It's basically a JRPG version of minecraft for the most part, but you can actually build a kingdom/towns and have citizens stuff live in it. Minecraft it's just you and an empty world, but in DQ Builders you have other people living in your kingdom or whatever. You can build bars, inns, etc.

The game is really good, much better than the first.
i'm at the last stretch of the farming area, rebuilding the tree after the giant baboon shit up on it and i didn't notice any major slowdown so far on switch undocked, if you have bionic eyes
your mileage may vary.
