New info has surfaced about the PCE Mini, and only the PCE Mini.
the system will come with 50 titles, 26 are Japanese/PCE only games, while the remaining 24 are American/TG-16 games.
PC Engine lineup (couldnt translate all the games, but the gist is clear anyway): THE
TG16 Lineup: ALIEN CRUSH VICTORY RUN BLAZING LAZERS NEUTOPIA DUNGEON EXPLORER R-TYPE Moto Roader POWER GOLF Ys book I&II NINJA SPIRIT J.J. & JEFF SPACE HARRIER MILITARY MADNESS CHEW-MAN-FU PSYCHOSIS BONK'S REVENGE PARASOL STARS CADASH NEW ADVENTURE ISLAND AIR ZONK NEUTOPIA II SOLDIER BLADE LORDS OF THUNDER BOMBERMAN '93
Feel free to correct me, but as it stands, it seems the PCE mini will have all of these 50 games, even if there are repeats, while Europa and America will have only the TG-16 games.
The system will be released this March 19, 2020.
feel free to talk about the PCE, and how Konami are a bunch of Dickweeds.
>no Ys IV: Dawn of Ys First Konami baits people to stay up all night in hopes of some revived franchise or whatever, only to give them an underwhelming announcement. Then they don't even bother releasing the best game on said announced system. Thanks.
>no Bonk's Revenge >no Time Cruise >no Gate of Thunder FUCK
Alexander Brown
So we're getting 26 games that won't even be translated in English? That'll make several of them (like Snatcher and any RPG) unplayable.
Nolan Diaz
>no Demon's Crush >no Final Soldier >no Splatterhouse
I can kind of understand the last one, but the first two make no sense when they have the other games from those series.
Otherwise an excellent selection of games.
Jaxon Fisher
>they actually did add Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire Holy based
Brandon James
Maybe they couldn't get Namco on board. That would explain why Galaga '90 isn't on there.
Cooper Baker
It's gonna flop, this lineup's almost as bad as the ps1 classic
Jonathan Carter
thats the weird part, some people say that the 3 versions will get all 50 games, the trailer in the page implies its just the PCE.
logically thinking, it would be stupid for konami to release the US/EU versions with untranslated games, and it seems to be the case, but who the fuck knows?
Hunter Ward
>No Snatcher
Fucking retards
Elijah Barnes
Any one of these games is better than the entire PS1 Classic lineup combined.
Leo Martin
Snatcher is on the PC Engine mini retard. If you want the English version Sega CD is what you need.
Wyatt Powell
Yeah whatever nerd fuck off and get a life. Like literally lol.
James Watson
>SNATCHER (PCE CDRom2) Retarded speedreader
Matthew Hughes
t. zoomer summer fag shitting up a PC Engine thread. Go back to your Ninja stream
Logan Martinez
I was trolling. And you fucking fell for it retard. :)
Logan Miller
Fucking piss off you wish you'd make as much money as Ninja.
Kayden Long
>merely pretending Zoom zoom
Hunter Phillips
You know this piece of shit "PC ENGINE" is going to be for some faggot zoomers who pretend to like these shitty games. Literally better games out there then this hunk of trash. I'm sure it's not getting ported because they don't want Westerners to get their grubby little hands on their products. :)
Noah Roberts
Except Bonk’s Revenge is right there
Jayden Anderson
You're an idiot. This has almost everything people would want from a TG-16 Classic. The PS1 Classic lineup was a joke.
Xavier Powell
Zoomers need to go back
Brandon Hernandez
Imagine being a boomer and being a self loathing asshole wasting their life away on Yea Forums. Must suck being old and never getting laid again.
Jonathan Cooper
You’re here forever :)
Nathaniel Phillips
wat about popful mail
Jason Evans
Imagine being a zoomer faggot who knows fuck all about video games and shits up threads with potential. Must suck being an underage faggot that waste their summer vacations on Yea Forums.
James Edwards
Whatever. I'm fucking out. I don't even know why I'm on this website.
Chase Parker
日本語できないの?www かわいそう
Wyatt Martin
see you tomorrow
Lincoln Phillips
Imaging learning a useless language lmao
Blake Hill
not useless if you have any interest in traveling to japan
Ethan Stewart
As opposed to trying to cope for your lack of fluency by shitposting on an imageboard?
Levi Martinez
Remember when they actually sold the games digitally, instead of forcing you to purchase these incredibly cumbersome and closed off DRM boxes to get the games?
All these minis/classics suck ass. If they could play original cartridges/discs/disks etc, then fine. But they can't. They're just pure trash that takes up space while having shit build quality and tons of inherent issues. And now that's our only option in regards to modern purchasing options.
Why did these minis/classics ever do well in the first place? They're awful.
Owen Bell
>Lots of good shmups >Dungeon Explorer >Rondo of Blood >Cadash
No Spriggan, but I can live with that. Overall I'm pretty happy with the lineup.
Cooper Brooks
I learned a lot about the PC Engine by watching High Score Girl.
lets hope that indeed the EU and US version indeed have all 50 games. or else, this would be absolutely the worse mini console ever, even worse than the PSXc.
Jordan Davis
I'm mad that they refuse to include full series. Like, for Mega Drive Mini they included Phantasy Star 4 alone. Despite the fact that it's a sequel to Phantasy Star 1-3. Why???? That's just silly. PS 2-3 are all Mega Drive games, just put them all on the system. And why only include Shining Force 1 (or 2, for the Genesis Mini)? Put all the Shining games on it: Force I, Force II, and in the Darkness. Each game is literally just a couple megabytes large, you can fit the entire Mega Drive+Genesis catalogue on that machine.
The only difference between the JP and EN consoles is that the JP console has Tokimeki Memorial, while the EN console has Salamander.
Jayden Adams
Really? welp, thats kinda random. but hey! if it indeed comes with the JP games, go ahead! i can live without waifu sim: the beginning.
Ryan Cruz
See If you switch the language on the amazon page to japanese you see the changed lineup for the PC Engine titles.
They could've made that a bit more clear, though.
Joseph Robinson
i guess the thought process here, as with all classic consoles is 'lets compile the latest/absolutre best versions of each game'.
probably, because there would be unnecessary clutter, and people wouldnt play all those games, not to mention there would be problems with the liscensed games too.
Wyatt Hill
The only games I played out of these were Bomberman '93, Bomberman '94, and Star Parodier. Any other really good PC Engine/Turbografix 16 games?
Ethan Walker
I can see why they would leave out PS3, but PS2 is an absolute classic that shouldn't be missing.
>And why only include Shining Force 1 (or 2, for the Genesis Mini)? Put all the Shining games on it: Force I, Force II, and in the Darkness. This is why this thing right here is way, way superior to those shitty minis.
Seirei Senshi Spriggan, which is pretty much MUSHA for the PC Engine. Also Gunhed / Blazing Lazers. Excelent shoot 'em up.
Ian Gutierrez
They know you're not gonna play half the games on the collection anyway. Don't even kid yourself.
Eli Miller
just got to enter the official page, its updated too, and indeed its true, all consoles get the 50 games.
i am not gonna say they won, but At least its a pretty decent start, in comparison at least to the atrocious reveal at e3.
really nothing can beat the S/NES classic and the Genesis mini with its tower add-on.
Matthew Wright
>DISS-cussing
Fuck off you shit it was a great system. Tired of you faggots shitting on it just because its Konami.
Jayden Miller
Ys is trash.
Dylan Sanchez
Please kill yourself fag. TurboGrafx is some serious nostalgia for me as one of the few kids in America that ever actually got to play a lot of it.
Ryder King
>game reveal trailer clearly made with care and more respect to the console than it ever had originally by US NEC >HURRR FUCKONAMI AMIRITE GUYS KOJIMA SAAAAAN
The Bonk series are a pretty decent and easy to get series of platformers.
Then theres games like Castlevania Dracula X (rondo of blood). as well as the tons of shooters, at least according to some people.
basically the bulk of cool stuff comes from the JP side, as the PCE got hundreds of games more than the TG-16. but the language can indeed be a bit of a wall to climb in order to find the best games, also, you might be put off by all the anime games they have.
Matthew White
OP here.
i do love the PC engine and its games, but the reason for the DISS-cussing was because i thought that only the PCEmini was gonna have the 50 games, and not the TG16 and EUPCE versions, so in that regard, i apologize.
However, Konami is still konami and Kojima is still innocent until theres proof of the contrary.
Brody Lewis
>Fuck off you shit it was a great system. A measly four graphics layers just didn't it for a 16-bit console.
Benjamin Gutierrez
As odd as it may seem, its just done for two reasons I think.
1. marketing purposes 2. customers do not deserve all the games anyways
With the first I think that THEY THINK that limiting the game collection number that they can generate hype somehow when they reveal the games. This will get people talking about what needs to be included and then debate if the game selection is good, etc. Just gets people talking in general.
Now with the second I absolutely know for a fact that these companies simply believe that YOU or all other customers do not deserve the entire game collection anyways even if they could do it. The thing is though I don't think they could realistically include the entire catalog with these collections due to rights being held by all types of companies or people out there. Plus it would drive up the cost for these little machines even if as you said, technology has advanced to the point where we easily could have one of these with every single PC Engine game made on it ready to play.
Carter Garcia
hopefully, they, as well as sega will also follow the most important page from nintendos manual, and one of the reasons the S/NES classic got that popular:
>Give the users the chance to mod the system.
Jeremiah Johnson
>no SF2CE Why
Lucas Parker
Thanks for the suggestions. Always wanted to try out the Bonk games. I actually tried playing Rondo of Blood, but I stink at Castlevania games, but the game was still good, might go back to it one day. Always wanted to try Neutopia II because it reminds me of Bomberman Tournament, which I love.
Grayson Anderson
Who the fuck cares? You are really going to cry about it still all these years later? It was good anyways. Plus you weren't even alive back then so stfu. Its good that they are doing 50 because 20-30 I don't think would have cut it for this obscure system (in America at least). They also were wise to one up the Genesis in game count here. I just would have liked to have seen Splatterhouse make it on but oh well looks like the games collection is very good here.
Jaxson Martinez
Slowpoke here, is this gonna be like the NES mini in that it's a glorified emulator box?
Konami actually did something good for once. While it's not perfect, the lineup is still miles better, and the only region difference game is a Japanese dating Sim. Rondo in Japanese shouldn't be that hard... Snatcher on the other hand... Gonna need to translate everything in direct... Or learn Japanese.
Brandon Thomas
>Who the fuck cares? Obviously the millions of potential consumers who didn't buy this hunk of junk did. Who wants to buy some piece of shit console whose only means of competing with its superior 16-bit contemporaries is by having a prohibitively expensive CD peripheral packaged with it?
Liam Perez
>Kojima is still innocent nah bro, kojimbo got a big head during mgsv development, konami was right
Colton Jackson
It was originally meant to compete against NES not Genesis or SNES. It could also do more colors than its competition at the time.
Angel Smith
Can you prove it?
remember that Kojima/MGSV is not the only victim: >HIT THE LEVER >EROTIC VIOLENCE Konami wanted to focus its efforts into pachinko making. and those 2 games were the proof that, at the time, they didnt gave a shit.
Yes, Konami worked on dozens of pachinkos before that, but those latest, after a literal drought of games of those series, seem quite convenient, doesnt it?
sorry, but unless you can get Kojima or Konami's CEOs to talk and reveal the reason MGSV got rushed/Kojima got booted out, then he is innocent and Jim sterlings claims about Konami's work environment are true.
Andrew Kelly
Konami pachinko branch isn't the vidya one. And while Konami isn't innocent, Kojima also is the same. It's known he wasted a lot of budget and that he did some shaddy things. But in the end he probably left of his own and never was fired. For real, almost no old employes of Konami were fired before and some even work with Konami again, if he was really fired he must had done a massive fucked up.
