No, he's right
doesn't matter how high the skill ceiling is if they can't even do the bare minimum
people need to atleast get to the skill floor before they can properly play the game
if they can't play the game properly then they just give up and nobody picks it up

these games are braindead
there is nothing difficult about them
they especially don't fit in OP's thread when the majority of the community that buys these games and plays doesn't know how to play them well at all
Titanfall 2 is not braindead. If you haven't mastered the movement you can't even compete.
>low skill ceiling
no matter how good you are, everyone performs the same past a certain skill level
>high skill floor
No matter how bad you are, you perform the same as people higher skill than you up to an extent
Stop using these wrong
For Honor
dwarf fortress
Skill ceiling is how much effort it takes to master something. Skill floor is how much effort it takes to even be remotely able to play at all.
A game with a low skill floor but high skill ceiling is the "easy to learn, hard to master" game like for example Tetris. A game with a high skill floor is something like Dwarf Fortress, which takes a heavy investment upfront to even be able to play properly.

lol imagine deluding yourself into thinking DF takes skill, the game is piss easy
Its funny that skimming a wiki page or two is too much for a lot of people to enjoy a game with a lot of options and freedom.
And forget about trial and error, since that's tedious and artificial difficulty.
