ive played a lot of SC back in the day and going back after playing newer RTS SC just feels stupid. The units constantly get stuck on eachother (ive had a DT be stuck pathing circling behind other DTs attacking), you only have 12 units per contorol group, you cannot select multiple buildings and spam. you need to get engineering bays to upgrade their stats, otherwise they just do zero damage. Second mines still do a lot of damage with observers out becasue you can put them on recall spots and drops, you cannot remove them if you drop right on top of them. They also slow the protoss down as he has to take them out one by one.
Third you dont care about vultures dying while laying mines, they only do good against shields anyway, they suck against dragoon's their health. You just want them to move in, mine up, and then whatever damage they do with shooting is extra. Mines dont hit probes but they do block nexus spots, and if they get cleared you know you should investigate the nexus spot. If you drop them vultures 2shot probes, no need for mines for that. Why bother upgrading marines to drop them if a vulture drop clears probes just as fast, if not faster, and can mine up the base to hurt the protoss trying to get back in to remove hte vultures.

I have literally never seen Queens work.
Notice that when they make queens they suddenly have less of an army? That's because they spent all those resources on useless Queens leading to a lull in new units. And they have ot spend time moving them around and controlling them, which would be better spent on real units.

Queens seem to work best when there's a bit of a stalemate where the Terran advance is held down somewhere, and then you also need perfect vision and perfect split to carpet all the tanks, but when it works, it works.
Calm was too far behind in everything, really.

recently i replayed the SC campaign on the remastered edition. I was at the final terran mission of vSC and the last time I cleared it I did it wtih mass battle cruiser into yamatoing the ion cannon down. So I tried that again, halfway I had 10 of them, the terran AI came in, used lockdown on all my battlecruisers and slowly chipped away at them. And thats how I lost 20 battlecruisers.
You poke at the left most spot and most of the ghosts wont aggro towards you.
Or you do the gosu speedrun strat which is make two nukes, use a fact to tank the turrets while a dropship ferries two cloaking ghosts in to nuke the cannon

I cleared it by first pushing the base to the left. Then I built a control group of wraiths and a bunch of marines with dropships. Used teh wraiths as bait and fodder so my dropships could make it across the empty void. Then use stim and kill everything. But it felt like the AI of remastered was better, theywere really on point countering me with mass lockdown
