Turning is a negative stat in ctr, it reduces your ability to drift in a straight line and there are mechanics that allow you to turn on a dime even with 0 turning.

I'm a time trial autist and a no items mode is a bad idea. If you remove the random element there's zero variation or possibility of failing a track that you know well, so every race just becomes a boring time trial optimization contest.

Oxide's times vary from joke tier (just driving decently and boosting around will comfortably beat him) to genuinely hard.
Stop being happy with normal slide boosts. You should see those as failures. This game is really all about the perfect slide boosts, and once you have that down, USF.

There's already a leaderboard for time trials too. I get why people want a mode that is entirely skill based, the random element can be a little frustrating... But the lack of items removes the main way you interact with other racers. Racing without a fight is pretty pointless.

my dude, it's so simple. I already know what you're doing wrong. let go of acceleration button in the air, press break, TURN, then LET GO of brake as you land, and make sure you're holding accel when you hit the floor

It's hard to see in the victory animations because you are front facing but the girls have tail physics. You can see it in the losing animations.
Example, when Ami loses and is doing her huffy stomp, her tail wiggles up and down. It's very cute.

So you're heading towards a ramp, jump at the last second, then LET GO OF ACCELRATION, -HOLD- brake, turn whichever way you need, but make sure you LET GO of brake, before you hit the floor, and hold accel quickly when you land, to keep the boost going, but sometimes, it doesn't matter if the boost doesn't continue, as long as you make the skip, you're still better off and will land and still be ahead

I think PP is one of the few tracks where Speed isn't the best choice because, as far as I can tell, they can't cleanly climb the pyramid. I find Balanced makes it easiest.

I don't know man this doesn't work no matter what I do, I've never been hit with a wall like that in a video game before and I hate it, I don't know why my brain just doesn't want to make this mechanic work. I just wish this tech wasn't in the game at this point.

Not the user you replied to, but I have consistency issues as well, but mainly when trying to cut corners without much hang time while maintaining SF/USF. I guess I just need to get it down into my muscle memory better, but are there any tips you have for that? For example, I can't for the life of me keep SF while going up the pyramid spiral at Papu's, even without a wall crash. I cut the corners fine, but I guess I'm not doing the combo fast enough and end up losing all my speed when I hit the ground. Am I just confused on whether the tech is even applicable there at all?

What's the best way to keep the USF while in Deep sea driving? The first corner and the tubes fuck me up.

The thing is, when I see videos of people doing it, they literally jump 10 meter high even without speed and they also turn a lot more than I do when I "successfully" air break (I only manage to do it when I'm very high up in the air) It's almost as if time was stopping while they are in the air.

How I did it was by watching exactly how Oxide does it and imitating him. You just gotta hit the ramp exactly perpendicular to the direction of the track.

Bluff shortcut is easy since it actually works like the original did. All you need is SF and enter the ramp from the middle and not the inside wall. All you do is turn left a bit from the middle. 100% guaranteed every time.

I actually like grinding the challenges but the daily ones take way too much time, so sometimes I just skip the most boring ones.

They should either reduce the number of daily challenges or make the Grand Prix last less time.

Also the Nitro bonus should apply to regular races points, just to avoid having event characters only online.

That's what I would think, but then I doubt many people would slap the share button mid race, which I think would have to mean they're just streaming all their races from the start.

You don't understand how it works.
The PS4 is constantly recording the last 15 minutes of gameplay. You can finish a race that something interesting happened in, then hit the share button and select "video clip" which will give you a 15 minute video file that you can extract the desired footage from.
