Or found a server that was tolerated in where nobody else is forced to join. games like PoE and Mordhau have struck a good balance of offcial servers and ignoring global #1488 because you only find yourself there if you want to be there.

The big difference between this and that is, you have to agree and sign a contract before any money or products exchange hands, but with vidya you have to purchase the product and then agree to their terms to access content you've already paid for. At the very least what I can see happening if this gets challenged in court is that companies will either have to have you read and agree to their TOS's at the point of sale before you purchase shit, or they'll have to guarantee a refund if someone disagrees with the TOS after they've purchased a game.
