Throw a festival for the sake of Venus, OP.

I started exporting it instead, will make another festival though.

Feeling a mood to build something autistic.
What's the best city builder? Historical, contemporary or sci-fi, it doesn't really matter.

bump

99% of Caesar 3 problems came from markets.
You know how to handle market = you win the game.

Back when SK had soul.

Too bad not enough people bought the game.

this game was perfect . the sound was great, also the option to go full military or achieve an economic victory

THE objectively superior game.

You should try Emperor.

Every time i install Emperor i play few maps, get an urge to build a pyramid and install Pharaoh instead

I love knights and merchants
>very detailed production - you can see how much units of food or tools every building produced by just looking at it. For instance, when baker made 3 pieces of bread you can see exactly 3 pieces in front of him laying on the table, and it works for every building, you don't even need to click them
>building roads and placing buildings in right places is a key to good economy
>everyone needs food so you need to not overbuild serfs/army or you will be completely fucked, because units refuse to work when they're hungry and will eventually die
>extremely hard to produce troops so you have to be good at fighting and positioning
>fighting and positioning is unique, you can change formations and it's extremely important to use your surroundings to your advantage, like putting archers on the hill or it tight spaces so it will be hard to reach them
>range units needs to be adjusted towards enemy or they won't shoot, can be hard to get used to at first
>some units hardcounter others so you have to build right composition to be successful
>campaign is fucking brutal because AI always has extreme economy where he can easily produce/feed large amount of troops

That's an interesting piece because it half sounds like lute music*, but isn't quite intricate enough so it ends up sounding more like a lullaby.

Cultures is great too
>campaign maps are enormous with a lot of shit to do and to explore
>every viking is male/female
>to produce any new vikings you have to first marry them, then provide food sources, home and then they will make babies (girl/boy)
>female can only be a housewives
>can rename every unit
>every unit has experience so you can change professions on the fly
>the better working conditions the faster production
>those conditions are:shoes, tools, home, wife, roads (faster speed) , talking, resting, sometimes praying and food
>they can be homeless and eat wild berries/fruits but they will work much slower
>also they need signposts so they don't get lost and die of hunger
>troops can equip different armor/potions/weapons from chests all around the map or from your barraks so you can change compositions on the fly
It's borderline autistically complicated game and I love it

>olive trees on athena's monument
that game had so many neat little details like that

Yeah, I forgot about it because I'm so tired of listening to them. Soundtrack is amazing

God I wish I wasn’t apparently terrible. I played through Baldur’s Gate, and then I play this and I can’t even get through Vale of Shadows

Don't worry user, I really like BG2 and played through the game and all expansions several time in my teen years but can't fucking get into IWD

the pain is real

Attached: strong.jpg (1904x2532, 1.93M)

I played a PC game at my friends house when we were kids where you hired adventurers but didn't directly control them. One of the first enemies was a ladybug, and the art style was this but with less trees and a little more fantasy. I haven't been able to find this game for years and hope someone here would know. Pretty sure you could hire warriors, magic ladies and then more people.

Not sure what kind of units are you talking about but that sounds like Majesty

They really are bad at making 3D RTS, they didn't progress at all since the release of Stronghold 2, that also includes animations.

stronghold is such a great concept, a competent dev needs to steal the idea already

they are apparently also making "Romans: Age of Caesar" in 2D which looks like shit too

Better than RDR.

Attached: 20190327052639_1.jpg (1920x1080, 262K)

Spires of Death was the hardest for me. Is that barbarian mission really hard, I remember it being only expert difficulty

Attached: 20180307164544_1.jpg (1920x1080, 775K)

You have to either kill the avatar of Krolm or destroy his altars. Don't remember how many altars there are, but each time you destroy one, the avatar chimps out and goes nuclear on your base, alongside waves of extra barbarians that fuck up your towers in manners of seconds. With each altar destroyed, the avatar weakens, but he's still insanely powerful and wrecks people left and right with ease.

Didn't play it yet but I heard it's really good.
Is sequel really bad? I know 3rd part comes out this year

man google can't identify games you're posting. Name?

Yandex does image searching better.
Google sucks at identifying images.

Doesn't resemble the original at all in art style. Some characters are completely different and way worse than the original, which is quite an achievement since the original has some pretty dated textures. The remake is also a buggy mess that crashes constantly. Tried playing it and I ended up ragequitting due to all the crashes, while the original runs perfectly fine. Oh, and of course, it has one of those terrible intros with artwork that's terribly animated, while the original has a perfectly serviceable cinematic intro.

There's one more issue I have with the remake, but that might just be due to nostalgia. I legit feel nothing when looking at it and playing it. With all the graphical improvements it adds, it just completely fails to make me want to play it, while the original instantly gets me hooked.

Balrum. It's an alright turn based cRPG. It can be brutal at times with some enemies that can fuck you over big time. It's also a pretty lengthy game if you decide to explore every nook and cranny. Got 80 hours out of it.

For anyone that finished the campaign, what was the end game for Pharaoh like?
I played it as a kid and only made it maybe halfway through before it got too tough for me

Played long enough to get 10k people and now receiving error "data limit reached - see readme". I have to put it down. My sales from export are unstable anyway.
It is hard, mainly because you've got to watch what kind of roads your workers take, or else they can wonder off just to take wheat on the other side of the map, on non-peaceful maps you can at least separate areas with gates and also there's a system for aging population in place, old workers just die off and either replaced by new generation, or immigrants. And if they didn't make babies from good life you're fucked in next generation. There are a lot of small neat systems like this that complicate it and place it above games like Anno or Tropico.

Sometimes even living too good is bad for your population, because they start making villas that get bunch of people thrown out from a house, and you need to separate plebs from patricians exactly because of it (i never did so far, my buildings evolve and devolve like fucking equalizer). And old people neither work nor vacate place for immigrants, they are a nuisance.

>removed music because of copyright shit
faggots

It might've been a shameless cashgrab, but still, it somehow managed to be a pretty soulful game.

WTF
I didn't know they removed the music.
I own the disc and don't have a digital copy.
That's fucking gay.

Has any other third person game had animations for when your character gets shot in the head? Remember playing it for the first time and it blew me away with how much attention to detail it had.

What about the first game, did It age well?

if you run this in high res how far can you zoom in??? i tried playing rtc2 in high res and even at the highest zoom stuff was still too small

Post games with this angle

Don't know, haven't played it in ages.

You can't zoom in. I play like this only because i have 29" monitor and i sit very close to the screen.

>And old people neither work nor vacate place for immigrants, they are a nuisance.

Obviously he wanted to correct that shit taste of yours.

>mainly because you've got to watch what kind of roads your workers take, or else they can wonder off just to take wheat on the other side of the map
That got solved in Emperor with road blocks.
You can force your workers to take the exact way you want them to.

He wanted you to be smart, and probably learn something from those games. Both are historical after all.

Zeus, Pharaoh, Emperor.

Attached: emperor.jpg (640x480, 142K)

Sure, the graphics might be outdated and, for some people, bad, but find me another game where you can take a redneck that just vomited in your casino downstairs and have your bouncers beat him to death. Try finding me another casino games where you can actually enter rival casinos and can hire hitmen to go and shoot up the place or blow it up and drive it out of business.

absolute vidya kino here

Attached: Wulfram 2.jpg (640x480, 176K)

I wanted to like it after replaying it, but the lack of simple features found in later games, like roadblocks, kills the experience.

They have less bone armor everywhere.

Emperor is more streamlined. Fighting Caesar III bugs is part of its fun. Game is like a puzzle where you're thrown in without knowing its rules.

>tfw company already went under.

From the ugly artstyle, through nigras, lack of originality over things it was copying, to copied bad design elements it didn't overcome.
Peak soulless

i use to play multiplayer with this one random dude i meet in 2007, we played for hours on end every sept, (he was on holidays then)

he couldn't speak English every well, it didn't really matter.
in 2014 he told me that he works for the Ukrainian armed forces, and wouldn't be able to play this year.
he was shot down in Aug 2014. 8 days after he told me.

a few weeks ago, i travelled to Ukraine to bury him.
his body was just "found" by Russians in the area.

This company still consist of original stronghold founders. They tries to adapt to modern standard but failed

they could just release big expansions like SH crusader and be successful, pretty sure there were some serious staff changes

>get to the expansion missions
>get stuck on all the available ones after a while

>tfw no /cbg/ anymore

There is a mission where you have to destroy lairs, it meant to be finished by cheesing them with towers-spell spam. I just used cheat code

I refuse to tower spell-spam out of principle

It was trash anyway.
>autistic legos everywhere
>no one actually playing games

There is no other way to finish the mission because it's on timer and you can't just turtle and levelup your heroes/build economy

It could be another twenty years before we get another game as good as SC4.

I wish I wasn't so shitty at this game.

I wish I could get past realization that there is no enemy or army and get into simcity

Don't bother, the community is utter shit and the game doesn't offer much without massive modding.
And since the community is shit, you wouldn't know which mods aren't shit. And since vast majority of them is shit, you wouldn't figure it out.

It's not worth getting into.

In doing so you will git gud

What is this?

dungeon siege 2

WELCOME

TO ZEUS

I think it actually defaulted to Hard difficulty for some reason. Plus, it's pretty easy for things to get fucked up just by random chance, due to the "walker" system. I could never figure out a good way to control how houses upgrade, because all it takes is the AI deciding to take a different path one day to fuck up all your plans.

my nigga, this is one my favorite argps

America is such an overused name that even if you type American game on youtube, you get results like Suberb Owl instead

basically avoid intersections at all cost, the later games added a road block to you could have a few of them but its a shame they never patched it back into Caesar.

>Soul
I tell you that fucking random walker system just about drained the soul right out of me back in the day
And the later games that put in the roadblocks only sort of helped because now there's a big fucking sign right in the middle of the road for priority walkers that actually do need to pass through

what im saying is, remake when

Any good mods for the first game?

Caesar IV did a good job fixing things, if I recall correctly. I think it did away with house evolving and just let you choose what quality of housing to build, and things like markets would have an automatic radius for their services instead of walkers.

4 is hated by fans of the series for some reason.
I liked it.

Attached: 1558362998411.jpg (480x480, 22K)

I've never been that fond of 4, I didn't really like the switch to 3d and the walker system with the upgrades in latter games worked well and was fun to work around.

oh fuck, user
rip ukrainbro. ;_;7

>I didn't really like the switch to 3d and
I didn't have a problem with that, but I can understand people preferring 2D.

>the walker system with the upgrades in latter games worked well and was fun to work around
If a system forces you to work around it, then it doesn't really work well.

Attached: 1454876533176.jpg (450x338, 33K)

if you knew what you were doing you could create very functional cities with the walker system. It had a very sharp learning curve though.

It gave the games a sense of challenge and logical thinking besides just popping down buildings willy nilly.

fucking LOVED the music in this, loved the fun little voice acting too.

Casino Inc. It's a pretty complex casino management game. You can find cheaters at your tables and either beat them up or they might offer their services. If you accept, then you can send them to rival casinos to cheat and bring home some good dough AND harm their income. You have events happening in the city that can boost your income big time depending on what events they are. You might wake up an Elvis convention and have a ton of people dressed up as him visiting your casino, but they'll most likely be trailer trash and teens, not the real deal high rollers that bring in the real income. It's really the best casino management game around.

any games that are like that mini game inside world of warcraft where you send out 'followers' on missions

children of the nile felt like a soulless pharaoh, prove me wrong. Also had too much black skin and when I try to replay it now all I think about is we wuzzery.

>The reinforcements are your main army
One of the best single player campaigns in a strategy game

Play a solo fighter/mage/cleric and demolish everything since you can get to level 30 in each class.

That's my favorite RTS.

>Cherry picking

There were many tyranid units making the change in fucking 1996.

Yeah city builder/trade sim but there is some warfare involved

dilate faggot and get a grip

>warfare
Can you explain how it works

My childhood and a secret gem

>Wasn't good enough to win late game battles.
>so just spams nukes so nobody wins

D A M A G E D

speaking of strategy games, how is frostpunk? I really dig the post apocalyptic snowy aesthetic but I wanna hear opinions before I torrent it

stop trying so hard, kid.

If you're not going to pay for it then just play it already.
It's pretty good.

good to know.
never spend more than 20 bucks for a computer game.

It's solid.
Not much replayability, but it's sure worth playing for the first time.

Wasn't it under $20 during the sale?

yeah but I discovered the game just yesterday, lucky me.

Played this again recently after 10 years and it still holds up, I actually like this more than BFME2.

The new game is going to be good, judging from the few levels i played in the closed beta

Well in 1503 ships can fire at each other like in most annos. But in 1503 with the right supply chains you can gather equipment and train soldiers whom you can send towards your rivals or natives. Anno does have rival AI. Hope that helps, cutie.

I'm disappointed

heh

Submarine Titans was my jam.

>that start
>that proximity to doomed village
>that miniscule amount of resources
what a fucking terrible roll of the dice this is

its because it's quicker, cheaper and easier to just make unoptimized shit in Unity engine that'll run your CPU at 95 degrees C just to render some facebook game graphics than to actually hire some people who know how to draw sprites well.

just play Empire Architect. It's a recently released indy Caeser III. Good shit.

Funny that CoH1 still has half~2/3 as many players as the abortion that's CoH2.
Yeah heaps dude.
>Joint operations
adds a bunch of solo/coop challenge maps that are incredibly hard, often defending against increasing waves of enemies with objectives that pop up.
>Eastern Front
Adds Russians and East Front Germans
>Europe In Ruins or Operation Market Garden
two mods that do essentially the same thing but slightly differently. persistant online pvp where before a match you prepare the unites you can call onto the field, you fight and after the match you gain points, exp, money and such to upgrade, customise and level up any units that survived the conflict.

Plus there's a map pack .rar that has something like 500 maps, plus there's also a pretty decent "realistic camo/vehicle texture" mod thats worth checking out too.

CoH1's modding scene is huge, lots of hidden gems that are probably lost to the sands of time because megaupload and rapidshare went down.

it's not so much a strategy game as it's a resource management base builder.

PLEBS ARE NEEDED[/spoilers]

I prefered Zeus and Poseidon.

Warcraft 2 before Blizzard fell off the deep end when working on World of Warcraft. I will admit I liked Warcraft 3 though.
