There are people on this site right now that didn’t enjoy Dragons Dogma.
Sad, sad people indeed.

I’m playing and enjoying it right now, though. Better late than never, right?

What vocation are you playing?

Mystic Knight

I guess I’m one of those people? Dropped it after 10-12 hours of boredom.

im playing it right now as warrior just entered bitterblack and not having ranged attack vs huge bosses you find there makes me want to slit my wrists

Nice. He’s fun. Lagged like a motherfucker back on the xbox.
I got like what 14 frames during boss fights.
Made me appreciate the remake on pc looking back at it haha.

Warrior is the worst sadly.
Like you can do insanely op builds with it but you’re limited to so few attacks compared yo everyone else.
I’d recommend switching to assassin with bow and sword. Then you’ll have ranged and the sword parry works against bosses and feels sick to pull off.

I can see what you mean. Also, on unrelated note, why did they take this song out of Dark Arisen? It seems cool as fuck.
youtu.be/SZNbabKjKpA

Is there a mod that lets Warrior equip more than 3 skills?

That’s sad. The start can be a little boring but I honestly think it’s just all around one of the most fun action rpg’s I have played.

Westerners didn’t think that song fit the game and pressured the japs to change it.
Im a sucker for japanese rock and that song is a 10/10.

There should be on the nexus last time I checked. It can make online a little fucky though so keep it offline and not on your pawn.

yes, dinput8.dll
nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma/mods/96/

Well that sucks. It’s hype as fuck.

I SWEAR TO GOD, I was in some catacombs doing a quest and suddenly there was fire and zombies and it looked EXACTLY like resident evil 2 (the original) and just then I realized that it was made by capcom, that was AWESOME.

I missed a lot of stuff because I just walked through the world and did the main quest and had no clue, it was a great game.

I never ended the addon, but I remmember DEATH going around and just killing you and you got deeper and deeper and the atmosphere was really great.

what a great game, I played it on the xbox 360, maybe I should get it for pc

this mod is the reason i play with M+KB

>Share weapon skills - allows you to use all learnt weapon skills regardless of your vocation
>Allows you to quickly swap between skills.
oh shit time for a replay

>You will never enjoy Dragons Dogma for the first time ever again

don't particularly miss it desu

Send help.

Nah, they only paid a license to use it for one game, same situation with The Next Door and SFIV

What should I do to spice up a play through? When I left the game I was just farming Daimon for his warrior gear for my pawn and got pretty bored

You know what is sadder?
There are people here that did.

>The duke could stand to commission some new roads...
>WOLVES HUNT IN PACKS
> 'Tis is a waste of time

I can see why people dont like the game or even hate it
I mean I love it, but I can see why others dont, it has many flaws and its not for everyone for sure

DDO is fucking good, it's a shame it never got a western release, then again if it did it would have been plagued with russians and brazillians.

Hopefully they implement a lot of the good shit in a DD2.

I've been loving it. I just got down to the Everfall after beating the Dragon/ How much more of the game is left for me?

I enjoyed it immensely, one of the best JRPGs I've played.

I wish I knew why I can't stop thinking about the game, it's been several years yet not a week has passed where I haven't thought about Dragon's Dogma. I mean, I loved it, but why the fuck has it stuck so well? There are games I like more and consider way better but I'm not constantly fawning over them and I don't care much for discussing them

Not counting BBI. You’re just about done.

Dark Arisen Bitterblack Isle (has some small story line)
And well the everfall, if you get 20 wakestones. That's pretty much the new game+ point of the game or ending, depending how much of a roleplaying homo you'd like to be.

Farm the ever loving fuck out of wakestones in the Everfall then head to Bitterblack Isle.

>tfw you've been jerking off to the thought of cuddling with your pawns for half a decade.

Thanks but I'll stay here, someone has to trigger the people, that's were I see myself.

how's the switch version?

Who cares?
PC version is best, all other versions are irrelevant.

same as the current gen releases (ie no Berserk armor) but runs worse naturally due to Switch's outdated hardware (still runs better than PS3/360 though)

I played through the game a bunch. Always had a giggle at my characters in this scene.

Attached: snu snu.jpg (1006x980, 162K)

I like RPG's
I like action games.
But I don't need my RPG's to play like Action games

>abysmal UI
>enemies spawn in the exact location as last time
I kind of like it, but the UI is just really bad I just dropped it.

Any recommended mods for replayability?

I didn't realise you could damage the big boy to stop his mega succ, so the first few times I beat him, I carried my pawn to safety. This game really is badass.

Attached: must save waifu.jpg (1920x1500, 421K)

DDO, more classes, better classes, fucking huge world that dynamically changes so it's not the same every time, tons of new enemy types with a lot more move sets, tons more gear, awesome crafting system, player housing and most importantly you can climb into a hot tub with your pawns.

my go to solution is to run away to just out of succ range, start an arc of deliverance, and then walk back into succ range so I get slowly pulled in as I charge my big dick swing, and as soon as I get in spitting distance, the arc is charged and boom, down Daimon goes

I never had much luck with warrior classes. I just went magic archer like a pleb.

Attached: shrek.jpg (1000x1026, 127K)

Without speaking jalapeno, how does one go about getting the game? It seems to be shut down in december...

Silk Lingerie is a gift of Allah.

>VPN
>Make COG Account
>Download Game
>Install translation pack if you don't read moonrunes
>Profit

Yeah BBI can be tricky with warrior, but they are more than capable of dumpstering the place easily.

not much point with the game shutting down at the end of the year though.

Post pawns you came across

Attached: eatalot.jpg (584x587, 100K)

Thanks. Gotta go fast, while it's still up.

Once you learn how damage works it really takes the wind out of the game's sails. That's my biggest problem with it: the action parts are constantly being held back by the RPG parts.

Nope, not good enough. Fuck you for not playing it when it came out, piece of trash. jk

>not much point with the game shutting down at the end of the year though.
Are you kidding? There's never been a better time to play, they're literally giving away so much premium currency at the moment that you can buy month long passport courses (paid subs) with just a weeks worth of login bonus.

So for the next five months you can basically see everything the game has to offer without spending a cent and get access to literally fucking everything.

I'm replaying it right now and not having much fun, because leveling Sorcerer is boring as hell.

If your game doesn't need audio to win at then it's probably not really a game that's enjoyable. You just play it because you can listen to your gay little podcasts while fucking around.

How the fuck are you meant to know what's weak to fire without audio faggot? Or which are masterworks? GTFO.

>for the first time
I played it for an hour or two and then put it down for a year or more.
Then I came back, found a mod that let me make multiple saves, and put in another 732 hours.
It's a fun game.
Assassin was my most fun playthrough, Sorcerer second.
I'm mad I lost all my screenshots.

Really hope they streamline the curatives in the sequel. And restrict their use, pausing the game to recover stamina/hp or deal with debuffs, is super whack.

Agreed, but I'm not sure how.
The weight limit was a big factor in making it difficult to just carry around all your health and status removal items at once, especially for mages.
It was also kind of weird to open up the menu and wolf down a mountain of mushrooms constantly.
I'm just not sure how they could reasonably improve it short of something drastic like big balance changes to make stamina replenishment and status removal less common in general.

Some words in cutscences are not tranlated is this normal or did my pack not download properly

I have been enjoying the MMO so far

>not knowing where all roads lead

fucking imagine

>14fps

I managed to get my PS3 down to

Never tried going mage/sorc but if you had 3 pawns with you, you could just dump curatives onto them, as much as you wanted since, if we are being honest here, it didn't really matter how fast a pawn's movement speed is.

Honestly just take the Souls approach and add a hotbar where you place what items you want to have at arms reach during combat, and also take away pausing while you're rooting around in the inventory.

>runs for 40 minutes between quests

>Portcrystal
???

>if you had 3 pawns with you, you could just dump curatives onto them
as long as you aren't concerned with getting them back
those fuckers give zero shits about rationing and anything you put in their packs is fair game

>Souls approach
Where would you remap the pawn commands?

Get rid of the L2 sheath/draw weapon button
And if you hold it down a list of commands appear, so you can actually order your pawns to not give you the most retarded weapon buff

Its fun. But there are a lot of things that it could learn from Dark Souls to make it better.

That said, I got about 220 hours out of it.

Portcrystal is for pussies.

>all these niggers saying it should be more souls like
You're fucking retards.

>This looks interesting
*picks up a rock*

Attached: idontgetit.jpg (326x326, 8K)

remove them entirely. overusing pawn commands changes their inclinations so best not to even think about touching them.

Retards only can enjoy games that streamers enjoy, so isn't anything new they can't enjoy a good game like this.

Started playing it recently, have clocked in 30 hours so far, just met the duke and did a couple of side quests and even though I love the game and can safely say it's among my favourites I'll gladly say some shit in this game really gets on my nerves and worsens the experience a lot
>Warrior
>not having future sight into the girl escort quest locks you out of content until post-game
>not having future sight into quest progression means you can miss out on several quests
>some areas of the map aren't traversable during the night due to how densely packed with enemies they area, getting to the lady bandit fort during the night is a slog because every two steps has a new pack of wolves
>fucking trockloads of different curatives and items that are redundant
>You can clearly fucking see Julien wearing his default equipment+a mask that doesn't hide his hair in the Salvation catacombs quest
>spells take so long to cast that by the time my pawns are done buffing me I already killed everything that's relevant
And I have no idea of how to train my pawns to do certain things but I guess that's on me

>some areas of the map aren't traversable during the night due to how densely packed with enemies they area, getting to the lady bandit fort during the night is a slog because every two steps has a new pack of wolves
huh almost like night is supposed to be more dangerous or something

Except it's not more dangerous if it's just a bunch of wolves can't you read? In other areas normal enemies get replaced by stronger enemies, I really liked the first time I went to a place at night that usually had bandits just to find those undead knights, the challenge suddenly jumped considerably because I didn't have any of the tools needed to kill undead. This on the other hand is just WOLVES HUNT IN PACKS for a full fucking half a hour while I slowly cut down wolf after wolf but pull more wolves as I'm giving chase to the previous wolves, they're not even direwolves it's just boring and annoying

Play this a fuck ton on xbawks, created a min maxxed pawn with OP as fuck BBI gear with a lowish level as to not be out of people usage range. Never used because she was a warrior ;_;

Saw the pc version came out, told myself I would never pick it up because it added nothing new and I already put a ton of hours in the console version. Well I lied and picked it up last night, what mods do you recomend? Thinking off fucking around with the any weapon on anyclass mod, any fun combos with that?

The missable quests can be aggravating if you're a bit of a completionist, but you can always hit them up during NG+ with a guide to get all the good shit.
If you're honestly finding some curatives straight up redundant, pass 'em to your pawns.
They'll definitely find a use for 'em.
>Spells
Make sure to balance out a pawn's repertoire with some low level fast spells and high level hour spells.
Those spells with long cast times have entirely worthwhile payoffs.

what the fuck was his problem? why does he murder his wives every once in a while? is it just ptsd?

Warrior is no fun allowed: the class because they only gave him 3 skills for no reason, no mobility options and made him too slow imo, but fuck me if landing Arc of Deliverance isn't the best shit ever.

Literally just refunded it on Steam yesterday. Felt outdated.

Attached: 1543680458900.gif (250x250, 32K)

He was an Arisen who was too cowardly to fight the dragon and gave up his beloved in exchange for immortality and a kingdom. He regretted that decision as he could not get over sacrificing his love and takes it out on his wives in manic fits.

I bet he didn't even take the dragons bargain. He probably saw choked his wife out the moment he saw her, well before the big red cunt could utter a word.

This is the best 7/10 game I've ever played

This.
It's objectively a 6.5/10 game but the amount of fun and freedom I had made it a 9/10 for me.

God its taking forever for me to get to level 200, and I beat Death at least 3 times already.

>mfw I never played Magic Archer/Mystic Knight up until last week

now this is podracing

Attached: 1470576631262.jpg (419x750, 54K)

I played the magic class and dropped the game after 10 hours. After dropping it, everyone told me magic is the worst to play as. I just can't be motivated to go back...

it's a bit painful, but do it.

Just put a podcast on in the background or something while you replay

i just couldnt get into it, i'm sorry user
i played mage but it was just so boring, then i got assraped by bandits on what i thought was the route to the early level quest.
i'm probably just a disgusting casual though.

Are the Nighttime augments that Assassin learns worth using? I'm just wondering if they're gonna be a detriment when I don't have them for half the day or so.

I hate to use this word, but goddamn this game is comfy.

Especially during Dark Arisen

Because it's fucking awful.

>No indication of where roads lead
>No hint to what enemies are weak to
>No hint of when enemies are alone or in groups
>No warning to avoid status effects
>No clue to which items are masterworks

I don't know how people defend this game.

>play through dragon's dogma again occasionally
>always either do holy bolt+demon periapt spam on sorcerer or explosive arrow+conq. periapt spam on either assassin or ranger
and I never get tired of it

Attached: 1556112433356.jpg (640x639, 60K)

Is warrior really THAT bad? I love playing as a 2h guy

I meant to add in strider too. I forget which is stronger though for bows, ranger is certainly easier for sure with 10 fold but I think the strider's volley is more dps
Though it isn't like it matters since either way you'll be killing daimon very quickly regardless

the new player experience is ass it took me 3 attempts to finally get into the game
but why he's salivating so much?

It'll leave you questioning your choices the entire time you're charging Arc of Obliteration and immediately go away when you get that freeze frame and watch everything nearby fucking explode as you drop that sword like a nuke.

So it is good?

Try skullsplittan after rusty bow corkscrew arrow guaranteed debuffan
You don't even need peripats or blast arrows to break it when playing Strider

already have
i've done it all because I like the game that much
dragon's dogma is my opinion is a true example of a flawed gem

The low mobility sucks, but yes it's notorious for doing Sorcerer-tier one-shots and hilarious damage.

literally about to start this for the first time & saw this thread. any tips for a newcomer? should i play on hard mode first playthrough?

Well, I actually lied about that. I haven't done unarmed only or a throwable only playthrough

When and why did DD fans become this smug?

It's a janky mess. It's a game people liked despite all the problems it had.

Sell me on this user, built my PC just this week and looking for a game. It's either this, Witcher or yakuza

this can run on any toaster so there's that

You can pirate all 3 of those.
DD is the best one though.

The only things hard mode does is increase enemy health, damage, and stagger resistance to ridiculous levels, while showering you in gold and XP. Don't touch it.

Put it and witcher on the backlog and play yakuza
it'll be there later but try to get it played before 2021 when dd2 is probably coming out

The problem is time and not money. Is DD just like Skyrim ?

Warriors good and bad.
Ton of HP, Lots of super armor and damage reduction during that super armor to make your huge HP last even longer and to just generally not give a fuck. Lots of attacks of his stun small to medium things indefinitely, and the arc attacks are satisfying as fuck and do massive damage in a single attack (you can actually skip a part of the game by one shooting a boss with it before it has a chance to run away). Stamina for days which is nice for running around and skill spams.

However you will lack any sort of range options (and curse existence trying to hit the ur-dragons wing tips if you stick with warrior for that) Have only 3 moves at once opposed to other classes 6, (meaning you'll almost never pick up the warriors utility skills) and shitty mobility meaning dodging and exploring cliffs and such sucks. Objectively the worst class overall as they can't really abuse items as much as the the other class and factually the worst class if you play a loli or midget or something since being a larger character is important to help with your swing range.

Sort of but better.

Warrior is the best worst class ever created, but honestly a lot of people who play it are fucking bad and reduce themselves to just spamming jump attacks and trying for an Arc. Warrior is honestly fucking overpowered until you reach BBI, and then BBI is really not that bad with it. BBI2 you get a lot of physical resistant enemies and it's still fucking doable. bring decent magic pawns.

The difference between warrior at 200 and say MA or Ranger or Sorc or almost literally any other class at 200 is that as a warrior, you're still going to be playing the game, every fight a struggle. At 200 in just about any other class you become a one-button spam bot.

it's more like if Monster Hunter, Shadow of the Colossus, Skyrim, and Dark Soulshad a weird love child

I can't think of anything like it

redpill me on this weapon, good or meme?

Attached: Iraklis.png (455x948, 771K)

>Skyrim
Dragons Dogma is anti skyrim in almost every way.

Combat is fun and well thought out, enemies are varied with unique fun gimmicks. Spells feel impactful and grand in scale.

There's not much depth to NPCS locations, Exploring is cool at first be empty because there's not to much secrets not involved in quests. Once you've completed the game once you'll probably have done 60% of everything (not including BBI if you skipped over that) unless your a thorough sort of player, in which case it might be more.

I give it a big ol 'fun for non-serious runs' out of 10.

Just finished killed Daimon for the first time at level 70, was a really fun fight desu, much better than Grigori which was kind of a pushover
Is there a fast way to farm RC I wanna purify all my stuff

To get RC, sadly nothing compares even slightly to getting rented. Drop your tags

bump

1st form?

Not enough weapon variety, and the game itself has zero style. Too generic fantasy, needs an identity through a more unique art design

I would have liked to see some greataxes, katanas, flails, polearms, etc, all with unique movesets

>Katanas
>European fantasy setting
Great Axe would likely just be a long sword variant like Hammers.
Flails are just silly in over the top fantasy style fighting

Greataxes could have a more spinning-based momentum moveset

And flails would be great precisely because they're never fucking used, the closest anything comes is a static mace but the chain is the best part

THE WIND IS PUSHING MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I mean all I can think of with flails utilizing high speed attacks and such is a kinda, numchucky style?

>A fine scrap, if I may say so myself!
>That was hardly a warmup
>Humans are apt to make all manner of expressions.

Runs fine. Won't blow you out of the water but there were barely any FPS drops the entire time I played, and I ran through almost the whole game in handheld mode. It's worth for handheld, and I think it was only like 30 bucks too which I appreciate since they've rereleased the game like 50 times.

Same here.
And you know what I think it is?
It's the combination of sound/music use as well as tactile feedback on all sorts of stuff, that somehow engrains itself into your brain on a subconscious level.
The menu sounds are so hearty that I can almost feel them. Even just remembering the weird 'ping' sound of selecting stuff is fulfilling and vivid.
Combine that with the fluid motion as you move through the world (the little swell in music when you venture outside, or first head into a location kicking in) and it all feels so, I dunno, kinetic?

There are better games, but dragon's dogma has a FEEL about it, that is almost affecting on a subconscious level.

Attached: madeleine.jpg (2488x3520, 1.41M)

Attached: mercedes.jpg (1280x1760, 403K)

The problem with Dragon's Dogma is that it has started getting way overhyped over the years.

At first it was just some weird medival fantasy last-gen game that ran like dogshit, nobody really paid attention to it and it got a lot of weird comparisons to Skyrim and Dark Souls; most didn't even know it was made by the director of games such as DMC3. However, people saw that there was clearly a lot of passion and love poured into it and it became a cult classic.

When the game hit PC and next-gen and became a massive success a lot of people didn't understand the hype, because they didn't have to context of it being this kind of unknown cool game that not a lot of people knew about. When a game gets a shit-ton of praise you will automatically have more people being critical of it, and DD always had a lot of flaws.

I don't like the incredibly slow start, its whats stopping me from playing a new save.

I didnt enjoy the long walking simulators.

you clearly never played warframe

who would actually unironically willingly play warframe

I could have seen them as the Mystic Knight weapon instead of straight maces
lots of magical emanations and shockwaves

I don't know could you imagine being that guy haha

Can someone give me a rundown on all/most vocations? My first character was a mystic knight and even though everyone keeps telling me that's one of the best vocations I constantly felt underpowered.

I like experimenting with the vocations and pawns but the questing is only good for first playthrough wish DD2 have better campaign especially with the discarded concepts in DDDA.

Assassin, Strider, Ranger if you want to kill everything in seconds.
Warrior and Sorcerer if you want to kill everything in seconds after charging for 10 hours.
Fighter is pretty good with his Dragon's Maw.
Mystic Knight and Magic Archer are just fun to play.
Mage is for hired pawns.

A shame they're killing the servers for good and we'll never see a western release.
New classes were kino, but the overall game wasn't that good.

>When you feat second form Damian for the first time.

Attached: Remove.png (1280x1011, 1.17M)

What makes mystic knight fun though? Is it the self-buffs or shitty low-level mage spells? Because I played one and I got nothing out of it. My next character is going to be a warrior or a sorcerer.

holy charged light attack spam kills everything in seconds as well on sorcerer

Perfect parries and Great Cannon.

for some reason i cant find it on steam.

still there for me
might be a region thing

Attached: dd.png (458x206, 52K)

Assassin is pretty much the best class.

Anyone played the World Difficulty mod?
How is it?

yeah i think its just not available in my region
also will i get banned if i use a global key for this game in my account ?? some user once told me that i can get banned for that.

Agreed.
Magick Archer only barely beats it in late game.

Wrong
strider does more damage while climbing
Sorc can fucking nuke stuff through walls
ranger ten fold.
Ass ins just get 6 str a level and a neat block teleport counter

Worst case is key won't activate or will be revoked
never heard of account bans for fuckin keys so someone is yanking your chain

Yea Forums is contrarian and the game is considered a 6/10 by most people so they fellate its ebin quirkiness, just like E.Y.E.

My method is to grab onto him after you take out three life bars, thats when he triggers the succ pop the periapts and attack his head so the succ gets interrupted. You can stay on his head and do massive damage as he'll do his recovery move when he balls up

Wasn't there supposed to be a DD2 announcement? What happened to that?

magic is for cucks and pawns, if you're that insistent on using it, play magic archer or mystic knight

That Heart Armor should have been in the game somewhere desu

So, what improvements would you guys like to see in DD2 if it were ever a thing?

i didn't drop it, just lost interest. will pick it back up some time in the future

Lock on and a dedicated dodge for all classes
I love the combat in DD but it always bothered me how loose it ended up feeling, even if it did add to the charm. When you get to something like Daimon, where the recommended defensive strategy is to just run constantly while giving him a wide berth and hoping none of his attacks clip you, it all starts to fall apart a bit. I'm not saying every class needs the Strider/Ranger's infinite instant roll with full i-frames, just want the ability to feel like I'm deliberately dodging attacks

best girl

Attached: Design_Works0079.jpg (2544x3538, 2.22M)

i want all classes to have movement based abilities like blink strike so i can play anything but assassin and still have fun

more weapon types, more magick types, more populated world with BBI style dungeons that you can find and adventure in
oh also add the different races that were in the concept arts, and add the moon area

Spears/lances
Guns (not too advanced though)
Having your house be an actual place you can sleep, maybe a garden you can grow stuff in too, I thought the fermentation system and crafting your own healing items was fun in DDDA

Not locking armors to class types. I need my fashion's dogma.
