His ideas are good, and he wants them to be real and gets ahead of himself when he starts talking and then can't deliver. He deceives himself, not us.

Scythids would have been able to knock people out of their vehicles "Players will never see a single loading screen once they've entered the game" and talks about enemies having significantly different AI, with bandits ignoring cover and Crimson Lance coordinating movement and aiming down sights (I think this actually was partially in the final game, though they're certainly talking it up)

People were all fucking idiots when it came to No Man's Sky. For years, they kept putting out trailers with nothing going on, and then they finally talked about the game and how there would be 17 kajillion planets or whatever, and everyone was still wondering what the fuck you actually do, then for some reason right before release, everyone got excited for it when nothing was exciting about it. Then everyone was let down when their hopes shouldn't have been up in the first place. It was completely baffling. I know Sean lied nonstop about the game, but even if all his lies were true, its still boring.
Molyneux had his heart in the right place but couldn't push it far enough, I feel like he was really trying but I still don't like him.
