I've tried to get into this game several times and I think I found the problem.
Eventually combat is pointless since outside of a few enemies or a few optional areas, everything dies in 2-3 hits.
So now I modded the fuck out of it to make combat more like Fallout 3 and it's fun again

I'm gonna be honest. I played Fallout 4 more than New Vegas because I'm a settlement building junkie, yet it must still be acknowledge that New Vegas' story and choices were leaps and bounds of higher quality than Fallout 4's.
