Nah, it's one of the only two usable classes in the game (Speed is the other). Just make Balanced faster than it (and give it better acceleration than Turning has) and put Turning somewhere near Accel's range and it'll be way better.

Judging from the switch version, there are probably some tracks that suffered frame drops so they decided to keep it consistent across the board by locking it at 30.
The only people who bitch about frame drops in these threads are switchlets because their shitty tablet can't even hack consistent 30, but it does tell me that some tracks are more intensive than others.

Slide Coliseum is genuinely one of the best tracks in the game. Everybody is on the same line speed wise, because there are no cheese pads letting you get massively ahead and be safe forever. You can only try to take the best lines through the corners, and there are corners constantly so it's not just a boring oval like Coco Park or Crash Cove

Majority of people I play against online can't into the skill you need with Speed/Acceleration to make tight turns with efficiency. If you're playing either but taking turns wide as fuck and don't make good racing lines you'll never be as fast as someone playing turning/balanced who is good at cornering. Unless it's Coco park, which explains why a lot of these shitters always pick it.

I usually u-turn over the fence, however only very quickly, if you hold it for too long you'll smash into the rocks on the right. I don't think you need to on turning/balanced characters outside of min/maxing your time but speed/accel might plow into the other side of the track without it.

From that text alone you already understand how it works well enough. The only thing that there is to consider is that there are different boost levels and having any amount in this invisible and inaccessible meter will let you maintain that level of boost.

>super turbo pad turbo
these are the levels of speed you can maintain if you have anything left in the tank, once you run out you're back to cruising speed.

It's probably the worst map for getting stuck in item hell. Way too many boxes, too few wumpa crates, and awkward as hell map geometry.

You don't need to hop at all. So long as you're holding down while braking you won't lose reserves at all. Letting go of down before brake will instantly kill reserves, so you just have to get into the habit of holding down a lot.

You can actually hold down + right/left and alternate between braking/acceleration to adjust your turning radius without losing reserves.

I've been trying to do that for the last 30 minutes and I lose reserve/speed.

I wouldn't give up user, it doesn't just click for me either, it took me about half an hour to figure out the exact timing for it and then another half hour not to fuck it up. The webm does make it look easier than it is but in reality it's clipped out of an hour of failures. Now I can do it very consistently however, and I use it on other tracks too.

I would just like to point out that Beenox did not just change the name of the Tawna Watermelon skin, they also changed her fur color to be the same as default Tawna. It was previously a more tan color. If you don't believe me, compare the Tawna skin to the still unchanged character Icon, you'll notice that the character icon still has notably different colors on the cheeks from the rest of her body, while the skin ingame has the same light color all around.
