I hate when people say Dan is the one out of touch with gaming. Its true, but no one talks about how Arin has obviously been out of touch with gaming for the past 5-10 years. Yes Dan's gaming knowledge is stuck in the late 80's/early 90's, but Arin's is also stuck somewhere in the gamecube era, and even then its not that good. On top of that, Dan is WAY better at the games he's familiar with than Arin is at the games he's supposedly familiar with. As far as modern gaming and the last few years go though, Arin is just as out of touch and shit at games as Dan is, but I never hear him admit it like Dan does.

I feel like that's not quite accurate. A ton of old Jon's most notable moments were improvised and spur of the moment. That's what made his comedy style so notable compared to most of the nugrumps, he was quick on his feet. He didn't need buildup for something like fuck snakes, pumbloom, seven asses or the overreaction to knuckles glitching through sonic 06 to be funny. There were occasional jokes that were amazing with buildup, but saying most of them were like that is overselling how well thought out a let's play comedy podcast can be.
