clearly a bad game but insanly entertaining, mostly by how weird it is

>Incomprehensible to all carbon based 3D lifeforms
>Lots of rooms
>Scrabouillor/Denny
>Powerful handguns
>Sacrifice
>Immeasurable otherworldly power

Im surprised they werent produced by the same people

The Room of games shouldn't be just a bad game. It needs to feature a ridiculously bad plot, bizarre characters with surreal motivations and hamfisted attempts at evoking emotion while also being, under the surface, a testament to the creator's complete lack of understanding at the technical aspects of working with the medium.

It should also be made by an egomaniac as a way of jacking himself off at how great and smart he is.

I rest my case.

Lisa is well written though

>immeasurable otherworldly power
vampire car?

These anons have the best answer for you OP. . Deadly premonition has the exact sort of uncanny, incoherent dialog that the room has. It's just as janky and nonsensical.

I dunno. Movies are a lot more passive so a “good” bad movie is easier to come by. You actually have to play games so a “good” bad game actually compelling enough for you to continue playing must be pretty rare right?

It's pretty much this. Most other games in this thread have a fanbase that love them.
There is a very small subset of the Sonic fandom that has deluded themselves into liking the game, usually because they were a kid when they played it, so the only thing closer would be something that was more of an indie game with no brand recognition.

This is the correct answer

Limbo of the Lost obviously

Fahrenheit god that game beat by a mile. It’s a fascinating Warhammer rip off made by people who cared, but lacked any real talent it’s probably the best worst game I’ve ever played

Nah, Deadly Premonition is just a love letter to Twin Peaks, it's not nonsensical, just an homage.

It baffles me a lot of people think this is a deep game with a great story.

No

Best reply in this thread.

This is the correct answer in that the content of the game is abhorent to the point of entertainment, like The Room. And also like The Room, the production of the game was rife with oversights and drama.

silent hill 4: the room

What is the intent of this post?

It's so bad it's good.

It's more like
>It's so bad it's entertaining

There is something genuinely enjoyable about watching something the creator clearly cared about, but lacked the budget, ability, or time to make truly good. It’s far more enjoyable and human then some decent, but over produced Hollywood trash that is “more then a movie it’s a movement”

Limbo of the lost

The Room is a movie, and therefore art. Tommy devoted himself to a vision.

videogames are not art and cannot be compared to The Room.

very good answer

The underrated 3rd game? Nice.

EYE is bad in the sense that it’s so bizarre and full of dumb design ideas that unless you have a very specific mindset to even want to tolerate its incomprehensible. Even then shit is just weird and busted. It’s great if you can appreciate it for a broken bizarre love letter to 40k and samurai jack, but that’s about it

What kind of dumb ideas? Gameplay is good in EYE.

>participated in the Yea Forums dub

>but lacked any real talent

Art direction is perfect, and so is the soundtrack you fucking pleb

ha ha.

Yes and no, because I think the janky and stilted nature of the game does weirdly add to a lot of its humor and charm. But I also genuinely enjoy York as a character.

Attached: Deadly Premonition_York.jpg (1280x720, 48K)

I can't believe that game is real.

You really don't understand Deadly Premonition, or Lynchian Media. You have no taste and as such, your opinion is worthless.

The game play is great it’s just what’s around it. A lot of missions consist of “yeah we came up with a paper thin reason for you to fight guys in this awesome as fuck area have fun” research feels ass backwards, and the wound system either breaks the game if you know what your doing it cripples the player to the point of unplayable if it happens early enough

A lot of characters and areas feel either massively over designed or generic as fuck

Holy Shit...

Motherfucking E.T. on the atari.

Just wanted to remind you, get the audio book with Greg Sestero. It's honestly really good, sestero's Tommy impression is great. Pirate it you gay homosexual nigger faggots.

this

I can attest to this. The book is awesome and I'm glad I listened to the audio version. It's much better than the movie too.

Super Seducer.

Finally someone posts this. It's actually really faithful to the movie and is pretty damn good.

Definitely pretentious enough.

>low budget
the room had an extremely high budget

of course it was good; daddy Fulp made it.

youtu.be/CSjM5poWd1s
This absolute trainwreck of a "game" was the funniest shit in a while

M&M Kart Racing

This one is kino as hell.
"I have no mouth and i must scream, narrated by the author Harlan Ellison". this is the best narrator for this book by far, imo.
youtube.com/watch?v=mXVycxkV7o8

"If chin could kill"
Bruce Campbell book narrated by Bruce Campbell. Not too exiting but Campbell is a good narrator. Comfy.

It’s only really funny to watch other people suffer through it boring and obnoxious to play with a few highlights of so bad it’s amusing moments.

FUCK, I forgot all about these insane things. Holy shit. I think this is it; The Room; the game.

This can't be real. Just no way.

This is the first game that came to my mind. Everyone is listing games that are just flat out bad, but this is the prime example of so bad its good.

Bad video game voice acting gives me life. I love it so much.

This was my favorite bit.

Does it make you feel like you can do it too?

Uru sounds like that black emo from south park.

Damn, I was going to suggest Rise of the Robots but Sonic 2006 is clearly the correct answer.
What does that make Rise of the Robots though? A game with supposedly high production values that was hyped to hell as the future of vidya, only to turn out to be complete hot garbage... trying to think of the movie equivalent

anything with hideo kojima story

I love that they're all bad in a very distinct way.

Nicole sounds like she's bored with being told to sound perpetually bored, Uru sounds like a parody of a sassy gay friend comedy, and Shizuku sounds like an excited high school student who wasn't even recording in the same studio.

Batman and Robin?

Trespasser

Fahrenheit. Although that game is closer to Neil Breen movie.

Probably that game david bowie scored

water world, easily

beyond two souls

Deadly Premonition has humourous moments because of its low budget (amusing voice acting, out of place music, Dreamcast-tier graphics) but there is a solid story and memorable characters. It has genuinely entertaining qualities, whereas The Room you're laughing at how poorly done everything is. I don't think it counts.

Attached: hqdefault.jpg (480x360, 20K)

I dunno, it was hyped to hell and underperformed, but I don't know if I would call it a dumpster fire of a movie, it was just averagely bad. I'm sure there's an obvious answer I just can't think of it.

This is a genuinely good answer, maybe even better than Sonic 06, because Sonic 06 had a considerable budget and a fair bit of marketing, whereas Big Rigs and The Room had neither.

Like said, Big Rigs is just a lazy cash in. With The Room, Tommy clearly THINKS he's making an amazing movie. And The Room at least had nice cameras.

Came here to post this, I fucking love Yiik and feel bad for anyone that didn’t buy it to experience the complete absurdity of a guy rambling for 10 minutes about Indian tea.

the room's budget was 6 million, tiny compared to the billions hollywood's spending but no small feat. big rigs is more like birdemic or the bulk

I loved the change of lenses and cameras. I thought that was hilarious

Oh shit funni scream did the music?

Any game made by Kojima.

Crying is not enough

Mortal Kombat: Sub Zero, Sonic 06, Bubsy series (3D in particular), Sonic 1 on GBA, T2 on game boy, the last two hitting close to home for me.

Fuck you. The beauty of the room is that Tommy genuinely poured his soul into making something he thought was a classic work of art. He simply had no actual talent or knowledge of his lack of talent so its utter shit. Its a testament to human suffering, reaching out for an ideal it can never hope to grasp, in movie form.
Go watch another computer generated 8/10 superhero movie and come away with nothing but a soulless endorphin release.

Aside from heavy rain this is an excellent answer.

You better check your exoskeloteen
this

Fuck, I'm suprised nobody mentioned that earlier.

The Room: The Video Game

I miss threads about this game

Fallout 3 didn't have terrible writing though, the story just didn't make sense at all.

Feels like it would be God Hand
>hated by the masses
>cult fanbase who enjoys it despite or even outright ignoring its flaws

E.T., a game so bad it destroyed the industry and they had to bury it in the desert

test dog

OBLIVION
THE ANSWER IS OBLIVION YOU FUCKING FOOLS

Every NPC talks like Tommy except they don’t have the excuse of being some Polish guy wearing human skin
The Gates are like the sex scenes, in that they’re funny at first, but they go on so long that they become genuine torture
And the level scaling is so bad that by the end of the game you want to shoot yourself
