Oh hey, a XB2 thread. I have two questions about the end of chapter 3.
- What exactly was Malos trying to accomplish when he tried to finish off Rex, right before Mythra awakens? By that point, Torna knew that his life was tied to Pyra's, so considering how vital she (or rather, the data in her core) is to Torna's plan, why did Malos seem so ready to straight-up kill Rex?
- What was Malos even doing at the end of the fight to escape with Akhos? There's some kind of light effect when he punches the ground that doesn't look like any of the normal effects the game uses for his abilities (they're normally dark purple glowy crap, not bright lights). Normally the ways Torna gets away in other fights are pretty straightforward (Akhos just straight up runs in chapter 3, Mikhail and Patroka ride off on the Monoceros in 4, and the Artificial Blades pick them up in 7), so Malos randomly pulling out a move that doesn't seem to fit with anything else he does in the game seems out of place.

I know I'm overthinking all of this, but I'm curious if there's an obvious explanation for either of these that I'm just ignoring.

I think they just wanted Malos to look menacing and evil for the first point, and needed to exit Akhos and Malos out of the scene for the second point, but didn't really think things through, so they used "villain uses generic flashy move and is gone by the time visibility is restored" shit they use in a lot of tokusatsu and anime.

Not the guy you were talking to, but how many rare Blades should I have? I know not to put too many on Rex, but what about the rest?

I can't remember the exact chapter I'm in, but it's after Morag joins up and you're on the way to Rex's hometown. Rex has Azami in addition to Roc and Pyra/Mythra, Nia doesn't have anyone rare aside from Dromarch, and I gave Vess to Morag after getting her, but that's all I've got for rares at the moment, and I've been struggling through some of the bosses in the last chapter.

It's bad, but it mostly happens in the first titan. If you're not a graphicsfag, you'll get used to it in minutes, and after the first titan you probably won't notice the low res because you're focused on the game. Ignore anyone telling you it's 360p, that's the worst case scenario in a few busy areas
I think playing it on the Lite will make it unnoticeable after the initial shock of Gormott

If they make new scenes, English Melia would have to be recast, though. Her VA became famous because she was in Doctor Who and now is expensive as fuck.

You should at least roll on Nia until you've got two additional rare healers on her (one of which preferably being a claw so she can Launch). If you fish out the unique enemy past the port gate in lower-Mor Ardain, it'll drop a unique core crystal containing a dark Shield Hammer, guaranteeing one Rare tank on Morag, even if Shield Hammers kinda suck (not that optimizing Blades matters much until post-game/challenge mode, I've beaten the game with Blades considered absolutely low tier). Morag gets a guaranteed rare Katana Blade in Chapter 6, but you can try rolling for another Katana earlier than that if you want, considering Katanas are by far her best weapons (DLC/NG+ Blades non-witstanding)

Nia: Guaranteed access to one story Blade, your "healer"

Mórag: Guaranteed access to two story Blades, though one can avoid being added to her. Your "agility tank".

Zeke: Guaranteed access to one story Blade. Your "attacker".

There are 20 random Rare Blades, of which 8 are ATK, 7 are HLR, and 5 are TNK.

There are 7 Rare Blades obtained as Core Crystals so you can choose who gets them. 4 are ATK, 1 is HLR, and 2 are TNK.

There are seven NG+ Blades. 3 are ATK, 1 is HLR, and 3 are TNK. All but one TNK are random rolls.

There's one free update Blade for after you beat the story, and it's ATK.

There are 6 DLC Blades, but 4 can be freely engaged by anyone at any point. Of the remaining 2, 1 is HLR and 1 is TNK.

In short,
ATK (Zeke): 16 + 1
HLR (Nia): 10 + 1
TNK (Mórag): 11 + 2
Rex and Tora are wildcards for different reasons. Technically, Nia is the worst Driver while Rex, Tora, and Zeke have the most potential. Generally you can get through the story with any Blade on any character, but I personally focused on giving each Driver their starting role to keep things simple, even if Blades of other roles would be better on them then on, say, Nia. But in the main story, roll Blades on Zeke or Nia since you're most likely to land the correct roles on them.

It's intuitive, but the instructions they give you aren't helpful. For a while I was basically spamming the ZL/ZR buttons trying to combo without hitting the meter.

Well, while it seems Blades married their Drivers at some point it seems children were outside the picture. I guess for obvious reasons.

xenoblade 2 has had historically bad handheld mode BUT lite will mount a new iteration of the tegra SOC so there is a chance it will look better since the engine will scale the resolution a lot less due to the better MHz rates of the lite

Of course there's always that blurry ass image of XC2 in handheld mode which is basically the game at launch(when it multiple updates) in addition to it being one of the areas where the game tanks the most.

The first one was somewhat of an unexpected success and was probably very cheap to make in comparison, Shulk being in Smash raised its awareness too, also it was New 3DS exclusive.
