Why? The game has had some incredible updates in recent years. It's now possible to grind 4-500k per hour by combining all legit business grinding methods.

Grinding is the point of the game. GTA has always been about owning business, making money, creating a successful empire. Grinding is the point of the game and I get satisfaction when I know I worked hard for that car or property instead of doing some dupe glitch or modding and then you already have everything.
And you know what happens when you skip the grind? You get bored and then you become a try hard and grief grinders who are just trying to make money. These dupe glitch uses don't even care about money so they even use the orbital canon to blow up cargo or worse they do the orbital glitch and leave the lobby.

But no, the game still treating you like a street rat, giving you phone calls to pick up some god damn fake ids, or asking you to deliver stolen cars and shit.
I mean you already got functional taxies and merry-weather rental chopper in the game, so why not just copy that shit and make so that there are personal driver and pilot waiting outside of your CEO office.

I still have a large chunk of money from back in the DNS days. I was extremely frugal when it came to spending it and when I transferred over to the next gen systems on release. I purchased everything (every piece of clothing included) and all the most expensive stuff for BOTH characters even though I only played on one.
Your general idea is correct. It can be fun to grind for missions and the feeling of satisfaction but then you get into the harsh reality of how difficult it can be. If you're on PS4 or Xbox One? Get ready for sweaty kids and ghetto people who insist on having their mic on with background noise who are too poor to get a PC and cope by killing people in Hydras, Oppressors, and the Bunker explosives. Then when you try to retaliate, they turn on Passive Mode and boast how good they are (even though it is an auto aim lobby)
On PC? Get ready for people fucking with you by cheating. Also it's one of those things which every dev does now a days where you can "technically" earn everything you want without spending money, but you would have to work hours and hours a day for weeks.

GTAO might be fun and decent, if it weren't for the absolute mouth breathers you have to play with. How does the glitch work?
I really wish there was some kind of skill tracking in this game for matchmaking. Something like % of times YOU triggered a mission failure vs successful missions, accuracy shot accuracy and % of headshot kills, average distance driven between collisions. Just those parameters would make playing random heists so much more pleasurable for those of us with functioning motor skills

GTA:Online gave me the best life lesson out of all the games I've played. The most fun thing to do in game, in a game that lets you do anything, is give money to and help out others. Bombing lobbys with money was the most fun thing. Doing heists with noobs and getting them through a heist for their first or second time was the most authentic online interaction.
GTA Online is super depressing but also reaffirmed my feelings about how we allocate resources in our economy.
