I used balanced all throughout the game thinking the stats wouldn't lie to me this time. I destroyed a lot of scrubs online using them. When I found out acceleration was faster I couldn't help but feel I wasted all that time learning the tracks with a kart I thought was OP only to learn it's basically handling 2.0. Its too bad most people who play speed loses races all the time. Tropys, Pentas, Crunches the works. The best speed players ive seen were Norms. Tinys also never seem to win that much.

If U turning and air braking weren't a thing then speed wouldn't be the best. U turning and A.Braking make the turn stat completely meaningless. USF also wasn't normalized so speed has the fastest USF on top of having the fastest SF.

Turning is basically quicker on any track with rapid corners which was the only place Balanced would have had an advantage over the faster classes

TSR was a spinoff so more people saw it as something they could skip. I play it every now and then since I haven't finished the time trials but I've mostly moved on to other games, any other time I want to play it in the future will be to try playing with friends who I know that have it

The biggest problem with switch was the load times. If this improves them enough the switch should be on equal footing with the ps4. If you want grafix go ps4. If you want portability, controller options and the ability to have any name online, go switch.

It has no canon appearances. Nothing. No payoff. Boom Bang is the only that openly acknowledges both characters at the same time and it's completely non canon. That's generally the idea. Acceleration characters are generally for people who have a hard time/ get shit knocked out of them by tons of items/ hit lots of walls. But Speed is high risk high reward.

They're genuinely faster and their lower turning lets them snake better.

The problem with handling is that you're forced to take the turn angle when drifting which is the only way to reliably build reserves, so handling and balanced have to eat shit by taking a wild snaking route across the track which just slows them down and runs the risk of bumping obstacles and walls unless they disengage their boosts before doing a x3 combo or settling for goods instead of perfects.
It's a shit situation for them that they have to "work" harder to get perfect turbo boosts that makes them generally inferior to topspeed and accel classes because they can tackle any scenario more-or-less safely. The only advantage they carry is on crazy snaking tracks where they can both stay on course and build reserves at the same time, but topspeed/accel just take those tracks by building reserves on the straights and then u-turning through the turns so fuck...

Acceleration is more important than handling. Reaching max speed faster means you go into your first power slide faster, and at a higher speed. It also means you come out of mistakes faster.
Handling as a whole is negated by u turning and air braking. Those two universal techniques are the reason Speed characters are meta.
Acceleration is also the reason why Turn characters get off the line faster than Balanced and can stay ahead of them unless they're on a long straight line.

Cnk has better maps than ctr overall. Not sure about ps4, but on switch lobbies vote for cnk much more often outside of the few good ctr tracks like cortex castle.

The problem right now is that people caught in item hell will never get to juiced levels and their powerups will never let them break away from the pack unless they take a really good shortcut and dart away or they clinch during a clock with a mask.
