How the fuck are you supposed to beat this mission? I only ever managed to win by cheesing and landing the bike on top of the train. Otherwise Smoke kills one guy, and then can't hit the other two to save his life. He literally aims at empty air.

This mission is overrated. Just don't get too close to the train and you're fine.
Nigga I tried that and Smoke still misses.
RC missions are far worse.

just drive next to it, really not that hard

Easy, keep steady, stay furthest to the track sides, hit the gas.
All you have to do is follow the damn train
Just drive ahead of the train and stop at advantage points to shoot the enemies, get back on the bike once the train starts getting closer, rinse and repeat untill they're all dead.
You don't even have to do that, just drive beside the train that's it

I agree as well. I found some fun, but it wasn't worth the hassle of those shitty control schemes. especially when I replayed them on pc.
Drive parallel the right scale, same distance as you would drive between them.
Or jump on the train and it would be a completely different sequence with crouching and jumping anyway.
