How does that work?

WHERE IS MY BETA ACCESS
MAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRCIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNN

Nah, I already have a software that organizes my games, it's called File Explorer.
But hey thanks zoomer.

you just link up your profile and it takes the games and achievements from that account

>boomer platform release a beta for a better platform( Good Old Games 2.0)
>calling a user zoomer

Attached: 1562423429537.png (1000x1000, 341K)

Why? You can't play the games on PC so I'd be just cosmetics.

>Here's your launcher to launche your launchers that launch

Don't have any consoles and all games and 95% of my games library is on Steam so Galaxy is useless for me.
No opinion about it other than I don't care.

K Pcbro.

alright sport, calm down. Just enjoy your video games.

WELL WHAT WOULD YOU CALL IT THEN HUH?

Yeah and filled with zoomer shit like open access.

>anime
>not weebtrash
lmao

CAN I ADD PIRATED GAMES YES NO?

Even if I had console games I still don't see why I'd ever use it.
From what I understand, you can't directly message your friends on consoles from Galaxy (and vice-versa) and why would I ever need to constantly look at my achievements on a platform I can't run a respective console game.

>Fortnite in GoG
Did GoG bought Epic?
Also when was the last good Valve game?

I was never invited

Attached: 124234246.png (497x480, 218K)

at the moment, no
unless they recently patched it

But you can send mesaages to your ""friends"" here too.

you really are grasping at straws at this point

>signed up for the beta within the first couple of days
>didn't get an invite
Well, fuck it. I guess I'll have to ask you guys how it is.

Has anyone in this thread used both GOG Galaxy 2.0 and Playnite? How do they compare?

Yeah, as I said, useless to me.
Aren't similar unified launcher already exist though?
Why all the Galaxy hype? Because GOG?

>tagging games with "monkaS"
this is truly disgusting

Not him, but, what the fuck?
You can't add games manually?

So basically, if you bought a game on a disc, you can't add it? That's shit.

>early access
>lootboxes
>no quality fillter in new games
>not zoomer

I'd get this just so I can rate my games because apparently GOG2 automatically adds them to your library.
I got tired manually adding every game in gamefaqs

Absolute shit taste. Consider crawling into a wood chipper legs first you disgusting gookphile.

Attached: tuxppe.png (680x680, 182K)

Does it launch other launchers to play their games?

>Why all the Galaxy hype? Because GOG?
Because GOG, and because people never heard of all the other software that does what Galaxy 2.0 does.

At this point in gonna say Tiannemen Square, no one can be this denial about this.

pretty much, at the moment you can only link up these accounts + Xbox, which shows all your gaming data from that account

Ok I'm downloading this

t.redditera

This

Because the other shoftware are not popular. All people now can download the same and have no troubles.

Can I skip EGS and Steam entirely using this?

I don't have beta access, but if the people who made it aren't retarded, then yes, it can launch other launchers' games, and if it can launch those games then it would do so via those other launchers.

It's like when you click a Steam-created desktop shortcut. If Steam isn't already open, it opens it. Programming it to launch Steam games in particular would be super easy because it's literally just a URL (steam://rungame/######, or something).

Yeah, I guess...
I think even Discord can import and launch games from other launchers nowadays.

what's the point then
I know it gives you data on your games but if I don't care about that I might as well just add the non-steam game to steam

I respect GOG for doing this but I don't really feel like using it yet because the only launchers I actually use are Steam and Uplay.

But when the day comes that I'll be using more than three launchers then at least it's nice to know Galaxy has my back.

The most you can do is set the options to have it launch the launcher when you're launching a game, then have it close the launcher when you're done playing the game automatically

I love these precious brainlet posts.

No, GOG Galaxy 2.0 will not hack into the EGS/Steam download servers for you. It will just use EGS/Steam APIs to install and launch those services' games. You still need the other clients installed.

t. low testosterone beta male

Will GOG2 close down other launchers when I exit the game or do they remain open?

It's a launcher for launchers you dumbdumb. Of course you need them.

>I might as well just add the non-steam game to steam
That's a manual process and is therefore garbage. Steam doesn't import games from your other accounts automatically.

the point is linking your friends and seeing what they are playing without having to open a browser or turn on your ps4

>But hey thanks zoomer.

I see, thanks. I never ever used Steam (or EGS) so I really don't know how they work, I had a feeling it wouldn't be so convenient but a man can hope.

Seething normietrannyera

anime website my effeminate dude.

Will GOG also drag in the shit Steam has like steam controllers into the launcher?

Can ANYONE gimme a download link to the client

Got 1700+ games across all my connected accounts (everything but epic gay store, fuck off shills), no fuckin way am i bothering to tag all that shit.

I don't use game clients because I'm not a pozzed little cumrag

You could done it in the time you maked your post.Same as the things you never accomplished.

No one's forcing you to tag anything though.

If you really want tags applied automatically, Playnite does that.

>monkaS
rope yourself

Asshole, you made me relaunch it because i thought they'd finally patched that shit in. It's still disabled.

I linked the nanny cam in the teddy bear I gifted my daughter with GoG Galaxy. And now I can see what she is up to without having to call for her or go to her room.

I dunno if you know numbers. At least I accomplished spelling and all the requisite words to not sound like a fucking autist.

What do you expect? This is yet another push for paid digital distribution.
I've been considering making a client that has achievements scraped from anti-consumer trash like Steam and GOG and has forums and all that social media garbage and won't charge for downloads, it'll work for pirated games and physical copies as a way to encourage people to pirate or buy a physical copy instead of giving Valve, GOG, Epic, etc, a donation for a download. I don't care about that shit, but others unfortunately do and would stop paying if they could get that stuff from piracy.
GOG is just as cancerous as the rest and giving them money rewards cancers like being charged for a download, patches/updates, DLC, and mtx, console wannbe platforms, etc like the others

Attached: Pirate master race.png (1366x768, 197K)

So genuine question here - is there any way to import my Steam friends into galaxy 2.0? I've been into the friends list and it only allows you to import people from Facebook which I don't have. Plus I don't have any friends via GOG as I don't play anything multiplayer through it.

Surely if epic can steal your Steam friends list GOG could as well.

Take the dick out of your mouth and make your magic ultimate launcher then assrimmer.

I SIGNED UP DAYS AFTER THE FUCKING NIGGER SHIT WAS ANNOUNCED AND WHERE IS MY FUCKING INVITE

>and it only allows you to import people from Facebook

Excuse me?

From all the press release fluff it had all kinds of shit about connecting all your friends lists so i'd assumed it was possible for me to talk to somebody logged into Steam via the galaxy client.

Based on what I can see it actually just means "we'll scan your other accounts and if they're on galaxy as well it auto friends them". Friends list has a button saying "import your friends" and it just has a fucking facebook button - pic related. Connected everything I have and it still can't find my friends lists on any of them.

Attached: galaxyfriends.jpg (1099x723, 93K)

GOG is going to shoot themselves in the foot if they integrate more of those non-vidya social networking sites into Galaxy.

I'd be willing to help, do you have a website or anything yet?

It's good enough and definitely looks like a professional product, but it's pretty lackluster when compared to Playnite that, while not as aesthetic, is more powerful, with more options and features, only lacking achievement integration.

Attached: file.png (1920x1042, 3.12M)

Is there anyone like me who
>doesn't use Steam, Epic etc. only GOG
>doesn't have any GOG friends and doesn't take part in any online community
>doesn't play online games, only single-player
or am I the only one? It was nice getting invited to the Beta but for me it's only a new coat of paint.

Attached: gogchan.jpg (1000x1000, 236K)

I also like the activity feed per game, may look good with added friends, although i don't like there's a lot of waste space

Attached: file.png (1920x1042, 2.71M)

You might be the only one.
I'm more curious though about the type of stuff you play. Not using Steam just feels like I would be cutting my own hand off when it comes to PC gaming.
I assume you still have a console of some sort to balance things out but I'm curious.

Attached: 1555524058903.gif (480x270, 85K)

Thank you for the Playnite comparison. Just saying "it's good" or "it's shit" is meaningless when there's no point of reference. I assume GOG Galaxy 2.0 will eventually surpass Playnite in terms of options and features, just because it's backed by an actual company, but it's nice to know that Playnite isn't totally obsolete yet.

GOG also imports friends from other services, right? I guess that's nice too. It's mostly pointless for me, personally, though. All of my friends only use Steam and Battle.net, the latter of which I don't use, and Playnite already has a button to open the Steam friends list.

I'll play any type of game except strategy and rogue-likes. What's important to me is that a game has good gameplay, a unique, well-thought out story, a compelling atmosphere and good attention to detail. I'm old school and 99% of newer games don't appeal to me. The trend nowadays is endlessly rehashing the same genres and mechanics only with better graphics. True innovation and originality has been left to the wayside.
For example I used to love 2-d metroidvanias...now they are fucking everywhere. I'm not interested in Cod or God of War shit. I want fresh ideas that challenge what a video game can be, sadly those are not the games that people want to buy.
I wish I had friends online to play with or a gaming community to join, but no one seems interested in the same things.

Attached: gog jap.jpg (1550x490, 368K)

Yeah it has the important thing that is that it's backed by a big company, but many of playnite features will have to wait for them to be added by GOG because the API is limiting in a lot of aspects since it can't modify the core functionality of gog galaxy 2.

I doubt many of playnite features that I like will ever make it's way to gog, from the top of my head: custom cover aspect ratio, import steam categories, link to game store, pcgaming wiki, pull metadata from unofficial sources, etc.
Some features like arguments, more detailed list view, better library filtering and management and controller fullscreen mode have high chances of being implemented.

whatever happens in the future, it's very good to have more optons to choose from and it can only make the different options better.

oh and not to forget theming support to customize the software to your liking and a feature that I highly doubt GOG will ever implement for a variety of reasons. This is a very important reason why Playnite will always remain a very good option to use.

where the fuck is my invite
i signed up within like an hour of it getting announced

>Yakuza 0
>tags: jrpg
huh?

I wanted you to name games not give your manifesto.
I figured GOG was pretty limited in the type of games they had. Thought strategy games would be the part of their market that I don't touch that might have some substance but sounds like you don't care for them.
I still want game names though, not going to make fun of your taste I just want to know what games on GOG you pump hours into.

I thought this was some revolutionary tech that was going to blow everything out of the water but the more I hear of it, I see it's pretty much just some sort program where that can throw all your launchers into?

That's cool but nothing really to write home about.

I mean I guess if you've never actually played it before. The tags look like it's something you do yourself and not something that comes from community.
This person probably chose all their tags and put them together just to show off to Yea Forums but doesn't actually play them.

To those without invites - it's not particularly useful right now. When it adds proper friend list integration from other launchers and the ability to close them when their games exit it'll be useful, right now it's just a big library.

What were you expecting you little goose?
That's literally what it has always been. What articles have you been reading?

You said type of games, not names. Since you're such a rude dick you can go fuck yourself

Attached: leasmoke.gif (100x100, 13K)

Yeah, don't have an invite so I've been monitoring these threads out of curiousity. Not even enough people talking about it to keep them alive.
Maybe it will work long term and I guess it would be nice to remember what I own on GOG but today the news that Retroarch is going to be on Steam was bigger to me.

Attached: 1559852753358.gif (400x300, 841K)

Thanks man, I expressed an interest in someone who would exclusively play games on GOG when nobody else would even acknowledge your existence.
Guess that explains why you have no friends.
You sure showed me.

Attached: 1547337636938.jpg (1080x1080, 83K)

gog needs to add a changeable display name feature like steam. Pretty sure a lot of people who made their gog accounts back in the day just used their first+last because it didn't really have social features.

isn't this just a launcher?

I still use Steam from time to time because there are things I can't get on GoG like Tabletop Simulator and Borderlands, but If I have to get something I mostly check the GoG store and get the game there first.
