i don't know, op. what made you think they were dead to begin with?

I did

Sega Saturn. They are much better now though, one can assume they aren't entering home console market only because it wouldn't make sense business wise for them anymore as things are good as they are.

It'd be interesting to see if they can legit launch a game console these days, with new Yakuza game, Persona 6 exclusive and maybe a good Sonic game they at least would have exclusives to stand on.

Saturn outsold N64 in Japan

They never understood what made them good.

Bad decisions with Genesis' add-ons and Saturn outside Japan.

the radio star

Being the dumbest, worst managed big gaming company ever existed.

SEGA killed itself and continue to do so even today

Sega of America and Sega of Japan hate each other.

The problem is that for Sega the American market was much more important than for Nintendo though.

Blame Bernie Stolar

Infighting between its regional branches and piss-poor business and marketing decisions

Can someone elaborate this Sega America vs Jp fight?

They depleted their resources fighting against Nintendo and Snoy and Dreamcast had weak leverage to draw in more developers, even though it was a good console

>dude, lets pit our best developers against each other to make the best games, rather than using the synergy of good devs to make a good game together!
also, shenmue.

Nintendo's missile.

Sega killed Sega because they were fucking awful

>Segacucks will deny this

they didnt put software developers against each other

The downfall of sonic

>shenmue
it looks like they were more concerned about making good games rather than making profitable ones, especially through the whole dreamcast's lifespan. dreamcast seems like the last hurrah from sega before being shutting the whole thing down because (woopsies!) lack of actual money left.

Poor decision making in the late 90s

Ultimately, being a shit company.

Sega did.

Sega is still one of the largest publishers out there though.
