Ok steamdrones DEFEND THIS. You cannot spin this as a good thing.
Ok steamdrones DEFEND THIS. You cannot spin this as a good thing
Of course you can't
Emulators are allowed to be on whatever the fuck you want as long as you don't provide the games, idiot
Nice thread.
>RetroArch is a frontend for emulators, game engines and media players.
>It enables you to run classic games on a wide range of computers and consoles through its slick graphical interface. Settings are also unified so configuration is done once and for all.
So it's software being sold on Steam? What's the problem, here? There's been non-game software on Steam for years, OP.
There's other emulators on Steam, you know. Particularly ones for use in VR.
I'm just puzzled as to why they felt it was necessary to put this on Steam when it's largely unchanged from the cersion you can just get from their site. Maybe they're just using Valve for the free hosting?
>So it's software being sold on Steam?
It's free, so it's just software distributed on Steam.
Did the shillbot glitch again?
...why?
Emulators aren't illegal.
its free so whats the problem?
Someone is afraid of gog galaxy.
Correct. This doesn't stop people from not using steam to acquire Retroarch.
Where you actually trying to spin this as a bad thing?
>slick graphical interface
It's nice to have all the emulators in one place but holy shit the interface. It is the most unintuitive pile of shit I've ever seen. The options are all over the place.
How would I use steam to install retroarch on my ps3 anyway lol? it's mainly useful only on consoles anyway because it's more pain in the ass switch emulators on those than on pc.
kys.
You must be retarded.
RetroArch also helps manage Emulators and make old a dirt PC games work better on new OS.
agree i cant stand the fucking interface.
Whats wrong with that?
This guy has really high ambitions for someone that can't figure out shit. I can't rightfully say the project hasn't contributed anything but they've halfassed more shit than they've actually finished and it's still built as if it were for console only.
This guy is truly a moron.
>quake source ports
>then many dosbox games
>now retroarch
Truly, this is an outrage for which we must not stand.
How could you possibly spin this as a bad thing
It's free software being distributed for free without DRM. There is literally no downside to this you chink shill.
They may even add Steamworks features in the future, like cloudsaves.
>without DRM
>steam
Yeah buddy, sure..
based
There are lots of DRM-free products on Steam. DeoVR is a good example, the download link on their site was messed up, but you can grab it on steam and just launch it from Windows explorer.
If you think literally everything on steam has DRM, you're simply wrong.
Steam isn't DRM retard. You can launch downloaded DRM free games without running Steam
If you don't like it don't download the Steam version chink
You do realize you can open DRM-free games and software you bought from Steam from their .exe file, right?
Steam supports DRM free.
You can write your own program, compile it, add it manually to steam and launch it via steam and steam will not try to verify you actually own it. Try it if you don't believe me
