its dope, but you are a retard if you use that as your main gaming machine.

Was actually thinking of something along these lines for my desktop. A long skinny portrait screen on the right or left or both that just contains meta-game information or other programs. Maybe even on hinges so that you can turn them inwards.

Kind of looks silly having it landscape like this.

I do that kinda. Having a portrait monitor is 10/10 for reading or text based shit on the other monitor.only annoying thing is videos.

I completely understand why people need all this meta information while they're gaming. Like what are you even going to do about your un-moddable laptop if it doesn't have the right Temps or numbers?

>no numpad

into the trash it goes

Sorry, I meant to say I DON'T understand. That was like the most important part of the whole post.

numpad isn't really used in many games outside of sims like arma

There's number keys right there grandpa, I'm sure you can live without that completely unnecessary space

>gaming
>laptop
Pick one.

I never understood why no gamea are optimized or modded for dual monitors. I spent am insane amount of hours to get my bag, map and a few extra bartender bars on my second monitor in WoW, but it was great. There was a fad to have "companion apps" for games and fucking GBA and GC had it. Wii U raj on the premise, but it just mevwr took off in the actual convenient format.

Fuck you I pick both because I can get specs that are within the top 1% of retail desktops whilst being able to carry it in my bag and also can use it for comfey shitposting while in bed

Seethe more desktop purist

Fuck you're right. The way ds and wii u used the extra screens are way underutilized in the rest of the industry

go play your mindless self-flaggelating shooters that pet your head and stuff your gob full of dlc cum little zomzoom

i used to freeze a large, square, flattened ziplock bag full of water and then put it under my old shitty laptop while i played team fortress 2 to help cool it down, it kept the temps under 100 degrees C and the condensation didn't cause any adverse effects luckily.

this isn't 2004 user, a cellphone can game with the use of emulators and such

The future looks bright.

>retail computers
so crap.
Also
mobile part that shares a similar name, but are clocked at like 50% the speed, never turbo and throttles like a mother fuck is not the same thing.

Play more games made by autistic germans

>I spent am insane amount of hours to get my bag, map and a few extra bartender bars on my second monitor in WoW, but it was great.
Explain
l cant picture this looking good at all

good ol' winchester

It looks to me like that is game information not computer information
or at least some of it is

Oh I see. I didn't think that many games utilized second screens for info like that

I have seen a lot of decline posting recently. And I am glad it is finally getting the credit it deserves.
such as? sim games have this? not my cup of tea but I am curious.
idk it if it looked good but it worked well. I basically made my game windowed fullscreen across the two monitors then used a border addon to make my main screen have the game. Then on the left screen I put the map, the chat, and a bartender bar of non combat shit I just clicked. Also usually had my bags open on there.

>mobile part that shares a similar name, but are clocked at like 50% the speed, never turbo and throttles like a mother fuck is not the same thing.
most laptops just have straight up the same parts these days and not an "m" version.
like there's a lot of laptops with gtx 1060/1070/1080 these days

Alright, seriously
Who the FUCK still plays League?

Laptops are the biggest waste of money you could ever spend.

I mean I like the idea of having chat windows and web pages on them but how many games are going to actually use that second screen for in-game information

Yeah sure, except they overheat and you have to keep them plugged in 24/7.

>Women and nogs
Fucking lmao

Laptops are great if you have friends and/or travel

I have a flight coming up with two 2+ hour layovers and I'm very happy I'm going to be there with a laptop.

same part
***just clocked lower, can not be OCed and thermal throttle in any gaming load.
GPUs are not as bad, especially Nvidia's parts since the artificially gimp them anyway. But you are not getting a proper intel 14nm+++++++ housefire in a laptop.

It just depends on what you want to do with them

wow! imagine the functionality of two displays on a real pc, only smaller, worthless, and three times the price because its a slim laptop.

Why the fuck do you need one for travel?

Just use a mobile for internet and use a college if you're a student or some shit.

I'm about to start college so I had to make the switch to a laptop, and I am very pleased with my decision.
I at least need a number pad for my major so I feel ya on that sense

The X series has multi monitor support, I think the first two Supreme Commander games did as well but that's not german

Only usable if you got noise cancelling headphones, otherwise the fan noise ingame on load will make you deaf.

i don't mean to alarm you but desktops also have to remain plugged in. the difference is that a laptop is much easier to pick up and bring somewhere else.

I could just use a cellphone for an all around inferior experience sure

looks awesome but would definitely not want to own it. I'd rock it as a side bitch for sure though.

There are desktops in college

Use them, dumbass

idk, I I wouldn't try and play a game on a plane with a laptop. rather just use a switch or vita at that point. But yeah outside gaming laptops are obviously very useful. I will never understand normies whose entire setup is a 13" 768p screen touchpad and attached chicklet keyboard though. Like even if I didn't play games I would still want multiple large monitors, mouse, mechanical keyboard, probably could get by with just an SSD since I have a NAS, but otherwise big 3.5" hdd etc. I mean yeah docks exist, but they are a pain and normies don't even use them.

Why would you need to bring a laptop everywhere?
There are desktop computers in all working environments.

I'm sure a modern gamer laptop could beat my 970 + 4670k
Considering it for when I start uni

Or you could purchase and replace a few parts maybe.

>nintendo DS

>gaming laptop

Layover is between flights, on flights i tend to just listen to audio books.

Yeah let me just bring my tower to school and travel 2000+ miles with it every holiday.

Looks lit it’ll have a thirty minute battery life playing anything with polygons

>multiple displays are useful
Who've thought...

Attached: 20190712_022833.jpg (4032x3024, 3.69M)

Just buy a switch bro

Yeah this is honestly kind of outdated thinking. There are some bomber laptops that are actually reasonably priced compared to building a decent desktop these days. Obviously it's more of a pain to upgrade a laptop long term, but it's not a bad option depending on your needs nowadays.

>Being a zoomer

>implying I'm a nintendofag

How hard is it to just strap your CPU in so that it doesn't hit anything?

Yeah it's very useful to break my neck

You could easily waste more money on garbage Apple products or getting gaming peripherals aimed at suckers like mouse bungees and gaming chairs so not THE biggest waste of money. But yeah, laptops are a scam too. Overpriced shit but unfortunately portability is a necessity nowadays.

Only if you're a burger who has to travel 6 hours to get to a college

I travel around a lot so a decent laptop I can watch movies and stuff on keeps me sane. I just save gaming for when I get back home because I don't want to pay out the ass for a brand and subpar performance.

I don't understand why some people just can't seem to grasp the concept of why other people want to be able to travel with a computer.
