You DO want to make high quality porn of your favorite characters right?

I unironically jerk off more to people that I know IRL than porn. It’s a lot easier to fantasize

i made donut

I'm a consumer not a producer

Man.
I miss being 14, when watching that one girl run down the halls at school was enough fap material to last me weeks

Can't commit to it
I've made some shitty 3D models of cars but that's it

I used to do all kinds of junk with Zbrush, and then I had to reformat my PC, and I just can't be bothered to pirate it again.

I'm slowly working my way through Blender, but it's enough of a different learning curve that my prior experience helps me almost none

Attached: Bulbasaur.jpg (897x876, 84K)

I’m waiting for KLK: If to come out

Blender is the least intuitive program I have ever encountered, and I sincerely hope I never need to use it again for anything.

How long ago?
Because the newest versions are pretty great. On par or better than Maya or 3DS Max, UI-wise

I just wanna know the skin shaders/materials people use because it always looks really good

...

I wanna a big breast tanned cirno but i have 0 experience making models, even 0 experience drawing.

Where do i start?

Latest version is unironically better than Maya.

I want high quality porn of Zato and Millia
get to work Yea Forumsirgins chop chop

First of all learn to draw and make a front/side view
Next watch this guy's videos on making basic characters
youtube.com/watch?v=0QT1GNMevfc
Next just watch other people model, you'll pick up techniques since the above gives a basic model
Lastly just keep modelling. You'll get better over time. Forget about texturing and rigging until you can pump out a decent looking model.

not this guy, I just want to make porn of Widowmaker
Do I need to learn how to sculpt?

You could say that.

Attached: formerly.png (1560x845, 182K)

If you already have the model of widowmaker ready you just need to animate. If not, getting models like widowmaker definitely needs sculpting to at least get the shape before doing a topology of them. Again, keep doing it.

Good news for you, bad news for the Blender oldfags: The new version, 2.8's beta, completely changed the UI and the hotkeys and such so it's basically just like the other modeling programs.
;_;

Attached: 1557768789395.jpg (716x768, 117K)

do make porn of Nui and post it on rule34

Modelling: I'm alright at, not the best
Rigging/animating: I love it, best part of the experience
Texturing: I fucking hate it. I'm a brainlet at it and still don't understand how to bump/normal map properly.

>Lastly just keep modelling. You'll get better over time. Forget about texturing and rigging until you can pump out a decent looking model.
Alright then, see you in a few months then.
Thanks.

Blender I can at least do something.
Programming? I'm too retarded to even follow tutorials most of the time.

I started working on a nude Gum model based on her Sega All Stars Racing model back in January or so
I haven't touched it in a long time and I'd have to start from scratch considering how much I've learned since then and how fucked some things are but I just can't bring myself to scrap it or continue working on it

Attached: Gum1.png (1901x3074, 2.02M)

>The new version, 2.8's beta, completely changed the UI and the hotkeys and such so it's basically just like the other modeling programs
How different is it?
I always hear people complaining about Blenders UI but I really dont mind it at all
Ironically enough I never EVER see any work from said people who complain. I hate to be an /ic/ pywfag but in situations like these I feel like its called for

Attached: 1392184551462.png (640x480, 411K)

so can i use it as a free 3ds Max then? i've always wanted to do brawl model imports

>tfw started learning blender 2.7 right before the UI update
>I just finished learning all the hotkeys and buttons placement and will have to relearn everything again
fucking kill me already

I mean, it's still Blender, so you can still swap things back to the old way. Here's my tweaked setup, though.
The biggest thing I can think of that they changed was that they swapped the left and right click, and made the right bar more of a hassle to use, IMO.
Yeah. I import Pokemon models constantly. Works fine for me, although I wouldn't have recommended the beta a month or two ago, it was an unstable mess, the UV mapping tab crashed Blender, 100%.
I feel you, nigga. At least you're new-ish. I've been on and off of Blender since high school, fuck, ten years ago?

Attached: Capture.png (1920x1080, 829K)

ah cool

if it's advanced enough i want to do a model import of Magolor from Kirby over Lucas, that seems like a nice small step

>First of all learn to draw
That's quite the first step.

>that modernized look
my caveman brain cant cope aaaa
might just stick with the old stuff until i evolve from luddite stage
anyway heres a thing im working on. wanted to use it for maybe streaming in the future but it feels a little extra

Attached: forumboard.png (3840x2160, 1.67M)

All it needs to be is a sketch with the proportions you want for the character. Doesn't have to be detailed on the inside, just enough to know where shit should be.

I'm still learning and this was just from listening to early 2000's music

Attached: Nomed.png (382x680, 70K)

Get 2.8, it's a beta but they fixed the UI.

Magolor's already been ripped, unless I'm misreading your words.

Attached: Capture.png (986x630, 208K)

Oh, i was asking if i can actually import it into brawl and rig it over Lucas.

you needed 3ds max for pretty much everything.

zBrush is amazing for high poly works. I really tried with blender, but I don't care about realtime stuff.

I jack off to more fictional characters than people I know irl.

belnder is a literal autism test, I entirely regret using it even briefly

Ah, nevermind. No clue, sorry.

I'm prettying up some model-rips of the Guradians from the Legend of Spyro. My plan is to get them to the quality of a certain Cynder model.

WIP

Attached: Clipboarder.2019.07.14.png (1368x768, 375K)

lmao you must have never used zbrush or maya then, blender is a joke in comparison

Darn, i guess i will have to download it and see for myself then, i hope they added numerous new features though.

Shit because my camera buttons disappeared and I don't know how to get them back

How does this work? i'm interested in making porn of my wife from Xendoblade 1

>make my game in blender game studio
>.0001 seconds from final release already payed 1m in marketing with blender game studio in all ads and in the games final tital
>"hey guys we're deleting blender game engine from blender haha :^)"

what the FUCK

>Heard people complaining that ZBrush is awfully hard to learn
>Pirate it and find a very good tutorial with the basics
>Found it quite simple to use yet overwhelming due all the available tools
>Try the same with Blender
>Was discouraged more than once before I got the hang of it

It's all about finding a good foundation and moving your way forwards as well getting your info from a good teacher. My mistake when trying to get into Blender was trying to follow the shitty donut tutorial everyone keeps recommending (Likely to discourage newcomers because holy shit its bad). After I found a better tutorial it was easy to go forward at that point.

Attached: 1485860390123.jpg (1000x800, 98K)

...? A joke as in it's not as unintuitive?

Literally nobody made any games bigger than Pong clones in BGE and it's been a fucked engine for, like, five years straight.

You draw.
You make a model based in that drawing.
You cry because it looks horrible.
You cry because you are useless.

Can I sideload 2.8 with another version? I used to use Maya XSI ModTool years ago and greatly prefer it to Blender's messy shitfest of a UI. I got Blender as close as I can, but it's still a pain in the dick. I'd like to try 2.8 but in case I don't like it/it isn't stable enough, I don't want to erase my current setup, which while still a pain, I've gotten used to.

Wrong.
Blender's UI has gotten slightly better, but it's still horrible

zBrush is meant for tablets. If you use a tablet it's the easiest 3D app out there.

Too much normal mapping on the bottom half and bland single colour textures everywhere else, come on man.

Trying to make anything more elaborate than a simple walking simulator with BGE was an exercise in futility.

>Constrained to the old internal renderer material system.
>Poor performance b/c code is based on the viewport (which is slow as shit BTW) and when using armature deformations (b/c modifiers are CPU only and single-threaded)
>Very prone to crashing.
>OpenGL only, which means AMD and Intel users are fucked.

I want to create porn animations, should I go for Maya or Blender? I have autism so learning is no bother right now

>exposing rotations to the end-user as quaternions
>the W component obviously has to be first against all conventions since W comes before X alphabetically
That's a double-yikes from me

I learned 3ds max, and I still thought blender's UI was a fucking clusterfuck

granted this was back in like 2009/10/11 or so

blender is much better when it comes to UI and user friendliness than zbrush
zbrush has been using the exact same shitty UI for 10 fucking years

You can always switch Euler. Enjoy your gimbal lock that you'll inevitably get into.

Maya if you're willing to spend the money or pirate it, Blender otherwise.

blender

exposing rotations as euler angles doesn't mean that's what's being used internally
internally there usually is a 4x4 matrix either way

I’ll do my best

so whats better for me anons?
Zbrush or Blender?
Im not really interested in animation

SFM b/c you'll place higher in search engine results. SFM is valid tag in most boorus unlike Blender or Maya b/c of tagging autism.

I'm looking for quality, not fame
Who am I kidding I'll give up in two days

But SFM is generally lower quality due to program limitations.

Do you want to sculpt high poly pieces without worry of topology? zBrush
Do you want to do a lot of box modeling? Blender
Blender comes with Eevee for realtime pieces and a shitty cycles renderer that might give you cancer.
zBrush gives you a kinda shit renderer as well, but you can easily export all the passes to touch up significantly in an external image editor.
I started with blender, but quickly learned sculpting was more my speed. Switched over to zBrush and learned the ropes. 3 years later and I make more in a single commission than I do a full weeks work at my full time job.

>I started with blender, but quickly learned sculpting was more my speed. Switched over to zBrush
sculpting in blender is 99% the same as zbrush
the main difference is zbrush is awkward as fuck to use and has a horrible UI that they are too afraid to change

Zbrush is mainly an sculpting program, if you've worked with clay IRL you will notice a lot of similarities; its almost like using clay digitally. It is not mandatory that you worked with clay before but it helps. Blender is more of a modeling program but it has some basic sculpture features. Either way you want to learn how to model if you're going to use a 3D program (Even if you end up preferring sculpting), so I'd recommend you use Blender, try both modeling and sculpting in it, see which you enjoy best and then decide if pirating Zbrush is worth your time. Some people can do some very impressive stuff using the sculpting tools in Blender but they are nowhere as refined as Zbrush (In my personal opinion). Either way you can't go wrong with Blender.

I've sculpted in both. zBrush is significantly better if you've spent any amount of time actually comparing the two. It's designed for tablet use. If you have a tablet, you can't beat it. Aside from that, blender nearly explodes if you try to do any sort of high res sculpting. A full scene in zBrush can easily approach 80 million polys. Blender just can't touch that.
I'm not shitting on blender, I like the app (I still use it when I want to mess around with rigging and animation), but strictly for sculpting there is no contest.

God, I love the Jet Set Radio designs, but I can't stand them without Cel Shading

I can’t use Blender coming from Maya, the UI is just too cluttered and weird

woah, well thanks in advance.

Here's hoping those nude models in the game are good quality.

fpbp

the new blender has significant changes to the brush. it's actually competitive with zbrush now. especially in terms of high resolution sculpting. stop posting advice like you know everything. your knowledge on the subject is outdated

why is /3/ such a lonely board?

Attached: cult indoctrination.png (1159x669, 588K)

should I learn from 2.7 or jump straight to 2.8?
There's not many tutorials for 2.8 and it seems pretty different from 2.7

Start at 2.7 since the tutorials should cover the UI. Learn the basics of 3D in general. When 2.8 finally releases a stable build you should be able to use that knowledge to adapt to the different UI.

Blender is never going to compete with shit, that doesn't mean it can't be amazing, too bad Gimp is complete shit.

>You DO want to make high quality porn of your favorite characters right?
I do but waiting for 2.8 build to drop and learn from there. It can't be that hard if so many people are doing it?

Blender is extremely much more intuitive than Maya, you dumb autocuck.
Different =/= less intuitive

I recently made this minigolf/ball racing track for Tabletop Simulator.
steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1797589908

Currently working on a bigger version with more lanes.

These threads are incapable of going anywhere productive because those in the blender cult (not to be confused with normal blender users) show up and are incapable of accepting that their (admittedly great) software package falls short in some areas compared to other more specialized applications.

I'd say start with 2.7, just because it's much faster to work with the 2.7 control scheme and all the 2.8 tutorials try to teach you the new hotkeys and menu setups which are retardedly bad. (You can set 2.8 to use the old 2.7 controls in preferences).
Here's a really good intro for complete beginners:
youtube.com/watch?v=DiIoWrOlIRw

Whatever you do, don't try to learn Blender from Andrew Pierce (aka the "Blender guru"). He is a talentless hack and he fucking sucks at Blender after all these years.

Whine some more, Autocuck.

That's creepy

Attached: 3.png (1203x377, 86K)

I use blender, faggot.

Blender is actually just as good as Zbrush now. Especially with Pablo's Sculpting Branch.

>A full scene in zBrush can easily approach 80 million polys. Blender just can't touch that.
Bullshit and lies.
I have a 1080 and an 7700k and I can sculpt in Blender with 50 million tris without much slowdown - completely comparable to Zbrush.

Would there be a market for bara blender porn? I'm learning to model for game dev purposes, but if I can make even a pittance of money while learning and doing something I enjoy, that'd be pretty sweet.

>How are your Blender projects going user?
I realized I hate shoulders.
>You DO want to make high quality porn of your favorite characters right?
I am making my OC characters for a porn game I'm making.

Why would someone who makes games come to this shit hole?

This is about comlaining about and being triggered by feminists shitting on games.

The only time I have ever so much as touched the 3D modelling in Blender was when I attempted to optimise a model for VRChat. Aside from that, I have used the video editor to make some real shit memetic vids, though I did end up realising it is actually incredibly shit by virtue of how much it lags for me.

The video editor itself is actually pretty good, but you need to make a proxy to work with large files unless you have ridiculous amounts of RAM.

I take it 16GB isn't 'ridiculous', then?
