are you happy with yourselves for making telltale go bankrupt?

Telltale bankrupt because of shitty business decisions.

they haven't made a game with a good story in years so yeah

>telltale
>good stories
I mean if you're a drooling redditor retard perhaps.

>be telltale
>get some real success after using a fairly new and popular IP
>wow, we better expand our company x10 and buy the most expensive popular IPs possible
>should we make a new engine/change the formula at all? Nah
>should we make choices actually matter? Nah
>lets shorten the games, and make them even less interactive
>wow, we're going bankrupt!

wow!

The only one from the new game with somewhat interesting story was that wolf game.

This.

I bought and played walking dead, tales of borderlands and the wolf one too.

Their games were always a mix bag of good and bad but they had the sales. Just lacked the financial understanding to keep afloat.

I can tell you why Telltale sucks. And it's actually very simple: It's not very good.

You know about the game "The Walking Dead"? It's a fantastic game, and it has a lot to say about people's lives and the role of violence in a socialized world. If you watched those videos, you saw what a great thing this game is, one that lets you play a zombie and find some peace and sanity. There's also The Wolf Among Us, which is a fun, smart, well-written, well-executed game that also has great visuals, and it doesn't really talk about the idea that you'll get raped or stabbed as you're in the woods fighting zombies, because that's not what that game is about. It might not have said that if it hadn't gotten a lot of people's attention, but then it would've never caught on.

It sucks. Even as a storyteller you have to write and tell a story and the game does the lion's share of it, but in reality, there isn't much about "The Walking Dead" and it doesn't really do any better or worse than the rest of Telltale video games. It's just, you know, a mess and it sucks.

The fact that they expanded rapidly whilst making zero changes was insane. They basically repeated the mistake text adventures made.

The only game I actually liked from TT are the strongbad ones and the first poker night. Their newer games, including fucking Walking Dead were filled with boring garbage and their pseudo-deep narrative was only good enough for reddit faggots and retards on the 'geek culture' media who couldn't distiguish from good writing even if their lives depend on it.

I bought Back To The Future day1 of its release. I thought it was really interesting to play. But, licensing aside, I knew it was really low budget. The games always took place in one hub area without much going on.

Source? pro tip: you don't have one

Good means they we can get better gameplay
If you want stories read a book or watch a movie

You need to reply why the fuck would you think that TT games had 'good stories', hurry the fuck up faggot.

More like
>the concept or hiring 400 people to do the job of 30 people is now poison to investors

The only one that actually had a good story was Tales from the Borderlands. And the only reason for that was they gave up the 'dramatic experience' in favour of fun and it didn't take anything too seriously. Even the original walking dead game was full of contrived shit

>telltale "games"
They´re glorified VNs without the porn, the only thing VNs have going for them.

I bought a decent number of their games but once I bought TWD Season 2 and it turned out to be a huge drop in quality compared to the first season in terms of both story and gameplay I completely lost interest in their games.

Good to hear. I like having GAME PLAY in my games.

story does not prevail over gameplay
that is why they went to shit

>Good stories
>Telltale games
pick one.

Sometimes story does prevail over gameplay, actually.

But, with some exceptions, the entire genre can't really be faulted, since it offers an enjoyable ride even if some may prefer to skip, which can happen. And at least it was fun from a variety of experiences, both within and without the story lines. I can see a lot of players not wanting to miss those.

Sorry user, game play is too video gamey for modern audiences. They don't want to think, they just want to push buttons and see awesome happen.

Making anything short of a Skinner box vehicle for microtransactions is poison to investors because they are all the greediest slimiest bastards to walk the earth

Half the time the stories were not good, and there was no gameplay. Telltale found a formula they liked and then refused to further evolve it, and they never made an original IP so they wasted all their money on licensing fees.

Telltale made themselves go bankrupt.

Their best games were point and click adventure games, they got lucky with one series of The Walking Dead Visual Novels and then full transitioned into licences visual novel wank, seriously, The Walking Dead games weren't even good, they just pandered to normies.

Shut up you fucking libtard feminazi homosexual androgynous cucked onions boy fat slut retarded baby murdering agenda pushing propaganda shit stain.

>narrative designers
Is this truly a job?

Attached: in Clown World, you are the joke.jpg (225x225, 13K)

What is a narrative designer anyway?

Heres a telltale ''game'' with a "good story":
>youre just a dude trying to survive
>everyone you meet will be an asshole
>someone (usually the one good person) will get rekt right in front of your face for shock
>your choices dont matter at all
>they all play exactly the same
Those games were just huge memes, the company was a meme, and the critics circle jerking over the first twd were fucking wrong.
