i loved it back in the day, but cant play it like i used to. too many bad maps in rotation(FUCK THEMEPARK), them fucking up old maps, new operators being OP at launch nearly always, despite them saying "all DLC is free!" it takes dozens of hour to unlock a single operator for free
and i dont normally care about how good or bad a community is, but HOLY FUCK it seems like you cant go two games without being teamkilled randomly or some asshat hitting his lag switch

They are not fun to play with or against.
Cameras are already incredibly powerful in a game like this without literally wallhacking you.

Lower skill matches are more fun to watch and unironically have more depth than higher ones.
i have played since about a month after launch and though im no Diamond player, i have come to wonder if the one-shot-headshot mechanic is actually hurting the game in the way its being played. I feel it renders alot of guns useless, and oftentimes there is spraying and praying with random headshots that decide gunfights rather than consistent aim and recoil management.
Am I wrong on this? i rarely ever see DMR's being used, same with half the other weapons because of this.

I disagree. Too much gets decided by twitch aim in that bracket.
All too often people just rush in and frag and noone can do jack because we are all really bad at actually shooting so we get 'caught offguard' and just lose gunbattles as finka boosts their team straight into the objective.
On the other side of things, once someone dies, they just scan you on a camera for the rest of the round when its impossible to find the camera.
Default cameras are easy enough to remember, but drones and defender gadgets are invisible once the round starts and it's really just not fun.
Every game that aim for a "competitive" is a fucking boring shitfest. Also the standar version is a scam
it's that combined with 1 shot kill HS you have perfect accuracy while moving.
The servers for Siege aren't good enough to make this feel okay so often times fights are decided by who peeked first.
In CSGO you are somewhat punished for aggression because you have to stop or counter-strafe to be accurate.
Consistent aim is only important for pixel and spawn peeks.
Think about this - even if headshots didn't boost damage, people would still 'spray and pray' because then aim doesn't even matter.
This game is more about positioning than aiming and that is just fine to me.
You still need a large amount of recoil control to handle half the guns in this game to even get a headshot, so stop crying about the time some p90 user aimed at your knees and got a headshot.
That guy, as you said, got lucky.
