This will hopefully be the future of vr. The last step needed really to make it good.
Who cares about VR movement, Apple doesn't even care about VR in the first place
Very stupid. The immediate future of VR is people making clever game design innovations to make best use of room-scale tracking. The medium term future is larger tracked volumes and things like redirected walking. The long term future (in this case 'long' being only 5-10 years out) is direct two-way BCI.
Because we're full into singularity and BCI is imminent.
this must be so damn expensive
I don't buy VR games that offer only teleportation locomotion. It's lazy, dumb and boring and doesn't even feel any better for VR Sickness than standard controls.
>VR game
>Absolutely requires the waggle controllers
>Won't let you use KB/M with the headset
lazy fix for motion sickness
>just control your hands with your keyboard, bro
>I don't understand anything and it makes me very upset.
Yea Forums in a nutshell
>he fell for the VR meme
Okay but that leaves you with what?
Apple is for chinks. Are you a chink?
>Buy VR device
>Just play modded old vidya with VR to relive the experience
Apple is god, stay mad poorfag.
Posted from my iPhone
Good goy
lel
I havent played a single game where there wasnt regular 2 axis movement.
I just want to play shooters with the VR set controlling your head, man. Like how games allow freelook while holding ~
This is a man, that when presented a car would attach horse to it.
Why would you want a shootgun game, one of the few things that VR does extremely well, to have conventional flat controls?
What about mark to destination? Just like tp, but the PC walks there. Is it workable, or too clunky for most games?
I get this sentiment. The headset alone provides a different enough experience that having full mkb controls might be even further immersive.
Is it too hard to put a fucking analog stick on one of those controllers or something?
>won’t let you use regular controller
> no laying all the way back in a recliner with VR headset and controller in hand
>same clunky controls as teleportation
>but now you can get motion sickness as well!
why
just use smooth movement
>should we wait until we get the technology ironed out properly?
>NO THEY HAVE TO BE FULLY IMMERSED REQUIRE THESE SHITTY WIIMOTES WITH NO TACTILE FEEDBACK AND MODEL THE ENTIRE GAME AROUND THEM AS A NECESSITY
>WHAT THE FUCK WHY ARE ALL OUR VR GAMES SHIT, WHY IS EVERYONE RETURNING OUR HEADSETS?!
>SHITTY WIIMOTES WITH NO TACTILE FEEDBACK
What kind of lowest-budget-tier wmr headset did you get?
Really cool post.
If you shill your shitty headset here one more time I'll leak all the info I got through corporate espionage to stockholders
bruh look at this dude
Why should I care about Apple?
>People need a 500$ smartphone screen strapped to their eyes just so they could get "immersed" into videogames
Apple: Why should I care about VR?
>He believes this
VR owner utterly beat the fuck out, here have a burn heal from Pokemon
Then buy a TrackIR instead since buying a VR headset to just use your KB/M is retarded.
He doesn't. It's a cope,
I don't own a VR headset, I just find it strange how Apple were brought up like some kind of argument winner when everything they make is utter garbage
Wrong approach.
You will never be able to affordably simulate real movement and feedback.
The real future is in computer-brain interfacing. But people are really scared of that right now even though people routinely get their genitals amputated. Somehow brain surgery is one step too far. You could even do it through a burr hole procedure and make it as painless as laser eye surgery. All you need is an array of electrodes and a port to feed the information through.
>Somehow brain surgery is one step too far
Yeah imagine that
>allowing game devs who struggle to use Unity to directly access your brain
Reminder.
I don't play shit games and I wouldn't play shit VR that induces seizures.
Man, I love my vr headset.
How is the Penn and Teller vr game?
