Fuck off, yoomer.
IN YOUR HOME OR IN YOUR CAR
If I had money, I would produce a physical compilation of the old LEGO games for PC.
YOU CAN MOVE A MOUNTAIN
IF YOU DO IT BRICK BY BRICK
I wish they'd put all the old lego games on Steam. LEGO Racers was kino. I miss unbranded LEGO games. Though honestly they could still make a hot LEGO Racers game by having all the world being based on their brand spinoffs, except Rocket Racer as the final boss.
A LANDSLIDE HAS OCCURED.
A LANDSLIDE HAS OCCURED.
A LANDSLIDE HAS OCCURED.
A LANDSLIDE HAS OCCURED.
A LANDSLIDE HAS OCCURED.
same i was always a fan of their own original IP lego stuff over the slapped on indiana jones and star wars branded stuff
>mfw i fail the final mission and get the bad ending
ARE YOU READY TO LE-
>he wasn't part of the robust Lego Rock Raiders PC modding community
Yup I am, and this game sucked then and sucks now. And like 10,000 pcs in the country could run it when it came out since it was terribly coded. Not being a contrarian, but Im tired of nostalgia threads where noone was there to actually know the truth.
22 is a bit generous, aint it? Now if it were me making the OP I would probably put something more along the lines of "if you werent born between 1985 to 1995, fuck off and kill yourself."
Game was awful, you're not wrong. But there was some real nice bits to it. The exploration was fun as a kid, plus you had that fantastic OST.
Who remembers this kino?
BRICK BY BRICK
SUCK MY DICK
NO MATTER HOW THIN
NO MATTER HOW THICC
>Not CHOP MY DICK

HOLY DOOLEY
>22 is now the standard
Fuck I'm too old for this place.
Fucking terrifying
I shouldn't laugh like the goddamn autistic retard I am, but I did
>tfw Green Day was part of the soundtrack for this game

Truly a product of its time
Lego racers (1&2) were some of my favorite games growing up. I still have a physical LR2 disc and boot it up from time to time. Nothing better than your cart getting destroyed and fucking running across the finish line to clutch the first
Why was he so feared among the people of lego island. He's at worst a petty criminal
Reporting
He was the only criminal. Imagine being so dangerous that a town builds a police station because of your very existence.
more like slideshow island
He was the bringer of chaos in a society born by building instructions
Damn, this game may have the the first time I've actually raged at a game. This shit brings back haunting memories.
I remember playing this shit for hours on my internet browser
We didn't have internet back then, but I always wanted to play this. This and all the web games for Nickelodeon
>Those jumping physics
Which are you?
Between early and core millennial, probably closer to core.
Heck look at the rest of the internet where it's minecraft nostalgia and "98-03 born gang rise up" as the consensus nowadays.
core millennial yoomer.
that game was a blast. could have 4 people on one pc.
To answer a couple of people in this thread, the reason why none of the classic Lego games have been re-released is that the rights for them are a tangled mess that Lego can't be assed to figure out. Rock Raiders United has looked into this
>can have an "actual" track
>or can have a track with oil slicks and rotary fans and lava
Why did normal track pieces even exist?
I played this ONCE, because it for some reason refused to ever load.
bump
Playing thise old shockwave games on dial-up was a real crapshoot. I learned how to be patient by watching loading bars.
Ah, but do I have to be 24 or older to play this game?
WE BUILD IN A SOCIETY
BRICK BY BRICK
Took me years to figure out how to open the doors in the cave.
All I remember from that is going to the carnival and the ice cream minigame.
>TFW just turned 23
>Almost no friends left, absolutely no love interest
But at least I got video games.
>Lego Island
>Not based Tonka Construction
Old enough to remember Surge, but my mom thought it was an energy drink and wouldn't let us drink it. She was kinda right, RIP.
My absolute fucking nigger.
SARGE IS DEAD
Early zoomie
Move over, boys
>1994
Somewhere between Core and Late Millennial, was in one of those areas that got everything late.
early zoomer....
MOST FUCKING BASED POST
I never did get past like the first level or two cause it was too big brained for me to understand and after one death I couldn't bring myself to play it knowing it could happen again.
youtube.com
Fuck, you have to be older than that. I'm 27 and feel like I was at the cutoff for this masterpiece.
Not so fast.
>Impossible to play because it runs at, like, 5fps
>Most of the buildings can't be entered
>Play the same minigames five times
early millennial. pogs were trash, playing pokemon and having to have counters on the cards was tedious as fuck when i was younger. fuck you john for stealing my blastioise your double nigger
So he's a nigger?
YOOOO
my shit right here
>tfw Pepper gives a pizza to the Brickster
I have fond memories of lego rock raiders. Was that considered an RTS? Kinda felt like, might have been my first after spending most of my time playing civilization 1 & 2 turn based
Oh, and I might get >implied at for WoW being here, but vanilla WoW and BC defined pretty much all of middle school + a good deal of high school
There was another great castle themed game.
>Year of Birth
1994
>First Game
Medievil on PS1
>Childhood Defining Game
Medievil or AoE 2
>Adolescence
Runescape or Dynasty Warriors
>Current Fave
E.Y.E or X-Com
>that merlin crystal minigame
I miss the 90s' fixation with polygonal crystals. Now it's all about trying to make things as round as possible.
I kind of really want this game to get some kind of fan port like a lot of other classic PC games have. I've been thinking of starting one myself since a lot of the game's graphics and audio have been reverse engineered, but there are a few thoughts preventing me from doing it.
>1. It's nostalgic as all hell, but it's not a very good game
>2. Model animations aren't understood yet, which is a big part of the appeal.
>3. Recreating the rest of the game from scratch is larger task than it seems at first.
>4. Life is too short for this shit.
If you just want to walk around the island in HD there are easier ways to do it. I think there's a map for GMod, and a fangame made in Unity.
Hopefully the original source appears online some day, then a source port would seem reasonable.
I'd applaud your effort and would definitely play it myself. But the game is honestly garbage.
Stop whining. Gen xers who grew up with 80s action movies felt the same sinking feel of despair when y'all millennials who grew up with Pokemon and Nsync took over the internet.
I have still never delivered a pizza to the Brickster.
The game told me not to, so I didn't.
Had a red brick for everyone else's pizza mission except Pepper.
Its not good, but there were small touches that made it unique like being able to click on trees and signs and it would change the model. Its worth preserving as a curiosity piece more than anything imo.
There's already a guy remaking it in Unity, plus a far-fetched attempt at a fan sequal called Project Island
anyone remember this?
Was the sequel any good? I never got to play it
>Cars changed as you moved through your life and tech advanced
It's the little things. But all those cereal box games were pretty good.
Lego Island wasn't an amazing game or anything but it was super charming and memorable, and it wasn't downright awful either.
What saddens me to this day is that Lego Island 2 exists yet all it was was a fucking absolutely abysmal adventure type game with some of the worst gameplay I've ever seen in my life that completely missed the charm and point of the original.
in hindsight the original was very light on content. you can easily finish it in one sitting.
Not being able to enter some of the coolest buildings was so stupid.
well, it was a childrens game to be fair. nailed what it meant to do though, a lot of shit to click on (literally everything) and a lot of customization.
speaking of memorable, I'm watching a gameplay video and can recite the dialogue. I played this shit two decades ago.
>saving the little men
>pitting out fires
And most importantly
>painting a sick ass boat
Better times.
Except the copy protection was already retarded.
