I think the game is great, I will buy it, I will play it and I will enjoy it for the gameplay. But Shelly is one of the blandest, dullest characters I've ever seen and like some other user previously pointed out, they are trying to make her sound all badass and tough. Voice acting doesn't have the capacity to make or break any game whatsoever save for extremely story heavy and arguably not-even-actual-videogame-type video games.
Duke 3D was my first FPS and I'm very fond of it, but honestly after playing both games a bunch recently I'm feeling that Blood is more fun. Duke has much more egregious hitscanners and tanky enemies like the suicide bomber bots and the pigcop tanks that drag the game down a fair bit. Plus Caleb's voice lines are just too good.

I feel like the cultist ai being way too efficient at hitting the player. Especially at higher difficulty.
Usually jumping, ducking, and being agile does the trick but Idk man at full health I rarely get out of big cultist rooms with more then say 60% no matter how much I use those tactics(Even worse on the hardest difficulty.)
With that being said I had more fun with duke but I feel like bloods levels, atmosphere, and calebs character trumps all.

Cultists are the most common enemies in Blood and they have practically instant reaction time to spotting you, as opposed to Duke's Pig Cops and Enforcers having a second of 'wind up' after seeing you.
I like Blood a ton too, but I think hitscanners are fucking horrendous in Blood at times. SPECIALLY ON DIFFICULTIES HIGHER THAN LIGHTLY BROILED.
At least in the positive side, when you crouch you can avoid them almost completely because if not my 15 year old me would've destroyed a good monitor.

Here are some tips from a pro who just played it for the first time all the way through on Well done about a month ago

With smart positioning, fast movement and good aim you can take out entire rooms filled with cultists with minimal to no damage. Enemies also drop health which really helps with playing as aggressive as possible. Some people think the only way to play Blood is like a pussy and they are just fucking wrong.
