>I've made a lot of tough decisions since I took this position. But none of them harder than this one. You saved us, but you'll kill us. I'm sorry. You're a hero... and you have to leave.
I've made a lot of tough decisions since I took this position. But none of them harder than this one. You saved us...
alright, later dude
there's some hot brown jailbait in the next town over
I liked how Tim Cain admitted didn't want the ending to be like that (he wanted a party and balloons) and it was Leonard Boyarsky that forced him to end the game that way. Looking forward to The Outer Worlds.
Before this thread is de-railed as to: "Why did he do this?" Its because you've spent so much time in the wasteland you have not only become irradiated and would put your family and friends in danger, its also that your experiences have made you jaded so much so its plainly obvious and there-fore you can never fully re-integrate. While you may want to return it is impossible to forget what you have done and what you have experienced. Its either an allegory for growing up and being unable to return to childhood, or a metaphor for the affects of war and battle upon veterans.
>age of consent in the wasteland
No such thing
FUCK YOU DAD!
I'M TAKING THE DOG!
no dude its cuz the overseer is gealous of the vault man
Obsidian had nothing to do with Fallout, retard
the only correct response
please kill yourself so we never see a post from you again
I have never let him live in all my playthroughs
melon
In this case scenario, its true. If you kill him, he wins, as you would prove him right.
>you have not only become irradiated
But my radiation level was 0
>its also that your experiences have made you jaded so much
But I'm not jaded? You seem to forget this is a role-playing game, not some Japanese game where the writer forces shit on the player's character.
The overseer might assume these things, but they're not true. He's just a shitty overseer as evidenced by the fact he sends ONE PERSON out. What an idiot.
Says the retard that thought Obsidian made Fallout 1
dude lmao
Actually since there's so many corpse outside the vault, he probably sent multiple groups of ONE PERSON.
dumb nig
>He's just a shitty overseer
exactly, he realized you would just take over the vault and have him killed if he let you back in.
thats a fulfilling prophecy brainlet
Oh I agree, it may have all been sensible assumptions, they may have all been true. Thats the appeal of the game.

These points aside there's also the reason that your actions have made you a legend in the Vault regardless. You're an icon for the power/adventure/possibility of leaving the Vault in general. When you return to Vault 13, NPCs will tell you that their kids think you're a hero.
The fact that the canon VD was violent, depressed and jaded by the end of F1 was just icing on the cake.
>if you kill them they win
vault dweller dummy thick
I never beat this game cause the combat is fucking boring. I beat Arcanum instead. The lack of swearing in that game was kinda sad.
Boyarsky and Tim Cain are lead directors on Outer Worlds, retard.
>Hey. You can't come home because you've changed. You're a violent asshole now.
>You're wrong you fukkin retard! JUST DIE!!!!
>literally blows the guy into gore
>Heh. I'm not some pussy cuck like you, dumb lib. He didn't win. He was wrong, I was right.
>One (1) artist and one (1) programmer
Stop getting lost in the reeds because you realized you slipped up. The original post was admiring Cain and Boyarsky's creative inputs on Fallout and saying they look forward to more of that same input from them on OW.
You were wrong, don't keep digging your hole further you dipstick.
Now do you know why Bethesda doesn't put any effort on their Fallout games? Because of people like this guy.
Thats his point you moron. If you kill him it proves his point, if you let him go its letting him get away with it. Its a situation where you can only loose.
top kek
It was an attempt to shill Obsidian's new game by pretending the people responsible for Fallout are in charge of the new one. No one talks about Fallout because of its fucking art.
In replaying this recently its actually really surprising how much this ending elevates the game. I thought it was neat before, but this time it really struck me well and I don't know why.
being dead is the ultimate loss
But Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky are legitimately two of the three guys that were largely responsible for the heart of Fallout. They also made Arcanum and Bloodlines.
Fallout 1 and 2 (2 less so in my opinion) ages like fine wine.
>No one talks about Fallout because of its fucking art.
Is this a fucking meme? The art-style and aesthetic of the setting is literally one of its biggest selling points. Jesus Christ some real mental heavy hitters on Yea Forums today.
When you get the game, please don't post on v and pretend it was a good.
0.03 Yuans were added to your account, chinks
Yes in a grug caveman win/lose but the point is that whilst killing him obviously is a loss for him, he's still right and in killing him you've only made him more right.
If you have room-temp IQ smooth brain conflation of the two concepts I can see the confusion though.
Dude ends up dying anyway when the Vaults Dwellers rebel. There's only losing available for him.
It's not the radiation it's more your second point. The VD wouldn't be able to sit still and would inspire others to leave, the overseer sees you as a threat to his order, a dark knight he had to create in dark times. Pic unrelated.
you can't be anything if your dead
>I have no argument and I must scream
Well, to be honest, an ending with party and balloons wouldn't have led anywhere, start of Fallout 2 builds upon how Fallout 1 ended.
Despite how nonsensical it is, I think in the long run it ended up being fruitful and it's interesting to wonder how much differently Fallout 2 would've shaped out if Boyarsky didn't insist on this ending.
>Hey, I think this bridge has some structural issues. It needs work, or it could be dangerous
>bridge collapses and man dies
>"Hey, I guess he was right after all huh."
>UH, NO YOU DUMB KEK, HE'S DEAD HE CAN'T BE ANYTHING
Why was he on the bridge if he knew it was dangerous structurally unsound?
NIGGER!
This.
Massive retard.
>analogy.exe stopped working
That's Yea Forums in a nutshell
>instigate anger from someone by banning them from ever seeing their families again
>get surprised when you face the consequences for your shitty actions
It’s like wearing a swastika in public. Sure, punching people in general is bad, but how will Nazis stop being racist if there’s never any punishment for their actions?
>argument.exe stopped working
>ad hominem and being rude is my only argument
Leave this place. nuObsidian, OW and Bloodlines 2 is sjw garbage
BAIT POST DO NOT REPLY, THIS SHALL BE THE ONLY (YOU) IT GETS
>muh sjw
rent free
>ad hominem and being rude is my only argument
Except it wasn't. I literally just explained to you that the art-style and aesthetic of the Fallout world was and still continues to be a major selling point. Ask your mother to read the post for you again.
This guy gets it
I don’t get why people hate his guts.
He’s obviously not happy that he has to send you back out, but he’s doing it for the greater good. He even calls you a hero and says he’s sorry.
If he said “lol thanks stupid now go out ur banned xd” or something along those lines then I’d agree with everyone’s hatred.
Cain and Boyarsky have yet to fail me
Fallout was great
Arcanum was great
Bloodlines was great
I believe in them
Outer Worlds is gonna be, at the very least, one of the best RPGs of the year
Actually it's true, I know several people who refuse to play classic Fallouts because, these are various reasons that have come up from different people:
1) it looks ugly
2) UI and control seem too complicated/incomprehensible
3) too much micromanagement
4) can't deal with isometric view
5) don't get SPECIAL and afraid will fuck up build before it even starts
As you know, Bethesda "solved" all of these issues.
If you can only lose, killing him just softens the blow, and that's why I always kill him.
There's no reason to not kill him
and ultimately he was right too. For one, the Vault Dweller in his memoirs even admits he had been changed by the wasteland.
Secondly the premise of Fallout 2's Arroyo is that a bunch of dwellers left the vault in searrch of the VD to follow his adventure.
no it's fucking not. It's because you pissed off the master and had a group of fucking super mutants chasing after you. you're looking way too deep into it.
Fallout 1/2 gore only has the same three or four animations but damn they’re good animations.
How many of these people were born before the game came out?
>the greater good
he was a tyrant
As much as I want to love them, ever since Fallout 2 all their games were just diamonds in the rough. Outer Worlds really seems disgustingly polished in comparison.
Whoa, slow down there! There's no such thing as "rape" in Uncle Todd's wacky wasteland theme park! Nuclear armegeddon and rampant gore are a-OK, but we can't have premarital non consensual sex you filthy degenerate!
He's just following the Vault Tec protocols. Mostly overseers would do the same.
>Its either an allegory for growing up and being unable to return to childhood, or a metaphor for the affects of war and battle upon veterans.
Actually its just sequel bait.
>you have not only become irradiated and would put your family and friends in danger
This is not how it works.
Jacoren :
>fully aware of the Vault Experiment program conducted by the Enclave
>tried to do everything to keep Vault 13 closed for 200 years, just as the program dictated.
>exile VD
>despite VD's exile, many people chose to follow him into the wasteland
>try to stop those who want to leave and eventually get tried and sentenced to death for his crimes
OOGA BOOGA VAULT NO WATER! GO OUT IN WORLD MAKE WATER NOW! OOH OHH AH AH!!!
Dilate
Only one of the dudes whose opinions I summarized was born in 1997, exact year of release of first Fallout. He's the youngest. But to be fair, ugliness wasn't the pet peeve for him, he just hates turn based games and thinks they are stupid, but he never answers straight if I ask him if he thinks chess is stupid.
>canon VD had all of his companions die horribly in front of him
I wish Fallout 3 and 4 were better written
Did the memoirs even mention Katja and Tycho?
Obvious Epic gaymes shill.
holy shit btfo
It's a classic Odyssey ending. The journey fundamentally changed the Vault Dweller so much that he doesn't belong in his own home anymore, even though he spent so much time trying to save it and return to it.
NV is shit too btw
No. I'm a Cain and Boyarsky shill.
Wrong
The Fallout 3 reference was top kino. The game was 100% true to its roots. Really put a smile on my face.
Doesn't matter. You're shilling for Epic by extension and thus you need to fuck off.
Fallout 2 retconned any shed of decency the Overseer from Vault 13 had, by saying "uhh acshually the old coot was an Enclave's coy all along"
I don't give a shit about your retarded store wars. Also, it's on Game Pass and the Microsoft store anyways.
If it's not on Steam, it doesn't matter.
You realize the game is coming out on PC via the Xbox game pass on release day as well, right? No one is getting it on Epic.
cringe
You need to have either the Bloody Mess trait or very negative karma to trigger this event.
>Retards outing themselves as retards by calling others retards
Truly these moments are the highlight of my day
You can just do it manually by triggering combat before he walks offscreen
Are there any Fallout 1/2 mods worth checking out? I'd like to see new locations, quests, enemies etc.
>implying I would ever respond to a FGO tranny to begin with
>classic Fallout thread? cool!
>nevermind, it's just incels telling each other to dilate
Damn, what a moron.
drink a beer
Have fuck and suck.
milkies
Your smug cute corrupt anime bride is cute.
You act like winning an argument means anything. That's probably why you spend time arguing on Yea Forums.
what went right?
kek it's like seeing the female version vs. the male version of a set of armor
I agree.
And it's not just the narrative parts, really. There's an inherently stronger feel of accomplishment tied to all the various rewards and endings in NV and the expansions. Be it joining Elijah in Sierra Madre and making a holo-army, or just getting access to his replicator machine with an endless supply of chips, or taking control of all those securitrons and upgrading them.
I think it's something about the Obsidian team's take on how to make the player feel like he's affecting stuff, and gathering strength and whatnot. Just felt like fun all through. And I've reinstalled the damn game six times or so now
FO4 did power armor justice visually, but I hated everything about how it played.
Everything about power armor is the only thing Fallout 4 got right.
Have beer
Did New Vegas skip leg day
>>Hey. You can't come home because you've changed. You're a violent asshole now.
>I have changed, but that very change is what has made me able to protect our loved ones from the perceived dangers of the world. You view me as a danger, but you're unable to do anything to stop me because you do not have what it takes to protect them. More than that, your argument is a false dichotomy that if I don't give in to your whims then I am proving you right. Defending one's home or his right to live peacefully there is not an unjust act. Defending one's rights and property with force is not an unprovocated attack.
>Guy doesn't back down and gets shot.
Vault Tec protocols
wasn't it retconned in fallout 2 that the enclave told him to do it?
Another reason to dislike Fallout 2. It undercuts the brilliance of 1's ending
Only 2 is a legitimate complaint
Vault 101 was such squandered potential
>Moribund World
>New Fallout 4 T-51 retexture
Nnnnnnggghh I can almost trick myself into believing its Fallout
Rape is more degenerate than murder.
5 is a legitimate complaint as well. There's a lot of useless skills in 1/2
That's fair
Horrible anal orgy user
dude
Chicago armor is superior.
> if you kill your enemies they win
Fuck off, prime substitute teacher of canada
Cain and Boyarsky are the ones in charge of outer worlds you dumb nigger. That said I don't have high Hope's for that shit, that PAX footage wasn't great.
Fallout: Australia when?
Didn't he outright say he doesn't want people leaving the vault, and they'll see you and think "well it can't be that bad if user made it, right" And head out?
>Its either an allegory for growing up and being unable to return to childhood
Tired of games that do this such a weak way to catch player emotions
If it wasn't for Fallout 2's "actually he was evil all along!" shit I'd fully agree with you, but the ending of 1 is ruined now.
>No one talks about Fallout because of its fucking art.
It's not very impressive nowadays but back then it was amazing what they accomplished with limited color palette and primitive technology.
Implying Cain/Leonard were nobodies when it comes to the original is just stupid, between this and the art comment you look like a ignorant Bethesda bandwagoner.
Same energy
based retard
>Fallout 3 and New Vegas got the movement right but the proportions wrong
>Fallout 4 got the proportions right but the movement wrong
Fallout 1 and 2 clearly show that power armor is not some hulking slow-ass tank, but a simple objective improvement over standard armor of a soldier. You move just as fast and you are exactly as agile, you are just stronger and more durable.
Ive never played 2, what did it do to the overseer?
Fallout 2 restoration project if you haven’t already. Restores all the cut content/quests/characters.
Do you guys have one of those images to roll a character? I wanna play this shit again but can't come up with a decent idea for a run.
Other than the giant mess of cables and tubes coming out of the back of the helmet
A roll image won't give you a decent idea it will just give you a random idea.
You can join Elijah? Every playthrough of mine he ends up attacking me.
Yeah, it's possible. I don't remember specifically the dialogue choices leading up ro it, but I remember doing it many years ago. If you do it, the game ends with this special ending where you and Elijah stay inside Sierra Madra and research/work, finally being able to spread the red mist outwards. Then marching armies of holograms out of it to conquer everything (or somesuch)
Sounds shit desu, Mr House would've wanted me to dismember Elijah anyways.
Is his left arm twitching after it’s blown off?
>Caesar is a brainlet that fails to realize that Pre-War America and most European countries was inspired by Rome
Just Ian and Dogmeat, i think
They still are not Rome though.
He wasn't trying to actually recreate Rome's system of government. He was trying to conjure a powerful image as a propaganda tool.
Nothing. Fuck Nu-Power Armor
does it matter how right he was if he's dead?
>inspired by Rome
Yes, because now EVERYONE knows how right he was because you proved his point. That's like 300% more rightness
You can't fight ideas with bullets.
>get hit by riot prod
Gimme the GEP gun.
that's terror
The GEP gun is the most silent way to eliminate Manderley
were others around during that? I don't fucking remember, I thought it was just you two
if you kill the people who have the ideas then you can
Relax, you don't have to be right about everything. Which is handy, since no one is. Try having fun instead of dying on a hill over a Fallout quote.
>if you kill the people who have the ideas then you can
That's a good way to turn neutral parties against you.
So was this thread just made as a sneaky way to shill Outer Worlds? Pathetic.
not if they don't know
Bethesda can't make proper pants
>witnessed the failures of multiculturalism first hand
>seeks to re create it with the NCR
you kill NCR on sight, right?
>I'm going to murder the Vault Overseer and then not get caught by the Vault full of people who know me and know the victim
>No one will know it was me
uhhh
>reference
Is that what they call blatant theft nowadays?
Thank God there are sane people around.
I always say Fallout 2 is the worst Fallout out of the canon trilogy (FO1, FO2, F:NV), luckily New Vegas paid (mostly) little attention to Vault experiments.
Outer Worlds is gonna be shit and you're retarded
Cain is a one hit wonder
>witnessed the failures of capitalism first hand
>seeks to re create it
The roman empire died of multiculturalism too.
Nothing. People praise Fallout 4's power armor, but I always thought the proportions were wrong, and it seems like a mecha instead of a proper suit. The aesthetic is simply off.
>What is Arcanum
>What is Bloodlines
Cain didn't work on Bloodlines.
Nothing. Some of the powered power armor suits have holes in them and you can see the frame beneath, meaning it's unarmored. Also, you can't use POWER FIST with POWER ARMOR for some reason.
Yeah, it's almost like armor needs to be able to move around or something. Weird!
No you retard, the frame isn't supposed to be showing. Oh, and there's the shitty mechanical hands too.
Oh, you mean the progression didn't go right. I thought you meant all power armor in Fallout was retarded because it has gaps to allow the user to walk and use their arms.
I'm sick and out of it today, user.
feed and seed
retard
NV still had some dumb experiments, but at least they had regular vaults too. 3 was totally normal except for some shoddy construction and 22 wasn't intended to turn into a fungus shitshow. 34 is a bit of a stretch, but it wasn't intended to kill people either. If the retarded overseer had just let people leave then the population might not have exceeded their capacity
>New Vegas had some DUMB experiments like the voting thing! it was stupid!
>what do you LE GARY is stupid??? fuck you!
I'm your prom date you ugly sack of shit.
>"You look like you belong in a battle mech game. This is Fallout 2. Perhaps you opened the wrong folder on your hard drive?"
A vault where the computer tells you to sacrifice someone to the robot death squad every year or face ambiguous consequences, in-universe, is pretty dumb. That's why the survivors an heroed, because they realized what idiots they'd been
fucking willpower keeping that blood in lmao
>accidentally bring a follower into the final room
>can't save em
Sorry, Boone.
*shoots him so that he dies in an agonisingly gory way*
heh.... nothing personnel Overseer....
JUST GIMME THE CHIP
The problem with the whole "you saved us but you'll kill us" thing is that people were already thinking of leaving the vault DURING your quest, so I don't see how exiling the VD would have solved anything. All the overseer did was slow down the inevitable. But also this too.
You know, I know FO4 gets a lot of shit, and I myself dropped it shortly after getting to Diamond City because it was boring, but I actually liked power armor a lot in it. Not only the aesthetics and customization, but the whole power core thing. I hate that it retconned how power armors worked, since they could have come up with any other excuse, but from a gameplay perspective it was a pretty good way to fix a problem with getting power armor in most Fallout games, which is that essentially won the game for you. I know that's the point of them, which is why you only got them near the end game in FO1 and FO2, but it took the challenge away from those games. FO3 and New Vegas had to nerf them to the point where they didn't even feel like power armor anymore, but they were still so superior than other armors that it made light and medium armors useless unless you were doing a stealth based character. In FO4 you get to be a walking tank, but only if you saved the power cores and constantly use resources to your power armor. Fuck the T60 though. That abomination should have never been made.
he should have told you from thw start you faggot. it was his plan all along and hes a piece of shit for telling you at the last leg.
>Fallout 4's power armor is so cool it's the best thing in fallout EVER!
>what do you mean you can't use a power fist? uhhh s-s-so what? it's not like anyone ever used that build, just do stealth archer like every bethesda game is meant to be played!
I like how this ending is referenced in Arcanum
one of the quests presents the situation of a guy sent on a mission from a hidden mage-city to get some artifact and his boss refuses to let him back in because the guy turned into a technologist complete with powered armor and shit during his quest and you have to get the artifact from him
T-60 would be [mostly] fine if it were a post-war invention of the BoS. It's basically a chunkier T-45 since they don't seem to be able to replicate the advanced materials of the T-51. But having the T-51, T-60, AND X-01 somehow simultaneously being the pinnacle of pre-war armour development is stupid. If there are three of them and each is better than the last, how are they each the best?
have you seen how retarded the vault niggers are? say something happened and you avenged him
they know nothing of the outside world
>nungh?
Yes, you can touch things
Yeah, they turned into stinky cheese
FO4 armor wasn't a bad idea, it just wasn't power armor at all.
The power armor in Fallout has always been more of just a straight advancement in armor, not some mech. People suffer no loss of agility or movement range in them. The fact that they could not even use standard power armor equipment was just a laugh on top of it.
I should really play Fallout 1/2
This is actually a good point, user. I concede that you might get away with it just by saying some Mutie did it and you've gotta go catch the Mutie
>leaves Vault
>never comes back
FO4 did a lot of good things, whilst going backwards on some things.
I have a love/hate relationship with it. I like the engine, the base building, the crafting, some of the world, the drugs and how you can make them this time and their effects, and even some bits of the story.
Yes you should.
Just keep in mind that it really does get a lot better when you aren't a useless baby and you understand the mechanics.
You should
FO1 is arguably one of the best RPGs made.
>base building was never a thing in fallout
>BRUH THEY DID BASE BUILDING RIGHT BRUH, TOTALLY BRUH. WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT NEVER EXISTED IN FALLOUT? WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT GLITCHES THE FUCK OUT MORE OFTEN THAN NOT?
Kek i believe it
Honestly as far as gameplay goes F2 is a straight improvement over F1.
>I AM SO SILLY argument where you make up stuff and pretend the other guy said it
Most of us agree FO4 is ass, but you don't need to make shit up just because someone actually mentioned things they enjoyed about the game.
the base building was bad and it's wrong for you to enjoy it user
Honestly the real ending is better, it leaves a bigger impact on the player I think.
I'm not the other user as indicated by the way I worded that post. Also, just because you think stuff is bad doesn't mean you need to personally attack strangers with ad hominems simply for having an opinion you don't agree with about a video game.
FO2 has more weapons, items, consumables and such, but the story and world of 1 is better.
The base building is as broken as everything else in that game. NPCs will get stuck and not do their jobs, caravans will flip out and ignore the entrances, defenses are meaningless because the game will just decide to spawn enemies inside the settlement, and the fact that anything bigger than a ghost town will break entirely because the NPCs can't navigate the custom geometry.
I don't disagree. I'm not speaking about the FO4 base building. I'm speaking about how someone saying something mild and inoffensive about a video game isn't a reason to make up a bunch of shitty stuff in greentext and act like a cocksucker just to virtue signal about how superior your taste in digital mind rot is.
Thank you for signaling your virtue in this anonymous image board, please go fuck off.
im not the other user either so now there are 4 anons haha
I need to go to bed I'm just shitposting and "it's wrong for you to enjoy it" was sarcastic
I only meant pure gameplay user, as far as it goes F2 is a proper sequel, as in much more polished and as you said has more to play with.
other stuff varies
It's fitting that someone who doesn't know what virtue signaling means be the one that does it the most.
yeah but i shot that nigger so who cares
But mindlessly being an asshole to someone about how terrible Fallout 4 is when they've done nothing to you isn't at all virtue signalling, is it?
I thought it was fine and added a neat something to do to when the story ended up being relatively shit overall.
I think the emphasis on building up settlements for the Minutemen was shit, as they should have allowed the AI to build their own bases up over time.
But making your own little base was fun to me.
I wish there was an option to just kill or imprison him, and then rule the place like a king.
With their resources and technology, they could RULE the wasteland. It's a near impenitrable fortress. If things get too bad they can retreat. You basically can't besiege them.
vir·tue sig·nal·ing
noun
the action or practice of publicly expressing opinions or sentiments intended to demonstrate one's good character or the moral correctness of one's position on a particular issue.
It's exactly what the "I must shit on anyone who says something positive about a game Yea Forums hates" is though.
No, because I'm not doing it to be validated by my peers, I'm doing it to let that guy who he is a dimwit faggot cocksucker. If I cared what you think, I'd just agree with you.
Shit is broken. And even when it isn't, there's still the rest of the game to deal with. Like the bullet sponge enemies and the looter shooter weapon mechanics that make every single weapon completely meaningless.
The definition doesn't mention peers, user. You could be doing it to validate yourself to yourself. Did you ever think of that?
No the whole “you are a parent/guardian of this child and must protect them” is
>Fallout 1
FIXT
>Fallout 2
Fallout Restoration Project + a mod that makes Miria a real character
Aren't there a bunch of endings where the Enclave and Master's army rush the place and massacre everyone?
To spilt hairs that was more his daughter
Of all the shit Todd pulled with Fallout 4, he got power armor right. Besides the Fusion Cores.
thats when you reveal 13's location to Master, yes
>WORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDS
Wgy do people think long and winded speeches are good writing?
If the vault dweller gathered so much experience and knowledge why did he and the people he guided become a stone age pagan tribe
Why do you think you know what good writing is?
it's not a matter of the overseer himself as an individual being correct or not. it's whether or not his statement/assertion of the fact the Vault Dweller has changed for the worse (for the sake of the vault's community at least) is true.
It is a true statement regardless if the overseer is living or dead. Any other member of the vault could say it and it still be true, especially if you kill the overseer.
>giant empire died due to ONE reason
user, no
Charisma 1
He couldn't communicate his knowledge
Fallout 1 was a lot more memorable for me. I didn't have any problems with Fallout 2, but I had more fun and remember more of Fallout 1.
None of the civilized cities had their shit together except Shady Sands and Necropolis (somewhat), so maybe he just decided tribalism had a better chance for survival
Some guy can just say "fuck niggers" and I can think it's based. that's good writing.
Because Fallout 2 is full of dumb stuff like that. Did you see the vault full of talking deathclaws?
>I can think it's based
>THAT IS GOOD WRITING
So when you say "Why do people think this is good writing?" you really mean that it's entirely subjective. Which makes me wonder why you asked to begin with.
Fallout 2's tribe start is fucking retarded, please don't use headcanon to justify it.
mind=blown
Vault man bunga bunga
Them being a tribe isn't retarded, but being so far from technology is
Because the truth is humans are happiest in small tribes working together to build a little slice of their own civilization.
Or do you honestly think plutocrats controlling 100 million plus people and assaulting their senses constantly with advertisements, taxation, corruption, poisonous food, poisonous water, unwanted largesse, pet programs, debt economics, fractional reserve banking, etc etc etc. is a thing that makes humans happier?
There is a reason we enjoy post-apocalyptic fiction so much: It alludes to freedom from these things or at least an opportunity to be free from them.
Fallout 3 has a lot of rape mentioned.
simpler living for peace made sense but completely regressing and having weird religious beliefs in only 100 years didn't
he can be right but you cant say he won, because being technically correct and winning are not the same thing
Fallout 1.5 and fallout Nevada

Fallout Online 3 is looking pretty good.
"Winning" isn't always winning.
what graphics mod is that nv screenshot using user, it looks pretty good
No, you honestly just want a neo Western. Case of the original FO, Eastern.
A person can be come so irradiated that they can kill people, but someone like that would be losing skin and be dead in a week, and they people they affect wouldn't die for years.
Fuck off reddit
