Am I the only one who has weird note accuracy issues? I'm by no means trying to say that I should be flawlessly 100%-ing every song, but a lot of the time I'll hit a string of notes that seem spot on to me and it'll be a string of greats and then I hit another string and what is visually the same timing will instead get me perfects. Also, no matter what timing I use to dodge the saws I always get pass. Doesn't matter if it's early, late, right when it hits the note crosshair thing, always pass. I don't understand what the timing is supposed to be for the saws because I've tried literally everything. I don't get what the problem is. I don't have these issues with Musynx.

If you get a great on the first note of a string then you will likely end up getting great on the whole string due to your initial offset, I would imagine that's the issue.
Pass is best rating you can receive for avoiding saws.

First of all, you need to pick the best character and elfin combo for score. If the song lets you use Little Devil Marija + Lilith without dying (usually restricted to Lv.7+ Master songs because easier songs usually don't have enough notes) she is always the best pick. Otherwise, it's most likely Joker Buro + Dragon Girl/Lilith/the witch elfin, or, if the song is full of note pickups, saws, ghosts and barriers, Bunny Girl Rin.

Picking the right combo gets you 90% of the way, the remainder is up to enabling manual fever in the options and figuring out the best places to trigger it throughout the song. Note that for some songs, automatic fever will always beat manual fever because it activates as soon as the meter fills up.

I loved that game. Actually pretty immersive with the music and visuals.

Rank is solely based on accuracy. If I remember correctly, 90% is bronze S, 95% is silver S and 100% is gold S.

Smashing the buttons doesn't mean you are "playing" the song. The game rewards you more for hitting notes on time more than it does not missing notes.

Try adjusting the offset, though not too much. Ignore the instructions for it, you want to anticipate beats as if you are the one playing the song, not reacting to them.

It's a pretty good fucking deal all things considered. DLC in other rhythm games is much more expensive, DJMAX Respect's packs are like $20 for ~22-24 songs, which I'm not even mad about personally. About 80 songs for $30 is really nice.

I use the shoulder pads only. The left and right ones. Had to ditch the buttons for high level play.

I play on my fight stick, map ABXY to blue and L1L2R1R2 to pink. I think the best setup is on a keyboard with four buttons in a row mapped to blue and another four mapped to pink.

Air to jump over ground razor blades and ground to dodge air razor blades. Literally the opposite of attacking stuff

I've never tried on keyboard but basically you want to be able to press four keys of the same color easily since the later difficulty often have four in a row really close together and its way easier if you can just piano the inputs.

When you level up you get items (I think what you get is random). When you collect 8 of a certain item you unlock either an elfin or a new character.

You can only finish songs that have super high notes per second, so she's pretty much exclusively for the hardest songs in the game.

That fight stick set up is a damn good idea. Think I'll do it, been playing lazily with a single face button and shoulder button but I can already see myself hitting a wall with the little bit of rank 8 songs I've tried.

It does nothing at 90+% accuracy. It gives +5% accuracy to 90% and lower.

if you're doing fine with it on rank 9, it doesn't matter. Remember this game was built for tapping on a fucking phone screen so a two button set up is perfectly feasible.
That being said it probably wouldn't hurt for you to start using adjacent keys for rapid/hold notes. But for as much slack as that gives your index fingers it does take more concentration

It has a great visual presentation (the lewd shit is only in the character selection and song clear menus anyway. there's also nothing wrong with enjoying it in the context of a fun game), a lot of good songs with fun charts. It's not an absolute top tier rhythm game but considering I haven't played one in years I'm not looking for the utmost in complexity right now.
