I would actually argue that you are better off waiting until you do. I played the 3DS version on a normal 3DS almost all the way through. It was time consuming and barely worked. Groups of enemies popped in and out all over the place and it had tons of slow down. Getting a framerate above 20 was almost jarring and never lasted more than a few seconds. The one positive is you could cheese some quiz missions where you can corner the opponent you want to fight against a wall, and the others you have your back to simply won't load.

Imprisoned is a chore and not fun to fight

I got so pissed off I went and cleared his tier 3 map instead.

Pretty much ended up using butterflies and the big beetle for her missions and did well, thought Ruto was the shittiest one but stopped playing after the MM pack so things have probably changed.
