>my fursona is a wolf
Yeah, that's great, Solas

How come they've shown that every species has its own unique brand of magic, yet players always have the most generic shit regardless of their character?

In 2 Hawke could learn a type of magic that I don't think is used by non humans.

that isn't liquid ocelot

I will slice this fag like I slice my bread every morning.

can't wait to punish every single elf for his deeds.

the Master is shit
If you think about it just a little you'll realize he's a huge retard that doesn't make any sense

>If you think about it just a little you'll realize he's a huge retard that doesn't make any sense
That's what you can convince him of in the game...

Actual kino antagonist coming through

>gets taken down by the cheapest and weakest trick in the whole goddamn series
>later comes back as someone else's puppet

Once again Bioware has made the antagonist powerful to point that they can't be defeated without it being contrived and our hero wins by dumb luck and the villains own incompetence.
Why do they keep doing this?

Convincing a retard he's a retard doesn't make him good as an antagonist

Which one?

Force magic.

Like punches?

Force magic can be used by both elf and qunari inquisitors in da3
Solas in particular, one of the actual elven god-mages, comes with the Rift Mage specialization.

So why is he bad?

imagine punching the air and a dude 50 feet away gets hit

Sort of, one of the spells is called Fist of The Maker.

I didn't get far enough in 3 to unlock specializations.

Because having the contrarian opinion makes him feel special and gets him free (you)s

I am replaying dragon age origins and the enemy encounter design is pure garbage. Literally waves of enemies appearing out of nowhere after every 5 steps.

They tend to blow up their scale of threat so huge, that it's hard to characterize them in any meaningful way. They just sort of become "the ancient evil" as a way of making them menacing. The Tales of [insert nonsense word here] games generally do a good job of characterizing the villains, though, even if they tend to fall on the generic end of the scale.

>I didn't get far enough in 3 to unlock specializations
That wasn't really my point anyways.
What I'm trying to say is we see all species do their unique thing when it comes to magic; dwarves now have titan-lyrium magic, qunari have those epic saarebas mages, elves are intrinsically connected to the Fade to the point they actually manifested from it to the material world. Your player character never has access to any of that cool shit; you just twirl your staff around very hard.

My waifu would be impressed

That's DA2 you utter brainlet

No, that's what dragon age origins is like. I've never played da2.

fpbp

Enemy waves out of nowhere is only a thing in DA2. You are literally not telling the truth.

Go replay origins. Wolves and drakes appear out of thin air behind your party

You're barking up the wrong tree.
The unwritten rule here is da1=masterpiece da2=gutter trash da3=single player mmo

And what do the other enemy types do?

Post well done RPG villains

I'm origins half the appeal is being able to see nearly all the enemies on the map in advance and plan out how you deal with them, I think wildlife and some demons are the only forced ambush encounters

In dragon age 2 LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE ENCOUNTER, whether it's human or demon or ANYTHING, positioning means nothing and enemies will continuously spawn on top of your party and come out of the woodwork to be fucking pests
