Realism is boring, don't get me wrong I love high graphics but games with too much realism are nothing special to play, it's like doing a chore, I'm trying to play red dead 2 and it's just a soul sucking experience.

But there's nothing "real" about Rdr2 aside from graphical fidelity. You need mechanical depth and actual potential for failure for realism. You go into the woods in rdr2, it doesn't feel like camping. It's all a theme park
ah yes and many have said the same, as for this game there is already little to no gameplay so I didn't mind treating like a movie
the mods will be incredible for this game when it comes to PC
I honey have no idea what this shitty critique even means. Takes a few seconds longer to get loot, there's physics attached to everything. Which is awesome because that's hard to pull off and most devs would be lost getting that down right. There's fast travel everywhere. The mission structure is just like the first game but with better law. If law for whatever is giving you issues there's guide's and videos on how to adjust. The law system isn't broken. You just have to learn how to adjust and what the AI is looking for when it comes to aggression.
I applaud Rockstar for not following any rules and guidelines for how this game should be designed. Not giving a fuck a doing whatever they wanted to has always defined them.
Honestly*
Problem with RDR 2 is that it doesn't commit
They could for some real survival elements but they just quarter ass it.
There's also the lowly hinted at RPG elements like NPC interaction and choices in side "quests"
It has no identity aside from slow ass, linear missions or slow ass empty world full of 2 minute random encounters
I only play those games once every 8 years so it doesnt really brother me that they’re overly “realistic”. I like playing something different once in a while. Loved RDR2 as well, the slow pace and exploration was great. But again, I play games like that once per generation, if it was a yearly thing I wouldn’t go for it.
You just know people will find a way to mod in completely new landscapes.
i feel the same about racing games, for some reason devs think realistic graphics should always equal realistic gameplay.
i miss midnight club 3s two wheel shenanigans or going 250 mph into a 90° turn
Yeah they should have gone all out with the realistic shit. The really slow stuff was what was most enjoyable. Like spending many real time hours in the woods to hunt the perfect animals for the 3 star pelts. But they knew normies would hate it so they also put the "action" in it which is 90% cinematics and 10% autoaim shooting.
I had a blast playing kingdom come. Maybe you are a pleb.
Can't wait for online to be ruined by PC nerds
I want people to mod the entire thehunter game into this
Yeah the survival aspect is limited. Setting up camp is boring because you cant choose where to set it up or need to gather supplies etc. Would be better if you needed to get firewood or buy materials. I like RPing as an outlaw, hunting food, selling stuff at the store and maybe going to the saloon for a beer or dinner then camping out for the night but it's not detailed enough to be interesting for long. The hunger system is pointless, you don't need to eat only to refill the dead eye which is retarded
>crafting custom ammo
>you literally have to sit there as he crafts each individual bullet
Oh fuck you Rockstar you time wasting cunts
anyone remember the rumors about npc's taking revenge for killing their relatives/family and shit? I honestly don't think it would be impossible to encounter in the game, I mean it's just a few lines of dialogues for bounty hunter npc's, but usually when they come for me I don't listen to what they have to say and just kill them
I have never had it happen to me. Only ever had bounty hunters. Doesn't seem too mindblowing though. I wish we could do actual home invasions or night time break ins at stores. So boring just holding up a place the exact same way every time
This should have been a hunting or camping sim. The missions fucking suck ass and the survival elements are so basic
>another pleb has the need to voice his pleb opinion
fucking lurk more retard
Well there is no gameplay when youre watching it on twitch, my poor pcfag
fpbp
This is the problem with big budget titles. The production values are through the roof, but they don't do anything with those assets that's interesting. Realism in games is also definitely tied to both the assets and the mechanics like you say.
this actually;
I want them to make fishing/hunting more advanced and more meaningful.
I don't think I'll replay the whole game when it comes out on PC, but I'll definitely spend some hours exploring again.
Don't worry, no one read that anyway
Based
>if you kill someone, you can hid the body so no one finds out
As soon as I pick a body up to hid it, it's like the whole town come out at just the right time to catch me. Or robbing a store and it just so happens someone walks by the window and sees it at the exact same time.
So can you only get to beard length 10 in chapter 6 or what?
Almost like you aren't supposed to be able to spam them...woah
Same here, it’s like some weird kind of programming where they always want you to deal with witnesses
RDR2s artstyle isn't realistic, it's painterly.
I wish the law system wasn't so oppressive. I just want to be able to have a bar fight and leave afterwards not deal with the sheriff or ens up getting a 100 dollar bounty because I won a fight I didn't start
>can't get hookers
>can't choose camping site
>can't do bounty missions other than the 5
>can't further interaction past 'hi' or 'antagonize'
>can't accidentally step on someones foot without getting into a fight and being wanted for murder
>have to be an SJW outlaw that respects everyone except le inbred hillbillies
roaming out of bounds was incredibly comfy
you can comfortably finish any barfight and then lock on to the law man and defuse, which will prompt him to tell you to leave the area and under WANTED it will say "Move Along" allowing you to leave
the problem is people see the law walk in with guns and either just fucking panic, hoof it or start blasting tjen complain about it. alot of times you can evade getting a bounty by just playing smart , when bounty hunters do inevitably ride up you can hide pretty effectively until dogs show up and sniff you out of hiding spots
its the reason I stopped playing rdr2, I like to fuck around in these types of games, rdr 1 I could do stuff and then just continue playing but not in rdr2
That's what I don't like. Having to apologise and leave the town but if I don't do that I get a wanted level. Sometimes its just fun to be able to commit crimes and run away instead of following a set procedure to get away. Is it hard to hide from law etc. I've tried a few times but was caught straight away even though I was in another room
I respect your opinion you have stated, but I do not share it.
agreed, i dropped that shit barely 3 hours after the tutorial ended. don't get me wrong, i can objectively appreciate the unbelievable detail that went into that game, but apparently somewhere along the way they forgot they were making a GAME.
>when it comes to PC
incredibly good story, made me actually feel
but I realized that is incredibly true and RDR2 has very little fun gameplay
>hated dutch
>hated most of the gang members
>literally no motivation to do the story because of this
>story sucked anyway lets be honest
>hunting is sort of fun
>bringing back 1 pelt at a time because fun not included means not a good way of making money at all
>only so much entertainment you can get from picking fights with total strangers and seeing how high a bounty you can get
Incredibly overrated game
>hated dutch
He was interesting until he became a mad man over night
>hated most of the gang members
This. Never wanted to hang out with any of them. Maybe John
>literally no motivation to do the story because of this
Story gets shit at the second chapter.
>story sucked anyway lets be honest
True
>hunting is sort of fun
True
>bringing back 1 pelt at a time because fun not included means not a good way of making money at all
You can stack loads of pelt on the backnpf yout horse
>only so much entertainment you can get from picking fights with total strangers and seeing how high a bounty you can get
Also true
>horse will run straight into trees
rdr2 could use a bit more realism in that regard instead of having furry motorcycles
Dutch was never interesting to me, felt like all the mystique they'd built in the first game wasn't lived up to when he's a barely well spoken guy with absolutely retarded plans. Everything dutch did just lead to trouble, bill williamson was like "hey lets rob a bank with some whores for lols" and it went way way better way sooner than anything dutch had conjured and everyone routinely referred to bill as basically a retard but pretended dutch was the second coming of slick talkin jesus. It felt more like the game was using secondary characters being wowed by dutch to try to trick me into being wowed by him also, in spite of his mediocrity.
It will also keep running into the tree until you moved it
Yeah I guess I see what you're saying. Chapter 2 I lost all faith in him with his stupid 'lol lets work for the sheriff" angle
Reloads are way too fast
Shit game
You sound like you would eat shit if R* painted it gold
