A real court case would have dragged out and forced them to delay the launch of the game, whose development time has already gone way past what everyone what everyone was expecting. In comparison a simple name change, and nothing else, is a small price to pay to avoid getting tangled up in a legal quagmire for months.

4 Levels and 2 challenge modes, they're very good but not worth the asking price on their own.

Right now there's a preview campaign which consists of 4 rather large levels, and then 1 additional level that isn't connected to the other 4. Then 2 challenge modes.
I've played it a total of 7 hours already. But if you're just doing one playthrough you're looking at probably 1 1/2 / 2 hours of playtime. But you may as well buy the game now because it'll go up in price in a week.

Hedon was pretty good.
Just played the first level. This game is amazing, it really feels like another Duke Nukem. The guns all feel so satisfying. The open areas are designed as combat playgrounds instead of just being open areas for the sake of impressing the player. The way the areas of the first level wrap around themselves and force you to backtrack while opening up monster closets and shortcuts on the way back is really cool, I love map design like that. And I like that they didn't hold back. Even the first level was a satisfying challenge, in fact I actually struggled with health in the first part while I was getting used to it. It feels like a Build Engine game for Build Engine fans. This is our game boys.

Well it's just comfort and circumstance. Id like to play it on my TV and I can display it there but the way my set up is I can't use my keyboard and mouse. The issue is mostly the mouse. I played Duke 3D with a pad and it's fine. I'm probably as good as you can be with a controller and it doesn't bother me especially in a game without ADS

The suit would have merit (not that that means that the band would win) because the game is using a similar gritty skull aesthetic as the band uses in their print and stage shows. If the game was actually about iron maidens (the torture thing) there wouldn't be anything to sue over. A trademark doesn't mean that you own a word but you own using it for a certain context and are protected from others leeching off what you have uniquely associated with it.

I'm with you. I hate the general aesthetic of the game, the maps look bad. Also Shadow Warrior Redux has absolutely abysmal mouse aim, and I mean abysmal. eduke32 does just fine, BloodGDX and nBlood does great, Ion Maiden preview campaign does great but Shadow Warrior Redux is borderline unplayable due to how bad the mouse control is, you can literally feel how it just skips pixels, no matter how you set it up. Completely turned me off of it.

There's literally nothing different about her from any of the other FPS protagonists at the time. Blood, Shadow Warrior, Duke Nukem, they all featured trash talking main characters with an unhealthy amount of pop culture references. Caleb was probably the most self contained, but Lo Wang was spouting out Chinese wisdom and dick jokes, while Duke is a walking meme machine.
Not the same user, but new Lo Wang's character is still unbearable, but it's somewhat worth it for his interactions with Hoji. Shadow Warrior 2 doesn't work at all in that regard, since poor Hoji's out of the picture.

Duke's combat isnt even that good. It falters particularly when it comes to enemy design. It relies too heavily on hitscanners that you cannot manipulate like you can the hitscanners in Blood and some weapons are far too powerful and some are far too weak. The shrinker is insanely OP. Battlelords might as well not even exist when you have that thing.

Honestly? No, there isn't. The best way to appreciate BUILD is to learn how to map with the engine, and play the first levels of Duke and properly try to grasp what is being achieved.

Pistol is probably the strongest weapon in the arsenal, due to it's alt-fire.
Shotgun is ok, but having to reload every 6 shots drags it down a bit. And I feel that Blood's shotgun had more of a kick to it.

Grenade Launcher is fun, but switching from shotgun to GL is weird since it doesn't atomatically refill the magazine. Really hope that's fixed.

I mean, having a better shotgun than Blood's is a pretty tall order. That thing is one of the best shotguns ever to be put in a videogame. Also the reloading is pretty fast so it didn't bother me that much. Single wielding SMG isn't great but when you dual wield them they shred through enemies like butter.
But yeah I do agree that the shotgun/grenade launcher combo is the main thing I'm not keen on. Seems more like they wanted to combine them so they didn't have to make another dedicated grenade launcher weapon. At first I thought it was cool that the shotguns alt-fire was a grenade launcher but then I hit the 8 key and realized that it was taking up a fucking weapon slot. Its really strange to have a weapons alt-fire taking up a weapon slot like that. Probably means we aren't getting a rocket launcher either which I don't know how I feel about.
