The reason he was saying that is because sega said all of their games would be getting worldwide releases after 2020. P5R barely missed the cutoff releasing in late 2019 so they were able to slack on that and release the English version presumably in Spring 2020. Since SMTV still hasn't gotten anything in two years it's likely to release in 2020 at the earliest so it will have that promised worldwide release.

I've never played an Etrian Odyssey game, are their dungeons as absolutely exhaustive as Strange Journey's? Finishing out the game now (final dungeon is finished and clearing Sixth Sphere of the Womb), and this shit has been ridiculous since Sector E.

Post-game is way, way worse than SJ but most of the time EO dungeons are more straightforward. Random encounters are harder in EO though.
