It's like the AoE that Zenos spams. First it knocks you out and later on it only does a bit of damage and you can keep on fighting.

I picked up FF14 after hearing lots of good things about it. I've almost finished the base main scenario quest I think, I'm about to fight Ultima Weapon.

I made a Hrothgar, I wish they had a little more variety to them because I'm only seeing characters who look exactly like me or just look weird. I wish they had a few more haircut options, and for some weird reason it seems like their face is actually mapped to what changes their hair? It's weird. Also it's kind of disappointing to see a lot of hat items that I think would fit on their model just not be visible. However, I do do love being a giant gentleman healer.

Enjoy it. I feel like heavensward dragged the worst out of all of the scenarios, but it had a good number of 'highs' and the overall plot was much more interesting than ARR and SB.
SB was just lame overall. Zenos is kind of cool at least, he's extremely shallow character-wise but at least he feels like a threatening presence you want to overcome.
ShB is good so far, although the menial bullshit is starting to wear on me. It feels a lot more formulaic and cyclical in this one.

I did enjoy the game and dont mind the rotation based combat as much as other older gamers would but I definetely agree with this. Dungeons earlier in the games design cycle didn't suffer from the linearity problems they suffer from now so I wonder what made them change course.

Pharos Sirius was the last time they tried making a somewhat challenging dungeon, and it was a natural progression after Amdapor Keep and Wanderer's Palace. But people complained to no end about it, and it got to the point that whenever you got Pharos in roulette it was likely that at least one person would instantly drop.
It got massively nerfed and all dungeons since then have been relatively easy and largely linear.

English is really really good at times but some of the delivery feels a bit flat. Sometimes they focus on getting the accent right instead of actually having more enthusiasm in certain scenes. For example, I felt the hades scene, Crystal Exarch and Alisaie was done a bit better in the japanese dub.

tldr; English is more fitting, Japanese is more consistent.

A normal despair hit strikes harder than Inner Chaos does on my warrior anyway. Seeing it hit for 75k with a direct crit is just icing.

I'm actually the same for healing. I can do it effectively, but I hate every second of healthbar whack a mole. Outside of Scholar, I leveled every healer through the MSQ and Alliance roulette where I could simply DPS the entire time anyway.

because they give you a choice. it's called a video game. Before you can fast travel you must explore first. After you explored then you have a choice to take the fast route or the original route.

Teleporting to aetherytes is actually canon, and pretty significant in some parts of the story. The way you reach Shiva and Titan are examples of this. Also I remember hearing that there was a battle tactic in universe for the defenders to destroy their aetheryte while the enemy was teleporting in to trap them in the lifestream where they just dissolve.

Paladin is great. It's got the perfect mix of melee and caster in its rotation, and now even has a fully fleshed out AoE combo for Fight or Flight and a magical AoE for requiscat

they are about 17-18. They were 16 in ARR, and apparently everything ARR through SB was done in under a year, plus they spent a year on the First.

Going to boost WHM or AST.
Which one should I boost? I honestly remember all of AST story because I played both on an alt but WHM is at level 15 and that's going to be a pain to get to 70 compared to AST at 70.
Usually I do both during the first pull to get the healer used to test the healer. If they're okay with that than you should be okay to spread them out.

I hate extremely static rotations like that. I need something to preoccupy me to make the rotation feel more fluid than it actually is or I don’t enjoy the job. DRK is still my favorite tank this expansion, even though it was kind of dumbed down. TBN is still really satisfying.

I just put it down next to my other tank CDs, I hope they don't ever nerf it. I like the double utility of it, the slow for pulling mobs and the knockback resistance for boss mechanics.

Keep it separate, treat it as a second rampart. Only stack CDs if you're getting fucked hard like the healer DC'd or got stunned or something or if you eat a really strong tankbuster which is rare.
