wisdom" literally saw the teams that made Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 and said "Okay steal them and force them to work in Final Fantasy forever."

Costumes for him DON'T work with the other Links.
You have to change your entire style of swinging a sword when you do something as simple as shifting your hands, and Link is probably one of the most touched up veterans in the game despite only getting a few move changes, just on his animation alone. Zelda as a whole was given a lot of love in Ultimate, which is why I can't stand Zelda fags say they're being mistreated when they got the special attention most of the biggest franchises in Smash usually do

You lose out on three unique takes of a character with different physics and gameplans, and get some palette swaps instead. The whole reason the multiple Links thing was even introduced is because the other link don't share the same proportions, it was never strictly abut representation.

If we absolutely couldn't have any other Zelda characters because of whatever retarded faggoty rules Yea Forums sharts out, then Young Link should have been redesigned to use the transformation masks to become Deku, Goron, and Zora Link with Down B and his moveset and stats changing accordingly between forms, with Fierce Deity Link as his Final Smash, and Toon Link should be redesigned to have the Deku Leaf, Skull Hammer, Grappling Hook, and a couple of other Toon Link game weapons/tools along with change up all his A moves.

This style is way better than shitty Dragonball with only two character looks being Goku and Bulma
Also prefer Amanos fantasy designs over Nomuras fashion gay for Gakt garbage with FF

I'm just gonna ask my DQ question here. So I'm playing the SNES DQ3 and beat Zoma with plenty of gas in the tank and got through the first part of bonus dungeon (reached Zenithia). I think my levels are low to mid 40s for my Hero and Warrior and high 30s for my two Sages (formerly a Priest and Wizard).

How ready am I for whatever's at the end?
