Can't be adult timeline because Hyrule is supposed to be under the sea forever by a wish made for the Triforce and because Ganondorf is canonically free from Demise's curse in that timeline according to Hyrule Historia, and can't be child timeline because in that one Ganondorf died and reincarnated into another Ganondorf years later and Creating a Champion says this never happened in BotW () and because in the child timeline Ruto and Nabooru never became sages but they did in BotW's ancient past (Nabooru mentioned in Creatin a Champion, Ruto mentioned in the same book but also ingame).
BotW can only happen in the fallen hero timelien by simple elimination

It won't be. They've already said that story and new gameplay features are going to be the focus. I disagree that the game had little story, though. There was a decent amount. It was just terrible. If you ever want an example on how not to do character-building, this is the place to look.

I could see that. Everyone talks up how any decision you make can alter the course of history in most time travel media, but I feel like if you go far enough into the future the events you did ultimately don't matter. BotW could just be so far ahead in the timeline that almost nothing from the previous games can affect it too deeply. But I can also just as easily see BotW being part of at most 2 timelines or the standard 1.

Other connections like OoT > MM or WW > PH > ST are also obvious. Then there's SS which is all about the origins of the storyline and why events repeat themselves. They might not give a damn where the smaller games take place in, and they might've screwed around it with BOTW, but it's clear Zelda is no Mario and there is a somewhat clear order to it. You fags just need to not obsesse so much over it.

I thought there was going to be time travel in BotW itself. When you start the game, they smack you in the face with the Temple of Time while telling you how they fucked everything up 100 years ago. Then nothing. Dead king stands on top of it for one cutscene and it's never relevant again.
