the speed makes it so the game is not enjoyable to play, it just becomes a rhythm game where you have to memorize when to press the right button and just look at a blurry track.Mario kart on the other hand has speed, but at the right balance. It has drama, it has character.

The problem is the specific ship they make you use, like it fishtails all over the place, like that little hill section with the 3 boots on it before the large curve? I go flying off the wall in that section because the ship always overcorrects super hard, just ping-ponging off the walls

I was using a HOTAS (flight stick and throttle) with first person camera, but no VR unfortunately. It's surprisingly effective though, I was beating my PBs with only a few tries as practice.

Just remember how bad you were at Wipeout when you first got it compared to now. Practice a bit and you'll be fine, I had the same experience.

I use them exactly like in Redout... If a turn is too tight I use the brakes in combination with normal turning. But in this game you need to use them a bit earlier.

I'm tempted to say Scorpio is better for actual combat. You can tank hits, dish it out, just like Diavolt, but you can also recover your lost speed almost immediately. Having said that I'd never use it cause it's just too slow to run away with the lead.
If it's the dude I think, it was in lobby 2 and the dude almost broke into 2nd place.
