having the right people can make or break a game. luckily for us 3D Realms was able to get the right people.
afaik a handful of devs on the game are apparently modders from Duke4.net - aka people who are autistically obsessed with 20 year old built games and know them inside out and why X worked but Y does not.
also the guy making the music for it couldn't be more of a based autismo (autistic on Yea Forums = passionate in the real world).
for example the entire music will be made through trackers (remember those keygen tunes in scene releases?), which hasn't been done in commercial games in more than two decades.
