Once you have the normal blocks then all that happens is every so often you have the glass shatter ones, and then you can learn when the glass shatter happens and use the charged attacks to break it and stun them as a reward. No way, it makes the game actually have some form of challenge.

You only really see it happen on bosses and in the final chapter when pistol users start appearing so it's not like you go there often, but Doc Emoto's clinic should have still been there for you to get checkups at as well. If Tatsuya can meet him to get treated why can't Yagami? Mortal wounds are much worse in the VR Salon, tigers, 3* white ninjas, and that one sword mission with the pistol user are nightmares to encounter (Though the tigers are pretty easy once you learn how to fight them without getting hit) and the only way to heal it at all is to get a Koro-nyan which there's a whopping one of on the map unless you get lucky. Rolling a 5-6-2 doesn't even heal you despite starting up Koro-nyan mode.

Except they don't really make anything a challenge, just became tedious to have to run up to the corner of the city to get healed all the time. I never once died in a fight in the game since I've played every Yakuza game and I like the idea behind mortal wounds since Tak isn't a badass legend fighter like Kiryu, but towards the end of the game especially with the increase in guys with guys I found myself constantly in situations where I would have just enough mortal mounds to want to heal but not enough to use a kit since they're more expensive and I like to hoard them for bosses. If the goal was to make the game more challenging then it failed because I never found any fight in the game to be challenge, but they did make it more annoying

On a base PS4 it's pretty much the same as 6, yeah, it doesn't have K2's slight performance optimizations. On a Pro it's also the same as 6 but I've noticed more drops in cutscenes than I ever did in 6 so I don't know what's up with that. Gameplay is fine though on a Pro, on a base it's like 25-30 constantly.

You can date them all without consequence. The only thing that happens is Tak will think to himself "is this really a good idea? I'm already dating X-san"

VR Salon nets you roughly 2 million to 4 million a run depending on what you do. You basically start by rolling 5-6-2, do the three turns, fight as many spots as you can on your way to the other Koro-nyan, do your next three turns, run to Kuro-nyan so he steals everything, run to where he went off to and get double what you lost back, then go to the end.
The casinos take way longer even if you're really lucky at blackjack or expert Koi-koi and requires you to sell paint for a couple thousand when you can earn 2-4 million in 20 minutes.

how do I git gud at VR

Get all the upgrades first of all, the 12k one is mandatory and so are the extra dice.
You always want to have some EX Burst available at any moment. Gun users are prevalent and you really do not want to take mortal damage if you can help it. Always abuse Crane's triangle attacks in EX Burst if you need to take out difficult groups. Flux Fissure usage is heavily encouraged to build it.
If you ever encounter a white ninja, then as soon as the fight starts wait until he readies his smg and then R1 + X to the side, delay as long as you can to keep the iframes, X again, and then at the last moment before you would take damage go into EX Burst and run to him.
For tigers you want to make sure you only attack with one square and one charged triangle. If you miss either immediately start preparing to dodge. Tigers attack after it's been a second since their last attack and you've attacked at least once, so attack the air, wait for them to attack, then you can dodge to the side and counter with a normal punch and charged kick in Tiger. Sometimes you shouldn't even charge it, and don't risk two triangles ever. One slap from them is 60% of your health gone.
If you get the double sticks just mash square. If you get the sword then make sure there's no pistol user because if there is you need to do the delayed dodges and pray the asshole stops shooting before your iframes wear off so you can slash at him. Railguns always hold L2 and then aim at someone and hold triangle.
Start every round off with a 5-6-2 roll for instant Koro-nyan mode, then hunt down the other Koro-nyan, and then finally make your way to the Kuro-nyan and chase that before completing the level. Kuro-nyan doubles every drop you earned in the level up to that point if he steals from you and you beat him. Crane > Tiger in Koro-nyan challenges.

Seriously though, if you don't have Heat you're going to have a really bad time if you land on a 3* you're not prepared for.
